What has been the general reaction from Challege regulars regarding this season?
I don't follow twitters but the reactions haven't been so bad IMO unless the vets are obviously faking their interest.
From podcasts and video chats CT, Derrick, Mark, Laurel, Ruthie, Kenny, Paula and Evan haven't been too negative or negative at all.

Probably a tie between Battle of the Sexes 1 & The Gauntlet 1.......Ruins is up there because of the Alum they brought back like Tonya, Veronica, & Ibis!

This is a tough question for me
My favorite formats (Cutthroat & The Ruins) were disappointing because of the casts
The best seasons IMO are mainly old seasons
1. The Gauntlet
2. The Duel II
3. Battle of the Seasons (the first one)
4. The Inferno II
5. The Gauntlet II
The worst 5
1. The Island--just horrible
2. The Battle of the Seasons II--absolutely horrible season (in terms of competition) and final
3. Rivals--hated the format
4. The Inferno III--hated most of the cast
5. Fresh Meat--hated the format

Just my curiosity shining through again, but what did you enjoy about Duel 2 and what was wrong with the casting of Cutthroat?
Just my curiosity shining through again, but what did you enjoy about Duel 2 and what was wrong with the casting of Cutthroat?
I loved everything about the Duel 2 other than the "partner" missions. Great cast--solid elimination rounds--the best competitors survived and those that weren't great didn't.
Maybe not "the casting" with Cutthroat but the teams. Although I blame Camila, Emillee and Shauvon for picking the teams others wanted.
Sarah had no chance to win Rivals with Katelynn as a partner--sorry but that's nonsense. Every time with the exception of Cutthroat we can blame someone else for Sarah not winning
The Ruins--KellyAnne hurt them in the final but their horrible "male" teammates were the real problem. Still wonder if it would have been different if Brad wasn't kicked off.
Fresh Meat II--she had Vinny--no shot. Though you can blame her for picking Vinny
Rivals--she had the worst female there as her partner. Correction--maybe the worst female partner ever
Exes--Vinny got her kicked off the show
Seasons--she was clearly the best girl all season long and showed that in the final. Devyn, though I love her, killed their chances.
Sarah's not Evelyn, Laurel, Emily or Rachel but she's a top-tier competitor and has absolutely been handcuffed with bad teams/partners during her 6 challenges.
I completely agree on this she had no shot winning with Katelynn regardless. I honestly would rather have Sarah as a partner in a final over Evelyn, Emily and Laurel just because Sarah can actually keep up with the guys in running, is a good swimmer and great at puzzles.
I loved the first Duel. To me, it was the most fair challenge and I really wish they would bring back a Duel 3. I didn't think the Duel 2 was really an individual challenge because it ended up turning into pairs and you knew exactly who was going to pick who.
My rankings:
1. Battle of the Sexes
2. Battle of the Seasons (2002)
3. Gauntlet
4. Inferno
5. Battle of the Sexes II
6. Inferno II
7. Duel
8. Gauntlet II
9. Duel II
10. The Ruins
11. Battle of the Seasons (2012)
12. Gauntlet III
13. Exes (This could be lower actually, this challenge was so messy with all the people quitting, kicked off, etc. )
14. Fresh Meat
15. Rivals (My only interest was the CT/Adam dynamic)
16. Cutthroat (not too bad, just didn't stand out and would prefer better set of teams and eliminations)
17. Inferno III (could have been a better group, after the first episode it went downhill)
18. Fresh Meat II (redundant, the vets nor the fresh meats weren't as strong personality wise)
19. The Island (waste of a challenge)
Sexes I had some great missions, loved the scoreboard, loved the cast and drama. Everything about the cast and dynamic was awesome.
Seasons (2002), Sexes and Gauntlet were CLASSICS. Big casts that had cast members that we will never see again and soon the show change tremendously. The series lost its fun aspect after the Duel.

The first Duel we knew who was going to pick who as well though--at least IMO
I also didn't like alternating the M/F days but I agree about the "partners" aspect.
The Duel III is also my preference but I think that will be after the next challenge--we do really need a true team challenge again. Hopefully another Ruins (Champs vs. Challengers, Rookies vs. Veterans, New School vs. Old School--etc)

But what I loved about Duel is that the cast was rather short and although it was clear that one alliance dominated the entire game, we had moments where it crumbled. People like CT, Derrick, Kina, Evan, Robin went home after having so much control and people like Svetlana, Aneesa, Nehemiah and Wes putting their foot down and stepping up. Jodi and Brad making finals was great because they really deserved it and likable.

I don't find Jodi likable (I know I'm in the minority) and Brad wasn't exactly deserving (only won one misison and needed a DQ to get to the final) but I understand what you're saying. I still thought the Duel II was much better but it is all opinion. I also hated "I Can" as an elimination round--easily the worst elimination ever IMO

I don't understand the hate for I Can. It was a strategy game. You had to see how far you could push your opponent without going too far so as not to screw yourself. The mental game was ascender, the strength was pole wrestle, endurance was push me. I personally loved the elimination round, and it always caused controversy. See: Johnny, Diem, Aneesa. I thought it was a fantastic choice.

I was a strategy game but, iifc, didn't someone lift everything that was available? I love strategic eliminations but that one fell short but a challenge like the Duel. Use that for a Gauntlet or Ruins and I could deal with it. "I Can" for the Duel was a horrible decision IMO--JMO. If you liked it that's great
Oh, and the real issue Johnny had was Tyler's idiotic decision to call out Johnny--one of the dumbest decisions ever in a challenge

Now this I agree.
Speaking of "I Can", an elimination Eric won... EZ is a waste on Duels why was he invited for BOTH (or any challenge after Fresh Meat). Eh, I'll leave him alone.
I've only seen the challenges since Exteme Challenge, but here is my complete ranking of the 20 seasons I have seen.
20. The Island
19. Exteme Challenge
18. Gauntlet I
17. Inferno I
16. Cutthroat
15. Gauntlet III
14. Battle of the Exes
13. Duel I
12. Battle of the Seasons II
11. Fresh Meat I
10. Fresh Meat II
9. Duel II
8. Battle of the Seasons II
7. The Ruins
6. Guantlet II
5. Inferno III
4. Battle of the Sexes II
3. Battle of the Sexes I
2. Rivals
1. Inferno II

Well I respect your opinion as well. I was just stating that I hear the hate for I Can a lot, and I simply didn't understand where it came from.
I was referencing the fact that Johnny underestimated the weight of the watermelons and called Tyler out a little too early, which was the reason he was eliminated. That was the point in the game. Use your mind to figure out how much you think your opponent can lift and then try to get them past that point. I thought Diem strategy would work in theory, I thought it would've worked had she not changed it up halfway through. That was her one and only downfall, her bad strategy. I thought all four games as a whole were the perfect choices for The Duel. They each were something that you had to have to be considered the best: Strength, Mind, Endurance, and Strategy.

CT: "Careful D those things may weigh 5 to 10 pounds a piece"
Diem: "A HUNDRED AND FIFTY"

Oh my god, I diiiiied when she did that. I was rooting for her all season and then she does that and I'm like, Di! This wa your shot to take out Aneesa! What have you done?!

Sarah over Evelyn? Really? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL That's just nuts.
Dead at your excuses. She looks like she smells? You're reaching with that line. I definitely would take her over Emilee, Ayiiia, and McKenzie.
Excuses? It's my opinion. In my opinion, she looks like she smells. As in, like she doesn't shower. Not to mention she peed all over herself in a laundry basket on her season and would have food and **** all over her nasty weaves according to her castmates. So I stand by what I said. I just think she looks kind of gross. To each their own.
Yeah, "she looks like she smells" is just absurd
If people want to say no "self-respecting man would date Jonna" that would be fine. Jonna's not the girl you date and definitely not the girl you marry but she's unbelievably hot. Emilee & Ayiiia being "hotter is just laughable.
She was definitely the most attractive girl at the reunion--only Ashley is even close.
Didn't see this post, but basically same thing, it's my opinion. In your opinion, Jonna is unbelievably hot. It's completely subjective. She has beautiful eyes, so there's that I guess. I just don't see it.

Sarah over Ev as a partner isn't as dumb as it seems. It just depends on what type of motivation style you want. Luke would have been much better suited with Sarah as a partner on FM2 than Ev, but someone like Pete would have probably won with Ev. She'd definitely be better as a partner than Laurel in a final.
As for Sarah being unlucky, I think the most unlucky player ever is Brandon.
FM2-Has Katelynn as a partner, she gets hurt, they get DQed because Brandon drank a beer (as if no other player has ever competed tipsy)
Cutthroat-His team throws him in 4 times, including 3 times without Chet who was also on his 2nd challenge being thrown in.
Rivals-He climbed the rope faster than Wes, then they make up the rule that the top 2 get to compete again (heard that on a pod, not sure if it's true but still he climbed the rope faster than Wes)
Seasons-Stuck on a team with Big Easy
I don't know. She looks like she smells. I can't really explain it. I mean, sure it doesn't help that I think she has a terrible personality, but I just don't think she's attractive. So what? I'd take McKenzie, Nany, and Ashley any day of the week over her. Hell, on her season alone, Emilee and Ayiiia >>>>
lol, she does smoke and girls who smoke do smell disgusting. I get you on the looking dirty thing. I totally agree with that. There are times she looks hot but her ridiculous fake eyelashes and lackluster personality turn me off. She has a very pretty exotic look but she it also looks like she has done some drugs in her days. I am shocked that anyone could think Trishelle is unnattractive. Trishelle in my opinion is beyond gorgeous. I also don't get how people hate her personality I think she is hilarious and a genius at the game. I guess it would be a boring world though if we all had the same opinions though.

You can't just state your opinions as fact lol. I don't think she was the prettiest girl at the reunion. I thought Trishelle, Ashley, and Nany were all way prettier. But that's just my opinion. Like I stated above she exotic and could be pretty but she looks like she lives a rough life and hides her insecurities with too much make up.
Seperate topic: Nany's comments about Frank getting aids is out of line but it's one thing to attack the person involved and another to attack a family memeber not involved that didn't sign up for that and that isn't there to defend themself.
