BTW, I'm watching the new episodes that aired in Canada last night..I love Declan!
Edit: Just got done watch 904 and 906. CTV is airing them out of order so that the Delcan and Jane love story is one episode. It was really good, I'm loving season 9. And the new niner Dave is adorable.

Can you post the site that you are watching them on please?
For those who haven't seen 904 & 906, I'm not gonna give away too much but here are my thoughts so far on the season & new characters.
I like Dave. Ever since JT died Degrassi has been missing the "class clown" character , and Dave brings that back. Plus, the storyline he had going is realistic and Chantay actually might have a purpose now. He's also one of the better looking niners. JT, Toby, and Emma were so awkward and dorky when they were younger.
I think they tried to make Derek the class clown but he just came off as an ***. I'm glad he's not a main character anymore, interesting that he's not in the opening credits but Bruce the moose is.
Declan is just what the show needed. He reminds me of smoother version of season 5 Peter but better looking and a much better manipulator. I guess he's the younger version of Chuck Bass. And Fiona's beautiful.

Declan is a great character, Fiona is a great character, Dave is a great character, and Jenna is not lol. That whole Jenna/Claire/Alli storyline is boring, atleast after episode 1. Does anyone see a resemblance between Fiona and Claire? I surely do.
I never seen this preview before..

Canada really needs to stop showing these episodes two at a time. It makes the stories flow way too fast, where as if you separate them like teen nick is doing, it makes it more realistic.
OMG this season is sooo good. Degrassi is definately redeeming itself, because season 8 was horrible.
Really? I thoughty season 8 was really good, not enjoying this one as much.
Are you serious Aqua?
Season was the worst season of degrassi there ever was. The only good thing is that they introduced the niners, and brought some new characters in. other then the episodes were stupid, there were only a few episodes that were okay. "Heat of the Moment," "Heart of Glass" "Money or Nothing" maybe like 2 more but thats it. Season 9 has been killing last season with every episode.

I agree, season 8 was like a whole different show. Season 7 has been the best since season 4. Season 9 is great so far, though.
I loved "With Or Without You" from Season 8. Possibly one of my favorite episodes of Degrassi ever. It seems as if Season 8 hate is popular everywhere, no one seems to like it. I loved it. Season 9 is good too but not as good as 8.
Another thing about Season 8 is that I look at as a transition season. I mean you had characters who before had only been background charatcers, now becoming main characters, plus eight new characters to the show. This is a recipe for disaster for any show but I have to give the cast credit for holding it together. Now everyone is enjoying the fruits of Season 9. I still think Season 8 is a stellar season no matter what anyone says. I am watching "Money For Nothing" right now which is another good episode.
to me Season 8 = Season 1 because now its a whole new generation. But even still the storylines and some of the characters just werent that good. Im watching "Money for nothing" and as i mentioned that was like 1 of 4 only good episodes. In "Causing a Commotion" that was a poor way to show off somebody with aspergers syndrome. It was a horrible episode. "Jane Says" was the worst two parter. I dont like how they all of a sudden made her started thinking about her dad molesting her. They should have foreshadowed like a couple of episodes prior before it happened. Pia (Peter and Mia) are the worst couple in degrassi history, and most of the season was about them. They were forced in the first place. Season 9 is way better then 8, and its proving to be a good season.
Actually Manny was in "Close To Me" and Emma is going to be in the upcoming episode "Holiday Road." From what im hearing about rumors, The season 9 movie will be about Emma.
The reason Derek isn't on this season is because the actor who plays him is filming a movie. I think he may have left Degrassi all together. Like many other actors from this show he is pursuing something else (some people have left for college, different tv shows, movies, music careers).
Does anybody else have the impression that Fiona is a lesbian? At first I thought they were going to "go there" with her and Declan, but now I'm thinking she might be a lesbian. It could explain why she would feel "safe" going out with Riley (if she was under the impression that he was gay).
Heart Like Mine wasnt that good IMO, i like the fact that the Niners got a plot, i havent seen ali in the last couple of episodes so it was good seeing her again. But i just didnt like the plot. The break up with claire adn kc seemed force, the gun moment was stupid. i can see if KC was touched, but the coach didnt really do anything but get him a stripper...some of the stuff just didtn seem right adn it could have been better planned out.
Just realized that Canada has shown like what 14 episodes? There is only supposed to be 22..and the last one is a four parter movie. I'm confused on how this is supposed to balance out with teennick. Both networks usually end the season at the same time, sometime during the late summer.
Degrassi has been weak this season for me:/ The season when JT died and Lakehurst got mixed in with Degrassi that was awesome. But Sav's sister I can't remember her name she's annoying to me. And she's sorta pretty but why would she have gone out with Johnny!?
I miss the old Degrassi, they just keep making it worse and worse. Now that all my favorite people graduated, it's almost not even worth watching. If it wasn't for Spinner still being in it, I probably wouldn't and I think this is his last season. He's so adorable. haha
I LOVE DEGRASSI!!!
I love the concept and all, but I think it should have ended with season 7. I as well miss all the old characters, and although i do like the new ones ... its not the same. Now Degrassi is all about matching everybody together and making couples, and not really developing characters. I have not seen 1 plot in season 9 that was about a character dealing with a problem and NOT being in a relationship.
Heavy? If peter was addicted for more then 1 episode or if he would have relapsed it would have been more intense. But Peter got addicted for only 3 days and that doesnt seem realistic at all. That story line should have been spread out through a couple of episodes.
The gay episode, "Beat It" with riley was good, not so intense but was really good.
"Heart Like Me," was just wrong. Yea i enjoyed it, I liked that alli stuck up for clare. And we finally see KC and Jenna getting together. But the whole prostitute and gun situation was just awkward and uncalled for. Although they foreshadowed Kc and Jenna getting together and The Coach doing something fishy, the whole gun incident was just stupid. Why on earth would he bring a gun into school and giving KC and making him watch Videos wouldnt or shouldnt make him get a gun...
But Degrassi is not designed to have storylines over a long period of time. They just wanted to recognize the issue. Although I do agree if it was a long standing problem it would have been better.
The gun situation in Heart Like Mine was designed to show how messed up and impressionable KC actually is. From years of foster and no parents we only see KC as this kind of mature young kid who's got everything going for him. But we see how much it emotionally destroyed him. Even though he didn't have the intention of using it he just wanted to have it as a security.
Degrassi is not designed to have story lines over a long period of time????
What?? Have you not seen degrassi?
There has been many story lines that have been over a long period of time
- Craig's Infidelity in season 3 lasted like 4 episodes
- Manny and Paige's Feud lasted a couple eps in Season 4
- Darcy's **** and Paige's **** lasted a couple of episodes, Darcy's more then paiges.
- Craigs being diagnosed with bipolar lasted a couple of episodes
I have many more examples, but like i said earlier having something happen in just 1 episode and dropping it doesnt make it realisitic what so ever.
The gun situation is starting to be over used in degrassi. It was great in season 4, horrible in season 8, and now in season 9 there is no point. Yes, KC is messed up but him taking a gun and potientially trying to shoot the Coach seems a little OOC and seems a bit off.
