"These are my special operatives; The Legs, The Nose, and Mrs Robinson"
That was an awesome line. :D The interplay between The Doctor and River this season has really been kicked up a notch and I love it (even the "screamer" line, haha - spoilers!)
That monologue by River to Rory was heartbreaking because we've already seen the day she is talking about and it is every bit as painful as she expects. The room Rory and River walked into was the other TARDIS from The Lodger, right?
That monologue by River to Rory was heartbreaking because we've already seen the day she is talking about and it is every bit as painful as she expects.
It was great to see her open up, but like you said, sad. Especially because of how that arc ends.
The room Rory and River walked into was the other TARDIS from The Lodger, right?
Yes!
I thought it was the same room but was confused at first why Rory didn't recognize it from before until I remembered he was dead the first time around so he kind of missed out on that adventure. River has to be the astronaut that kills the Doctor but you would think she would react differently being back in that spot. That's what has me really confused. If killing him like that was the first time she met him, she would be crossing her own timeline by witnessing it and by seeing her future self in the distance watching it all go down. Plus her reaction to his death seemed pretty genuine. I don't know anymore! Moffat has me all confused! Who is River? What is my life?!?!
I don't want to think it is River for the very reasons you state that it should not be her. She seems genuinely upset at the events, as well as not being familiar with The Silence or the person in the suit, which if her, she should be aware of being it would have already happened. I'm going to have to let this unfold a bit more as I can't get my head around it and it "hurts" trying!
My head is definitely hurting too and that is not even counting trying to work out if the pregnancy is real or not! **** you Moffat!
My head is definitely hurting too and that is not even counting trying to work out if the pregnancy is real or not! **** you Moffat!
Last time she was pregnant it was a dream, so you never know! The pregnancy is very strange. Especially because she HAD to tell him at that very moment. Couldn't it wait? Then moments later we see Amy pick up a gun and shoot at a child in a space suit... Mind bending stuff. p.s. Thinking deeply about The Silence is very disturbing. I'm on my couch and fear they might be right behind me. I keep checking, but I think that I might be having my memories continually wiped as they crawl right up behind my head while I type this.... I've even checked the "my pictures" folder just to see if I snapped any shots with my webcam as evidence, haha.

And they wanted her to tell the Doctor that she saw him die, right? I don't know why they would want her to announce a pregnancy.
p.s. Thinking deeply about The Silence is very disturbing. The crack from last season began with creating a story around a crack about his sons bed. If your dad told you that I would have constant nightmares that it would open up while I slept and sucked me into it's light wiping me from existence. Then the angels which would make any kid petrified of statues and now monsters that make you forget them the second you look away. Can they be in your dreams? And if so, is that why we forget some dreams the second we wake up even if they were so vivid a second before? Sweet dreams tonight Bacchus. Have fun sleeping now.

I didn't think she would tell The Doctor about The Silence as I have a feeling a situation will arise where she finds the picture on her phone and that will trigger the memory.
Sweet dreams tonight Bacchus. Have fun sleeping now.
I'm going to have to keep Zeus very close tonight for protection. :)

So I still don't buy it. I might have both my cats sleep with me tonight but I also fear that they will startle me awake in the middle of a scary dream and creep me out even more. Decisions, decisions.

Still, I think that comment means something as we already found out his off hand comment about his age proved to be a major plot point. I took a shot of actor Mark Sheppard and a shot of the Astronaut that kills The Doctor and to me the ****** hair under his lip matches up (although it could just be an artifact, lol.) I am fitting in an encore viewing before the Red Sox game. "I'm being extremely clever up here and there is no one around to stand around looking impressed. What's the point of having you all?"

I tried to pause it and rewind right when the mask lifts like your screenshot but it's still too hard to tell. I do agree that the chin looks masculine but I'm not sure how I feel about it being Mark Sheppard. Does that mean he is a time traveler now? And why would the Doctor invite his future self to witness it? I guess since he could actually confirm that the Doctor is dead being the one to kill him but it still seems odd because the Doctor has always been against having people cross their own timeline. Hate Doctor Who and the BBC in general. Anyway if the BBC is selling all its shows around the world, why the **** isn't my TV licence fee coming down, thieving ********.
Cool story, brah.
Cool story, brah.
It is also a true story.
Sheppard is a stretch. I agree that The Doctor is against timeline crossing. The one thing that stands out is that 2011 Mark Sheppard knows definitively that the dead man is indeed The Doctor. I don't think you can be definitive if you just read a note on a blue postcard that says:
Meet here, bring gas. p.s. That is really me and I'm really dead.
But, maybe you can? Could this is simpler than we are allowing it to be? How about the person in the Astronaut suit that kills The Doctor is the "little girl" in the Astronaut suit from 1969? There is another time machine there. Occam's Razor, right? I think that no matter how it went down, The Doctor set up the circumstances that lead to his death so that the future could somehow be changed (without paradox.) I don't believe for a second that we leave this season with it locked in that the 11th Doctor is the last. So, either there is going to be some deux ex machina action, or something brilliant that I can't even fathom at this point. Here's hopping its the latter!

Steven Moffat wants DW to continue long after his reign and there is no way he would make it so Matt Smith was the last person to ever play the Doctor. He loves the show too much to set an end date. I agree that events can be changed because he seems to be the one to have put them in motion. When he said "I'm sorry" as he was dying it was more like he was sorry he had to put everyone through this in order to get where they needed to go. Like he had to kill himself in front of his gang so he could get them to go back to 1969 and set other wheels in motion so they could avoid future events that probably aren't meant to happen. Even fro far away it looked like he was instructing the astronaut on what to do. He pointed at the gun and lowered his head as if he was waiting for them to pull the trigger. He probably even invited the astronaut there to do the deed knowing they were a person or creature that trusted the Doctor enough to pull the trigger if it was a plan to set things right. It could be Sheppard since future him stayed so far away from what I assume is past him in the suit. He only came close once the astronaut went away which may have been part of his instructions from the Doctor to avoid crossing timelines. He already knew that he wouldn't see them again in his life so he definitely knows more about the scenario than he was able to tell being the only other one who had lived through whatever went down in 1969. Everyone who saw the screening of both parts said that it was fantastic so I trust in Moffat that it won't be some lame outcome. Oh and I saw the Silence b-day card earlier and loved it. Poor Silence. No one ever comes to the party. :(
Another teaser for Torchwood: Miracle Day YouTube - Torchwood: Miracle Day - Teaser
'shopped, but still funny.
He needs a fez! Perfect hat for the occasion. B, have you seen this promo yet? It's the first glimpse I've seen of the Torchwood gang in action. You can catch them around the 0:45 mark and a bit of Jack running in the streets towards the beginning. YouTube - BBC Original Drama Trailer for Current Season including Doctor Who & Torchwood New Doctor Who in an hour and a half! My friend says the last few minutes will blow our minds!
I am literally sick with anticipation. I have butterflys! (Torchwood.) As far as tonight's episode, I am counting down the seconds.
I heard BBCA got great ratings with the highest ever for a telecast! Hopefully that means a lot more promotion here in the states so we can get more fans. I guess it didn't do too well in the UK though. Do they not like the Moffat era or Matt Smith over there? I haven't heard a lot of negative reactions about either of them so it kind of surprised me that it didn't do to well. The ratings did drop as the season went on last year but I thought it might have returned with at least a good premiere.
I am still so confused. **** you Moffat!!
I am still so confused. **** you Moffat!!
I got really excited when the little girl started to regenerate! I don't know what to think either, but it looks like it is going to be a fun ride. Some people think it's Jenny, but I don't. I think it's more like The Silence somehow created a baby between Amy and the Doctor. Both River and Amy had the same sickness thing so maybe they tried to do it to all the females until they found the right "host", if you will. But how can she be pregnant and not pregnant at the same time? Are there multiple timelines running at the same time and in one timeline she is pregnant creating this child and in another she's not and that is the timeline that can undo the child and even the Doctor's death? I'm really interested to see who she regenerates into! I am glad that next week seems like just a fun hour spent with the crew because my brain needs a vaca from Moffat craziness.
Some things to consider when thinking about just how long The Silence have been around. You're my weak spot. - Sightings of the Silence or indications of their presence in Series 5:
Some things to consider when thinking about just how long The Silence have been around.
I'm now going to have to watch all those episodes again in order to verify this theory. ****it! ;)
Haha, I went back and watched the parts mentioned already! Some I thought could be Silence, others were just more confusion that fit with the story. I had also heard that there was graffiti somewhere in season 4 that said "silence will fall". I forget where I read that so I'll have to look back and see if it has any truth to it. The most interesting one was from Big Bang where she said that there was a figure that moved in the foreground. And it definitely looks like part of a coat or pant that moves off screen just as Amy and little Amy get up to find the Doctor. I'm not sure if it's just a mistake that they didn't notice and someone forgot to get out of the shot or if it is supposed to be a shadowy figure!
