Fresh Meat II: Episode 6

This episode was just...ugh. I love Evelyn, but she made a ton of bad decisions this time around. 1) Her team with Jenn was a lot stronger than Wes and CJ's. What on earth made her think that they had a better chance of beating Kenny than her own team? 2) Why would you throw your own alliance under the bus? Not only are they losing their members, no one will EVER trust her again. I feel like that point is one that Wes and Ev don't realize at all...even if you are a strong player, if you screw your own alliance, you won't have on any more. I understand that someone from their alliance had to go in, but I don't get why they keep VOTING in their own people. Kenny at least stays true to his own, and him taking the bullet for Jill and Pete proves that. 3) Why isn't it Wes' turn to go in? Honestly, I think he should have gone in last time. There's no reason why he shouldn't right now. 4) **** off Landon, whose team is probably stronger than hers...smart move, right there. Like I said, I always rooted for Evelyn, but I'm starting to wish she would have stayed like she was before--there to compete and win, not make deals. I honestly think she would do better. And poor Lando...he's not cut out for the challenges any more. Scheming doesn't sit will with him, and the game has changed too much. I wish there were more like him to take the challenges back. And I wanna know what really did go down, if Sydney says that's not how it happened.

However, I can understand how one can have some ill will towards someone like Kenny from past challenges. She was treated horribly on The Island, used on The Ruins, and imo Gauntlet 3 when they persuaded her to go after Coral vs meatballs like Robin, Diem, or Casey. She has made some bad decisions on this challenge, but ths could have all been avoided if they would have given Danny what they promised him last week. They would still have the majority, and worse case, with Ryan gone and the numbers in their favor, it would have been Wes or Ev vs Jenn/Noor, a team they would have beaten and shrunk Kenny's alliance by 2 more teams which would have placed pressure on him to keep winning challenges and allowed the potential for their dream match of Kenny vs Jillian

Sometimes those kinds of things cloud your judgment. And honestly, I think the best idea last week would have been to put Wes against Ryan...too bad Wes is a big fat pansy.

Because in their eyes, she is still secretly in their alliance. They don't know she is beginning to sway towards Kenny's side yet.
Oh and I completely understand why Evelyn has such a grudge towards Kenny and owes him ZERO favors due to past challenges...but I do wish she would concentrate more on winning on her own, because she is capable of doing that.
I too am confused as to why they voted in 2 teams from their alliance...with that said, though, I can understand why they didn't go after Jenn. Wes and Evelyn are supposed to be one of the stronger players out of everyone on these challenges, why would it be so awful to go in? Then they would have only lost one member of their alliance instead of losing two. Wes especially, Evelyn already went in even though it was because someone picked her. I'm also pretty confused though. Most likely, either Wes and Mandi or Evelyn and Luke would have had no trouble beating Ryan and Theresa.
I don't believe the whole "if Wes/Ev focused on winning rather then Kenny they would be winning right now". Ev said her ultimate goal was to win with burning Kenny being the next most important thing. Wes is no different now then he was on Duel and Ruins. He's the same size, same mouth, same abilities. It's just that he isn't that good. The Kenny/Laurel team is just too strong for them to beat. You really think Wes can make up for the poor performance by Mandi? You really think that all of a sudden Wes would actually be able to carry Mandi across those sticks? You really think all of a sudden Wes would become ultra strong and push Kenny and Pete back? No, I don't think so. By making sure Kenny doesn't win, that would mean THEY have to win. But guess what? It ain't happening.

He isn't a superhuman that can push two 200lb men if the two girls on his team are getting absolutely crushed on the other side.
As we have seen and may see, I think Carly is Laurel's equal on this challenge so let's not crown Kenny/Laurel the ultimate unbeatably best team. I have to believe it was her letting go of the log that cost Landon's team the loss in the first round. Ryan/Theresa would mop the floor in any event with Wes/Mandi. Not only is Theresa the superior woman (perhaps not by much but it is what it is), but Wes doesn't look nearly as good as he has in the past. His desperation has turned him into a fat ripe meatball. As soon is it was stated that it would be Wes+CJ+girls in the final against Pete/Kenny, I knew exactly what would happen. Pete/Kenny are both bigger than Wes/CJ so the exhaustion factor really wasn't one.
This challenge has done the one thing I never thought possible..Im a fan of Mr. Beautiful.
I'm more a fan of Kenny this time around than his alliance members. Arrogance suits him nicely but not so much for Jill & Jenn.
This challenge has done the one thing I never thought possible..Im a fan of Mr. Beautiful.
LOL I know, right? I can't exactly say I'm a fan, but at least he isn't screwing over his own allies...although it helps that he has a really dominant female who is helping him win.
God I hate this, that Kenny needs Laurel to win ****, he does fairly good himself. I doubt Laurel would do just as good if she had.. Ryan/Wes/CJ as her partners.
Wes and Ev were both idiots in this episode. Oh, and I loved how Kenny went on and on about not screwing friends over. Remember The Island, Kenneth? I believe you stabbed your good friend Paula in the back there. I know he's kept to his word this season but it's only been because he isn't in majority. When he has been, he's just as bad as Wes.
He promised Paula he would take her to the end. He promised Paula the final...and promised Evelyn a spot in his boat. He kept his word on both accounts -- even when he and Ev hated each other he kept his word. I'm not a Kenny fan, but I have to respect that at least.
I just saw this on Syd's twitter:
He promised Paula he would take her to the end. He NEVER promised Paula he would put her on his boat.
Thank you for saying this Molds.
I just saw this on Syd's twitter:
I still can't believe it took them that long.
God I hate this, that Kenny needs Laurel to win ****, he does fairly good himself. I doubt Laurel would do just as good if she had.. Ryan/Wes/CJ as her partners.
Are you serious right now. Even if you hate Wes it's blatantly obvious that Laurel is absolutely dominate on the girls side. Wes is arguably the second strongest guy there. The strongest girl and guy in the whole show got last pick. Kenny is no slouch but theres no denying that he lucked out with his partner. Put Wes/Evelyn vs Kenny/Laurel and make them go head to head. Mandi, beautiful and seems sweet, but she was disasterous in the log challenge.
He promised Paula he would take her to the end. He NEVER promised Paula he would put her on his boat.
Yea I agree, false assumption on her part. KEJ do a very good job of making others feel wanted and special up until they don't need them. Wes and Evelyn just can't seem to do that as efficiently.
He promised Paula he would take her to the end. He NEVER promised Paula he would put her on his boat.
If that's true, then why did he apologize to her?
If that's true, then why did he apologize to her?
Because apparently Paula translated "I will take you to the end" as "I will put you on my boat and row you over there myself".
I found this online...it's the same tangram shape that took Sydney and CJ over a hour to complete. I'm not going to lie, it only took me about 2 minutes :) This just makes me wonder, are they just not that great at puzzles? Tangram Fish
Exactly...he actually kept his word on The Island by allowing Evelyn in his boat. He promised Paula the final...and promised Evelyn a spot in his boat. As for his performance this season, admittingly he has done well, and while he has the benefit of having a strong partner, Luke imo has a stronger partner, which should give some indication to how well Kenny is doing. He had no help in turnstyle last week, and he has done more than his share to propel his team. My opinion has always been that Kenny is unproven in individual elimination rounds and never stood out as a leader in challenges. This challenge has changed my mentality of him. I am very curious to see how'd he perform in a Duel 3 setting.
I re-watched this episode and I believe had it been Landon vs Kenny, Landon would have won. Kenny is bigger but the reason the Landon/Ryan team lost was because Pete is stronger then Ryan and Landon just can't push against 2 guys. Ryan - that back to the log idea is just stupid. Don't do it anymore, like how you did vs Nehemiah in G3.

Anyway, I was really upset that Landon and Ryan lost that round. This mission was so confusing!

It seemed as if Ryan couldn't gain any ground with his back to the log, rather that he was holding his own ground better that way. I still believe that if Ryan was teamed up with Landon, Landon would have won. And how the **** did a warmed up Wes and CJ lose to an exhausted Kenny and Pete? Wow.
And how the **** did a warmed up Wes and CJ lose to an exhausted Kenny and Pete? Wow.
I was actually extremely disappointed in both of them for that. From what I saw, it looked like they lost because Sydney and Mandi were getting manhandled by Jill and Laurel, both of who were a bit more rested up than their male partners. But thats just me.
