Yay! Jesse's back!

Since nobody has talked about it since it started, just wanted to say I finally saw the first 2 episodes of the Glee Project and it is really not a bad show. People aren't all cut-throat and some of them are fairly talented. The judges are complete nut cases in my opinion, but the contestants are chill.

Wow, that was kinda quick.
I read a rumor about a Spin-off called "The new direction"
I read a rumor about a Spin-off called "The new direction"
Probably just a rumor. I read an excerpt from an interview with one of the creators (forget which one) where he blew off a suggestion of a spin-off. I've seen some general plot spoilers for season 3 this week as well that were pulled from various interviews with writers/creators.
Call me a negative Nancy, but I don't think this show will be the same after the usuals leave. :/
Call me a negative Nancy, but I don't think this show will be the same after the usuals leave. :/
I'm with you on this one. They need the original cast for it to work.
Call me a negative Nancy, but I don't think this show will be the same after the usuals leave. :/
Could be better, you never know. They are supposed to be bringing in 6 new writers and introducing the new cast slowly over the season. Some of the characters are so rigid/flat that there's not much they could really do with them that would be new or interesting--like Finn and Rachel. Where could you really go with that? They are hinting that some of the seniors might not graduate (Brittany was specifically mentioned as maybe being too dumb to pass). Sue running for Congress is supposed to be in 20 episodes and they are only anticipating 1 tribute episode, so it could breath some new life into the show. I felt like as many episodes of season 2 were just singing episodes as were real storyline episodes, so I'm kind of stoked at the idea of the show being reworked. Some of the Glee Project pool seem real talented--I just hope that the real life Rachel type girl (who's pretty hot actually) or the Little Person guy don't either win, but the others could be interesting characters.
Call me a negative Nancy, but I don't think this show will be the same after the usuals leave. :/
I'm kind of with you on this one. I really think this past season, even with the originals, it was lacking the greatness of Season 1. I'm hoping if they do graduate they go out with a bang.

The interviews I have seen from some of the Glee blog sites make it sound like it is going to be a slow pullback of the stories of the graduating characters over the course of the season.
I thought originally the writers weren't going to have the usuals graduate ever. They were just going to ignore that part of life. I'm glad to see they've changed their minds, but it will be really weird having different people. Then again, season 2 was beyond corny and not very enjoyable, so maybe a new cast is what we need.

This sucks.
Chord plays Sam, right? What are they going to do about the Sam/Mercedes storyline?
Chord plays Sam, right? What are they going to do about the Sam/Mercedes storyline?
Apparently, not very much.
This show jumped the shark so much over the last season. During the first season I'd get excited to watch the new shows the night they premiered, during the second I let them add up on my DVR and finally gave up on the entire show two episodes before the finale. I just couldn't watch it any more. It's excruciating. The guy who is behind this show is the same guy who made Nip/Tuck and the same thing happened to that show......but at least with N/T we got three amazing seasons before it self imploded. :(

And..... This is the last season I will be watching.

And Finn is entertaining too...I hope this upcoming season is amazing!!
And..... This is the last season I will be watching.
I agree.... What is Glee without Lea Michele, Chrif Colfer and Cory Montheith(sp?). It's strange IMO.
Next season is going to be critical for the show. They have to tie up the storylines for Rachel, Finn, and Kurt, while giving more screen time to the supporting cast because they will become the main cast in Season 4. Ryan Murphy and Co. definitely have some hard work to do.

He also said that just because they graduate they won't be leaving the show. I wonder if the Glee Project winner will get more episodes now that Chord Overstreet quit for good. I am guessing it will be Damien.
I'm probably in the minority, but I'm kind of glad to see those three are going to be gone. I have no issues with any of their characters, but they get the bulk of the airtime and it'll be nice to see more background characters like Quinn, Santana, Artie, etc. get more airtime. I could have sworn that in season one all of the Glee kids were sophomores. I guess only Finn, Rachel, and Kurt were though. So pretty much the entire Glee club that year was filled with freshmen. Ha. Also, Sam quit for good? I just didn't think he was going to be a regular anymore.

I had a bad feeling when Ryan said "No matter what happens tonight, I think you will always be a performer." or something along those lines.

Seemed like maybe there is some backfighting direction-control fights between the producers/creators. They more or less have tossed out any sense of who is in what grade and they might not even graduate them now as was discussed earlier. Murphy seemed pretty frustrated in the interview. He also said they (He and Falchuk) had another new show they were working on not Glee related and they were just going to focus their efforts there for now. Here is one of the articles I read: EXCLUSIVE: Glee’s Ryan Murphy Talks For First Time About Spinoff & Firings Missteps – Deadline.com Brad Falchuk said at Comic Con that they offered Chord Overstreet a ten-episode contract for Fall with the expectation he would get his big promotion to a long-term contract in January but he said no. He may have other opportunities and it was the big-contract now or not at all was how I read it, and the show wouldn't do it. Makes no sense to me that they didn't give him a contract now if they were going to do it in six months anyway.
