I know they tried to throw in some humor this episode with the crazy intern love triangle, but overall there was definitely a subdued tone. I actually didn't mind Meredeth this week. Maybe it is because she is more a scene filler than the star (which would be Izzy.) It also could be because I have not seen that Punk'd video in a few months... The scene with the Chief and Derrek was good. I am growing tired of angry, wallowing Derrek so maybe he has turned the corner. The ending was very touching with all the crew at Izzy's side. Overall a good episode.

I agree with every point you made Bacc. I did like this episode though it did have kind of a looming sadness since we all knew what was coming. A few highlights for me: -Yeah, the intern drama was a little forced, but I did like the scene where Mer and George (George!) were talking to Bailey about it and she basically gave them the whole "I know I am [I]not[/I] hearing this from the interns that did the same thing and gave me all these headaches" look. I found that to be kind of a clever parallel. -I really liked Mark and Lexie's story this week. When they were working together I could see them in the long run as a married plastic-surgery team. :) And I love how she showed everyone up in the end and just started making out with him like "What. What you got now?!" I really love Lexie's character. -Izzie. Oh [I]finally[/I] the cat's out of the bag. Looks like even robot Christina found something she couldn't handle alone. The last couple minutes where just [I]so[/I] touching...showing the montage of everyone finding out, showing up, rallying around her and putting her in a bed.....Oh my heart just breaks for what is coming up for Alex. -I also kind of liked the scenes with all the attendings chillin' on Derek's porch, getting drunk, sharing stories. Yes Derek is being all self-absorbed, but hopefully he'll SNAP OUT OF IT. Like, quick. SAVE IZZIE! Good show again, good show.

I know I am all late but this episode had me in tears by the end but I realized that my tears were not necessarily for Izzie...I was tearing up for Alex and the pain that he is going to have to go through on his own time so as not to let Izzie see how bad he is hurting.
