House Of Food
MTV’s “House of Food” is a drama-infused take on food TV where a group of young aspiring chefs with no formal culinary training are put to the ultimate challenge. “House of Food” is a one hour, weekly docu-series that combines the exciting real-life competitive elements of culinary school, with the dramatic setting of a house reality show. The students have been chosen for their passion for cooking and food culture, and their backgrounds are as varied as their personalities. With three of the country’s best chefs as their teachers and the city of Los Angeles as their classroom, this determined group will live and learn together but only one will win an apprenticeship of a lifetime. Airs every Monday at 10pm est! It's actually not that bad. The premier was cool, some good personalities, and I love food! So there's that... Have to agree... no that bad!! haha The Real World meets ***** Kitchen.. sorta works. Plus the drama looks promising.. inside and outside of the kitchen!
What is with MTV casting people with gauges??? Between Jaime (RW) and Amanda that's 2 gauge girls on MTV shows currently airing. Sorry but that stuff just grosses me out. Might not have to deal with it much longer because it doesn't seem like Amanda will last long....
I just started watching it tonight because one of the episodes happened to be on. Surprisingly it's actually a good show. Some of these people should not be chefs, though. Meat cupcakes? Really?
Last night was another good episode. I'm loving the divide in the house, I'm siding more with Will, Suki, and Amanda. They're just more entertaining. I like Harrison as well. The season preview looks promising.
Suki looks so familiar but I can't pinpoint from where...
Scrubbin In. I said the same thing TS. lol. Her and the gay boy Will need to go. They do nothing but follow each other behinds.

ETA: Harrison is becoming one of the better characters. Lorena is cool too. The asian boy, the white boy are just wall paper. Danielle too. As for the gay boy and Suki, can't stand Will and then Suki is playing it up. There's no way her lines and attitude aren't scripted or pre-thought about.
Suki and Will **** me off! They think they're real but they are fake af!!! Harrison is dope too
Suki and Will **** me off! They think they're real but they are fake af!!! Harrison is dope too
Nah, well maybe Will but I think Suki says exactly how she feels (which is the reason why the other 4 don't like her).
Does anybody else think that fight was staged? Lorena's "that was my drink" line seemed random.
Why does everyone think everything is fake in every reality show
Why does everyone think everything is fake in every reality show
Yea people may react a different way because of the cameras but I don't think they're reading scripts or anything like that. "That was my drink" was probably her way of getting camera time.
Why does everyone think everything is fake in every reality show
KUWTK there I said it.
Does anybody else think that fight was staged? Lorena's "that was my drink" line seemed random.
Yes, I think the fight between Amanda and Harrison was staged. Firstly, it seemed to start out of nowhere. Wasn't like Real World fights that occur after way too much drinking by cast members. Secondly, are we supposed to believe that a guy and girl were tossing GLASSES at each other, without any injuries and without anyone getting kicked off the show? Were they even tossing real glasses or fake ones? Wouldn't glass tossing be worse than punching, which used to be the standard for getting kicked off MTV shows? Furthermore, I think Amanda's "quitting" in episode 1 and returning in episode 2 (after Harrison had already "replaced" her) was also staged. Reasons I think that are: First, why go on a show like this and immediately tell the chefs you don't want the job? Second, Amanda hasn't shown any indication of wanting to quit after returning in the second episode. Third, 8 contestants just works a lot better for the purposes of the competition than 7 would. 8 can be divided into 2 teams of 4 or into 4 teams of 2, and they can even divide into equal boys vs girls teams which we know is coming in a future episode.
And by the way, the blue glass that Harrison tossed can clearly be seen to be intact for a full second after the "glass shattering" sound effect that was added by production. Then after 1 second it hit the ground and a small piece of the glass broke off although it still remained largely intact.
Amanda clearly threw a beer can at Harrison (not a glass) although production used a "glass breaking" sound effect when she did it. Can't tell what item Harrison tossed the first time, but both objects he tossed were aimed to the left of Amanda rather than at her.
I don't even care... this show is great entertainment haha :P
I don't even care... this show is great entertainment haha :P
Suki sucks though.
Suki sucks though.
Suki, Will, Harrison, and Amanda are the only ones making this show MTV worthy... The two guys and Lorena and Gillian should've been on a regular cooking show.

Any idea why it's so late tonight? At least east coast it is... 12 midnight is when it airs tonight here and its usually 11.
I stand by Harrison for everything that has happened here. From the minute he came inside the house they (Suki and Will) treated him as inferior and constantly insulted him, even when Harrison made dinner for the house. They are constantly treating him as if he is nothing, any person would get upset if they were always getting picked on for doing absolutely nothing. And then they try to look at him as crazy because he had all that built up anger from all the insults they have been giving him since he stepped in the house. That said, I understand why Harrison blew up both times and I PERSONALLY would not have given Suki an apology because she is incredibly rude (The audacity of her to ask Harrison for a SECOND apology in last night's episode, lol ok). I don't get how Suki, Will and Amanda are "good entertainment". They are annoying and it is quite blatant that they are trying too hard (Especially Will) to be the bad guys. Like they aren't funny at all.

I liked how Chef Casey had them work in partners whom dont get along. Hopefully this seclusion between the two groups gets settled.

It keeps getting pushed back for 16 and pregnant reruns...are the ratings that bad?! I actually really like the show but it's brutual to stay up til midnight on a Monday night for a show
Ratings haven't been here for the show. First 2 episodes that aired at 10pm got 510,000 and 348,000 viewers. After that the show was pushed back to 11pm, then 12am, and now appears to be cancelled completely after 8 episodes. Second MTV show I noticed cancelled mid-season recently. They also stopped "Time's Up" after 6 episodes.

Why, so they can just show more 16 and pregnant reruns?! Ridiculous. They can't even put the rest online?! maybe (wishful thinking) they just didn't air it because it was technically (but not really) Memorial Day? I liked that it was a show produced by Mtv that wasn't complete smut. Plus I wanted to know the deal between Harrison and Amanda :X
