If you add the phrase "In my opinion," or "It looked like," then I'm with you. To make a statement of fact as your sentence implies, places your feet in concrete and only invites agreement with your position unless someone is inclined to fight with you. With a somewhat more diplomatic approach one might become engaged in an interesting discussion with someone who disagrees. Certainly the later method is more likely to get Kim (or any other reality cast person or A list actor) involved in a discussion, which I must assume to be the preference of the overall membership. I'd ask people to think long-term here. Cast members don't often visit forums and engage with intelligent fans (trust me, there are **** few intelligent fans at iamonmtv.com). This site can be that place where they can come and engage with smart people. We're attracting more and more of them every day. It would be nice if sometime in the not to distant future, "stars" felt they had to come to vevmo for validation -- and be expected to answer the tough questions you will have for them.
All well said....Thanks V1 :clapping:
I Was Really Hoping That You'd Clear That Up Nick! I'm Friends With You On Facebook And I Saw Your Pics And I Clearly Saw You Around Of Black People In Your Pictures So I Knew It's Not Like You Thought You Were A Sellout Or Tryna Be White However You May Put It. You're From New Rochelle, Yes, And It's Kinda White There But I Knew That As A Jamaican You Weren't A Sellout To Your Race. I Watched The Dailies Today And It Totally Confused Me And Make Me Think That Everything I Thought About You Was Wrong... It's Really Good You Cleared It Up Because A Lot Of People May Have Gotten The Wrong Impression Of That. I'll Tell My Friends When Wednesdays Episode Airs What Exactly You Said Here And How It Was Twisted For Entertainment.
Really..Im not worried about what people think. Iv got nothing to hide or lie about.. people say "where your accent" umm I can turn it off and on just like I turn my slang off for a job interview. People are dumb. My ENTIRE family is jamaican and I speak some serrious Patois when Im home.. and you can Ask DAVE cause hes been to my house one 4 different occasions and hes startin to pick it up hahaha.. he loves hims\ some jerk chicken and my aunt specially makes oxtail when she knows Daves coming by! New Rochelle is like a suburb/city there is literally a line that separates the two and i actually lived on it (CHAUNCEY AVE STAND UP!! haha) I got the best of both world and I credit me being exposed to soo much for my personality and ability to easily adapt. If me dating white women bothers anyone soo much that they feel the need to "spit venom" then they got aloot more problems than what meets the eye. Anyways..Im not concerned about those who dont like or care for me.. "it cost you nothing, so pay me no mind"...Im concerned with those who are with me.. cause.... its a movement baby! :) Grand hustle..
Nick, Wha Gwaan? I have been living in Jamaica for two years now, originally Trinidadian. It is FINALLY GOOD TO SEE A PROUD WEST INDIAN ON THE REAL WORLD. Trust me we waiting for years! Boy do your thing, don't let anyone get you down. (When man get a likkle buss dem like fi bring him ****, but no bodda! yuhzimi you keep shining) Nuff Respect
Dang, am I the only person not watching the dailies??
Nope
Nope
I don't do the dallies either unless directed to a specific video by someone on this forum. It's like gorging on the salad bar at Sizzler while waiting for your main course. It might taste great and take away the hunger pains, but spoils the entree....
I browse the Dailies from time to time just cause I tend to wait for the show to come around to see the full drama going down. Now if the dailies was live and we got to watch the cast real time then I might go on there more often but that probably won't happen.
.. and I was just wondering the other day whether any West Indians have been on RW. I'm Trinidadian, like Ashes, and I must say, its refreshing to know the WI is being represented! Nick, I love me my jerk chicken and oxtail too! :) I've been lurking and reading posts for a while, but when I saw people repping I had to come out of the shadows! As far as people taking the things they see on the show and on the Dailies site at face value, I'm amazed. I'm not from the US (as mentioned above) and I'm not familiar with what was said about black women not liking black men to date outside their race - is that a normal thing? Why is that?

Hey Nick...I'm getting married in Jamaica next week! (Negril) Anything I shouldn't miss out on while I'm there? :)
Hey Nick...I'm getting married in Jamaica next week! (Negril) Anything I shouldn't miss out on while I'm there? :)
If you are going to be in Negril you can't miss Rick's Cafe! There is a must go, you can cliff dive into the ocean from there. That is where I love New York 2 was when the guy cliff jumped for NewYork's heart. If you want to hit the beast head to Magaritaville. As for SurfnSun, Nice to meet you....it is refreshing to see Caribbean members. I have a unique situation, I was born in the US but moved to Trinidad when I was 10days old and have been living in Jamaica for the past 2 years. I am re-migrating back to Trinidad soon though but again 100% Caribbean and so happy that we being represented. From what I gather, to your question, there are racial tensions that exist. I can feel for Nick because Jamaica's population 97% black. So people have alot of Black pride and so forth in the country. I can understand him when he says people are coming down hard on him because black pride something that is important to the people of Jamaica and rightfully so. When Busta Mante, and Marcus Garvey and Nanny and the Maroons fought for freedom it was Jamaica they all originated from. I find also in America Black women are a bit possessive as well and African Americans do tend to try to stick together. I can say I am of East Indian descent and I would not call Jamaica a racial place. It is a nice and wonderful place. Black women however do tend to get possessive of black men and try to keep them for themselves (but I think this is just human nature for the most part), I do not know if this is a world wide thing but you guys need to understand those of you not from the Caribbean, the islands are very small, Jamaica being the most populated only has about 2 million people, some of the islands only have 300,000 people that populate it, so there is alot of unnecessary talking and self preservation going on sometime. All in all though people have to get over their issues and insecurities. Jamaica, Trinidad & the US are sweet places, everyone is going to have an opinion that we may or may not agree with. One thing we can all agree on is that we are part of the human race. Please do not assume anything I am saying are the thoughts and feeling of Nick they are just my opinions about the issue. Nick, if I am wrong or you disagree in anyway maybe you can clear things up because I never grew up in Jamaica so I cannot know 100%.

Why is that?
Welcome! And as far as I'm concerned, people should date who they want, regardless of race or anything!! Not to make it sound harsh, but, with America being such a melting pot, some people get jealous or territorial or call it what you want and get upset when people date outside their "race".
Thanks for the welcome and the explanations! I think most countries are slowly but surely becoming a melting pot, thats why I was kinda surprised to hear that this kinda stuff is still so prevalent. I'm one of those people who frequent the dailies.. I'm addicted! At first I used to try to stay away because I didn't want the show to be spoiled, but I finished my last uni exam recently and I had a lot more time on my hands, and I thought, why not!
Example.. I tend to mostly date white and spanish woman..
in that case, are you single? haha i'm just kidding (kind of) p.s. i think we went to the same university.

I am curious to know as well killer-tofu! :) Maybe we can protect you, you can tell us and trust us lol
I am who I am.. and I think if your not hurting anyone with your choices it shouldnt bother you.... I was vocal about my preference throughout my casting process and to "test" me.. the even sent me on a date with a black girl.. We got alooong GREAAAT too haha...
I think life is too short, and you should love who you love. However, being a black female I do understand why so many of us get upset. The mainstream media does an excellent job of making us feel and seem undesirable. So, the perceived rejection from some black men for lighter and brighter does hurt. I don't want you to think I'm ragging on you. I'm really just trying to warn you.
I'm not from the US (as mentioned above) and I'm not familiar with what was said about black women not liking black men to date outside their race - is that a normal thing? Why is that?
It would be hard to explain to someone not from the US. You'd have to understand the historical baggage US blacks have been holding on to. And, the gap that's growing between black men and women here. We're getting to a place where black women far outnumber black men in earning degrees, and making money. And, it's hard to find a black man that doesn't already have kids, isn't in jail, has a job, and is educated. That's not a stereotype that's mother ***** statistics. So, when we see one that's all of the above and not interested in black women it ticks us off.

So do I. Thanks!
same here... i get it better now... i used to be so confused at why black women in particular were so against biracial relationships when it comes to their men
who were you hiding from?
i sent you a pm... its really not all that interesting
