There are a bunch of pretty funny women they could have used, including a couple from MTV's own casting stable.
Coral immediately comes to mind.
Coral immediately comes to mind.
I've never seen Coral do comedy or act for that matter. I was thinking more of Christina Pazsitzky (RR: Australia) whose standup comedy is a riot, and Jacinda Barrett (RW: London) who has appeared in several film comedies to critical acclaim. Susie Meister Butler and Johanna Botta are also very funny people and have real acting skills which they developed post-reality TV. [I've also seen Seth Rogen and Paula Poundstone together on stage. I left that comedy club in LA in pain from laughing way too hard.]
The ladies you mentioned would be great as well and have actual acting experience. Coral, despite not acting, has always been funny and quick-witted; I think she would fit in with those guys.
Entertainment Weekly labeled this season of “The Real World” one of 2013′s worst shows in its year-end issue.
Entertainment Weekly labeled this season of “The Real World” one of 2013′s worst shows in its year-end issue.
What do they cite as the reasons why?
What do they cite as the reasons why?
Boring cast members, lack/repetitive story lines, poor ratings and Obviously Nia that according to them she wasn't real at all.
They'll likely say it was Nia going gangsta on her roomies.
I don't think it was that, I actually agree with them about Nia not being real.
I don't think it was that, I actually agree with them about Nia not being real.
There are certain parts that wasn't real with her but I feel like she was one of the most honest people there. Her and Jordan are the only people who made the show worth watching.
There are certain parts that wasn't real with her but I feel like she was one of the most honest people there. Her and Jordan are the only people who made the show worth watching.
I agree on the Jordan part for me he was real with all his flaws and insecurities...Then telling bird that he wanted to kill himself at some point. For Nia/Jess/Bird were annoying, I literally used to forward some of their confessionals and scenes.
I think everything about Nia was calculated. Everything from her fights to her tears. She knew what she was doing the whole time. It's like she was winking at the audience the entire season. Don't get me wrong, she probably technically made the season what it was, but I don't find her particularly entertaining or enjoyable. It's hard to enjoy a RW season when it's clear that the house isn't enjoying themselves. I like drama when it happens naturally, but I don't like watching people actually look miserable in the 3 months they're there. And to me, because of Nia half of the cast seemed like they couldn't enjoy their time.
I think most people think Nia was fake because she came with a agenda which she openly admits. I think this season was ruined for me because of Averey and Johhny. Though Nia was wrong in certain situations they definitely instigated a lot and then tried to play victim. I was also annoyed with Bird when her and Averey tried to start unnecessary drama with Jess.

Yes, I agree with everyone that Nia seemed calculated, but honestly that wasn't the main problem for me during Portland. It was Averey and Johnny. They were just awful cast members to watch, and their relationship was soooo boring. I hated them on my TV. Jessica and Bird were annoying sometimes, but I could actually see personal growth and liked watching them. Jordan was a great cast member. And Marlon? Who? What did he do, besides come out as ******** in the first episode and then never mention it again?
I blame the editors when it comes to Marlon. They waited until the season was almost over before they even showed why he was there. The main thing that annoyed me with Johnny was how quick he was ready to fight with the females. With it comes to Averey she acted like a little teenage girl.
Jacinda is pretty fearless too. Anyone ever remember her prank calling guys on RW London saying they gave her a STD?
Yes!! We went over that a million times Desert. You even linked it.

Johnny was a punk *** dude. And no. Marlon was seen several times. Go back and rewatch. You must be thinking of Joi. You must be JOKING.
Entertainment Weekly labeled this season of "The Real World" one of 2013′s worst shows in its year-end issue.
Foolishness as usual. Like did they even watch?
They'll likely say it was Nia going gangsta on her roomies.
:(
I don't think it was that, I actually agree with them about Nia not being real.
She isn't the first or the last so yeah... So I don't see why the **** her name constantly comes up. If she was a Joe, Joi, Erika, Genesis or Andre wouldn't anybody be complaining at least in theory.
I think most people think Nia was fake because she came with a agenda which she openly admits. I think this season was ruined for me because of Averey and Johhny. And I totally agree with you for once. Had Johnny shut up and just went to the bathroom Averey wouldn't have been embarrassed or got her *** whipped.
This! Chris from Chicago was the same way and Simon.
Agreed. Johnny was a punk *** dude. And no. Marlon was seen several times. Go back and rewatch. You must be thinking of Joi. Jordan is annoying. I could not stand his ***. And Jess/Bird/Nia were not annoying. You must be JOKING.
Who is Joi? the wall paper in the house that was painted 3 episodes after? Daisy was more of a cast member than her and hopefully does a challenge first than her. Well, it's my OPINION for me Jordan was likable. While the other 3 Bird/Jess/Nia are not likable and in opinion are still not likable for me going by twitter/instagram. Bird has grown on me.
First of all, I do have to defend Joi. She was edited out very heavily because of her early departure, so they purposefully didn't show us her much at all.
Oh please. I think certain fans are just mad that Marlon's sexuality wasn't formulaic. Chris from Chicago was the same way and Simon.
I'm really not quite sure what you mean.
First of all, I do have to defend Joi. She was edited out very heavily because of her early departure, so they purposefully didn't show us her much at all.
Well, She didn't brought anything to the table story line or entertainment wise if not they would have show it. She was there for 3 weeks the same time as Adam royer and someone that left early on Ex-plosion...In Adam case he was the center of most episodes until he left and by what I heard is going to be the same for ex-plosion. So, I just see that as an excuse. In my opinion Joi is goregeous, but she not great for reality TV even her confessionals were boring.

Although there was that gallery episode where Chris referenced it again but who cared?
How wasn't Jess annoying every episode she was all" pay attention to me bah bah back in middle school bah bah purity ring blah blah Tyler. She thought she was the star of the show. Also I dont see the problem with two people wanting to hang out alone I think Jessica made it into a bigger deal then it was

No. No. No. Jordan was jealous. End of story. And I'll give you the Tyler thing. But the middle school thing was not on her part but Jordan. He was extremely aggravating and arrogant the whole time.
Jordan and Jessica were both EXTREMELY annoying at different parts during Portland, but I think by the end I enjoyed watching them both and I think they both grew and became interesting characters.
Somewhat. I just drew more to Jessica than Jordan. Could. not. stand him. Only redeeming factor was his interest in Sarah and competitive nature.

I honestly don't remember. I don't think those cast members came into their houses with the same agenda Nia had. Just my opinion. The thing about Jessica is that, even if I liked her personality I feel like I would find her annoying because I can't get past her voice. I know it's shallow, but my god is it grating.
I will compared Greg from Hollywood To Nia and he was more real than her in my opinion.
Oh please. People hated on him including here in the fandom, MTV.com and YT because of they had a weird perception that he went into the show thinking he was ****** despite him acting the exact opposite. Will was a punk *** dude for some of the actions and things he said to Greg and then went like a little coward said it was because he was bullied. Like *** does that have to do with telling somebody "that's why your dad died". Same with Ayiiiya. She was the only interesting cast member on her season as well as little ole' Jasmine. I think Ayiiiya was did wrong more than Greg though.

Whether its getting all the girls, guy or leaving their comfort zone or for the "experience".
