Oh man, I've been watching the cast spotting's since the start, so I was super excited about tonight's preview.
Frank.. Well.. I don't think there was more than once or twice when he was on screen and he didn't annoy me.
Nate seems pretty cool, so far I think he's got the best personality/sense of humor out of al the guys (PIDGEON!). Got to appreciate the goofiness! :) BUT. He had a TON of tweets throughout the episode.. I hope he's not going to turn into Adam R where he overdoes it.
Alex is meh. She kind of irks me.. Not really sure why. I understand that she's trying to be gentle on Frank, but I kind of wish she had been more assertive about it.
Ashley seems better "in person" than in her photos. She's not as annoying as I expected, and she actually seems kind of sweet. And I love seeing people from CT! ;)
Priscilla should get some laughs. She's cute, but you can definitely TELL she's the youngest.
Zach is physically attractive, but that's really the only impression he gave off, other than maybe a little uptight.. Hopefully that eases up over time.
Sam should be interesting. I can see how she gets a lot of girls.. I think I would be intrigued, lol. I think the Sam/Priscilla thing is weird, though.
Altogether... I think Nate is my favorite, so far :) We'll see if that changes...
Priscilla- Young, immature,, fresh and reminds me of Svetlana & Cameron During the San Diego & Key West Seasons.
Alexandra: my favorite, she is going to be the mature one.
Frank: Omg remind ofa combination of Ryan, Tyler and jd.
Ashley: cute
Zach: cute and chilled so far.
Sam: she was straight
Nate: he was so annoying lol
It's interesting that the last few seasons have had more male drama than female. It used to seem more female oriented.
I always see it as the guys normally bring the most drama. It's always the ones you don't think as well.
I REALLY dislike the intro. It reminds me of Key West and seems too fake, just like last seasons with the pillow fight and whatnot. I think they should go back to the simple ones like from Philly, the first San Diego, Back to New York, etc..

While I see where you are coming from, it will never happen. The goal is to be progressive with what works (as far as ratings hits) and that is a fact we have to accept as fans of the show, new and old.
If you think this intro was overly slick and hyper edited, just wait for Real World 30.
Nate- Surprisingly, i wasn't annoyed by him. I like him so far.
Priscilla- Like her, seems chill and yes, acts like a typical 19 yr old. lol
Alexandra- Not the hottest (imo) but her personality DEF makes up for it. Smart!
Zach- HOT!!! cool dude, a bit uptight though. I really want to see him on a challenge!
Ashley- Pretty, but i feel like she's going to be boring. no depth.
Frank- DRAMA. reminds me of Adam R. with the drinking & the whole Nany/Alexandra bf situation.
Sam- Breath of fresh air! no drama. cool chick.
As of now, my faves are: Sam, Nate & Priscilla.
I was fine with the first episode. It was narrow in focus, but we still got a good view of the cast as a whole and now we are off to "vinetteland" until an arc forms.
I completely agree. I'm not really getting the great vibe from the overall episode or the cast members, but I guess I'm going to continue to watch. The only person I'm really annoyed by right at the moment is Priscilla. Were most of us like that at 19? Oh dear, I hope not.
I was expecting a DC round 2, but that episode was better than the entire DC and NOLA seasons, in my opinion. Favorite Alexandra, least favorite Zach & Frank.
But most of them remind me of other Real Worlders:
Frank: a combination of Ryan, Jemmye, Adam Royer.
Priscilla: Cameran & Svetlana. I guess since all of them were a little immature because they were 19.
Nate: Andrew (DC) and Knight o_O
Zach: I get a CT vibe from him.
I really liked this first episode. The only disappointment for me was Frank - I was sure that I would like him, turns out not, at least from the impressions of this episode.
Absolutely love Alexandra, Nate and Sam, Zach and Frank annoy me, and the other two girls are kind of "meh" up till now. But I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season.

You're not going by personality are you? lol
You're not going by personality are you? lol
Not really, I am going by looks with Zach & Knight. But when it comes to Frank, I actually think he is a weird combination of those three.
Frank is making me questing whether going on TRW is a good idea. I'd be totally like him if I was on this show (without the campiness) but then again, I'd rather be the person everyone is talking about, than just one of the 6 extras.

There are many ways to get attention without walking around trying to make mountains out of molehills (and some of those ways actually would be positive and good for the reputation of the show IMO).
I like the style of the intro, and I know it's not a big deal but I don't really like how the voices don't match up with the names anymore, it was a simple concept that just kind of worked.
The premiere was so so for me. I didn't hate it but I'm not hooked and really pumped for the next episode either. I was actually surprised at how quickly a lot of the people faded into the background and just let Frank amp up his dramatics and turn it into the Frank show. Can't stand him at all as of now but in past seasons the "villain" has turned out to be one of my favorites so I'm going to wait and see if I end up liking him. Could go either way.
I really like Priscilla's personality. She seems like a genuinely sweet, funny girl. I also liked the blonde girl and the girl with a boyfriend......I haven't read spoilers but I actually think this girl is going to stay true to her boyfriend! Not sure why seeing that is hardly ever the case on The Real World but I have a weird feeling she won't cheat or stray. We shall see.

I think the intros of the show just keep getting better and better, but I do get what you're saying. That makes a lot more sense than having random voices in the background, however, the more "hip" and "cool" they made the intro, the more the viewers would approve. Not too many people are going to be as nitpicky as saying the voices don't match up, especially the majority of teenagers and young adults. They just want the cast to look as hot and as appealing as possible to the audience.
I think Frank is hot. Not as hot as JD, but still cute. The only thing that really bugs me is that he is just proving the stereotype that all gay guys are *****y and overemotional.
Just being honest, but I feel like for the first time in all my years of watching The Real World, this is the first season where I don't feel interested in anyone in the cast. We'll see how that goes as the season progresses, but as of now I am not feeling the group of people they cast for this season :/

I am scared that a lot of people feel the same way as you do.
I'm from the same small town as Ashley. Although she is a few years younger then I am, I've met her many times. She is a really nice girl and even though she is extremely good-looking, she is humble and down to earth. She was a bartender at a local bar and she was always friendly. It's exciting having someone from my small town of Winsted, CT to be quasi-famous.

I've been reading the comments on various sites like mtv.com, and it seems to me that a lot of people find the cast to be very boring :/ IDK if that's a word I would use to describe them, but 'nothing special or interesting' seems about right.

I always thought it was so exciting that Paula Walnuts grew up in the same city in Ct. that I grew up in. I remember on the premiere of RW: Key West, they showed the Meriden sign down in Broad St., and me and my friends were so giddy about it. LOL because seriously, this is the last place you'd think anyone would come from and be quasi-famous :p
Ashley seems cool.
I feel like Sam acts like she has something to prove to the guys. Like she desperately wants to be one of the "bros".
Priscilla's relationship with her mother is cute, but she is an airhead and that's going to annoy me.
I'm not sure what to think of Alexandra. I'm impressed by her accomplishments, but I don't know about her personality yet.
Nate's face still creeps me out. It's going to take me a while to get over it...
Zach is really really hot. I like his personality, but I don't agree with his beliefs. But oh well, what can you do.
And Franck is actually not bad looking when he's not wearing that stupid thing over his head. But the whole overprotective scene between Frank and Alexandra reminded me of how ********* Ryan was overprotective of MacKenzie in NOLA. A bit psycho.
"Are you guys our roommates?"
No, they're just three random twenty-somethings standing in the house you're supposed to live in.
Haha I watched the show while reading you guys' comments and they actually made the show.
I'm just waiting for this season to be over with to have Zach come to the Challenges. The dude looks like he could give CT a beating.
I second that.
I finally got to watch this episode. My Impressions:
Priscilla- She makes me giggle. She seems so innocent. And I think it's interesting that she and her mom have a close relationship.
Ashley- Seems really nice. Glad to see that she isn't going to fall under the ditzy blonde stereotype.
Alex-Also really nice. I'm getting the impression from her that she will honestly stay faithful to her boyfriend. I hope so. I hate storylines where they cheat on their significant others back home.
Sam- ONE of the boys. I love sam. I can tell she will be in your face this entire season.
Frank- Finally a real ******** boy. I never felt they really had a guy on here who was truely ********. He seems fun, but maybe alittle too emotional.
Nate- He is ok. Nothing about him really entertains me so far.
Zach- Hot but he is your usual small minded small town native. It's 2011, in my opinion, there are no excuses to not be exposed or be aware of different kinds of people.
I like the cast all around. I honestly think this cast will perform well on challenges. All of them, except priscilla, have competed in sports and come off very athletic. I think priscilla will be the only one we won't ever see on a challenge. I think Sam and Frank will be challenge *****s.
