Did it ever past the 2mil mark? I know it's been pretty steady in the (18-49) area though. At least the last time i checked it was at 1.0 for several episodes.
The first episode premiered with a little over 2 million, but then 2 episodes later, it was down to like 1,400,000.
Ratings are getting pathetic. They need to just do what they did for Inferno 3 and so a couple of weeks of back-to-back-episodes to just put this season out of its misery already. Re-runs of Teen mom would probably outdo this crap

Of course Teen Mom 2 (as ridiculous as the spin-off is) will do good. We can thank Janelle and the girl with the twins for that. :p
REAL WORLD XXVI MTV 10:00 PM 1129 (000s) 0.6 (18-49 Rating) This is getting outta hand.
I really expected ratings to be flat or even up a few ten of thousands this week. With only 129,000 viewers to drop before the show goes under 1 Mil, MTV's advertisers must be seriously taking note and wanting money back. We've fallen a long way from expectations, when MTV put out this statement in week 1:
New York, NY (September 29, 2011) - The season premiere of “The Real World: San Diego” was the best debut in five seasons and the #1 original cable series of the night. Averaging a 2.1 rating among P12-34, “The Real World: San Diego” bested the season premiere of “The Real World: Las Vegas” by +17%. “The Real World: San Diego” ranked #1 in the 10 o’clock hour across all of cable among P12-34 and #1 across all of television among F12-34. Nearly 2 million viewers tuned in to the newest installment of MTV’s groundbreaking reality series.
They question why you still have a job if you can't do better than 1.1M for RW. Next!!!! I am a Viacom stockholder, and the above position is exactly my point of view.
Lol yeah, I totally see your point of view. The problem is it's hit or miss and this season was definitely a miss... another Las Vegas season could easily get the ratings back to 2 million but I guess that's redundant because that's not going to help put money in thier pockets this quater.

Perhaps you do recall because this is when there were half-hour episodes.

I don't see why they haven't done a Real World All Stars yet with 7 people from different seasons. That would be a lot better than this.
They just need to fire the story editors in my opnion. that's what's killing the show, the stories they choose to show and how they're depicted. Instead of shoving nate's charity in our face how about you give us a bit on his background and the suicides and what each one/person meant to him, talk about alex's life in zimbabwe and the racism she had to deal with, or sam's struggles with being gay in a rural town. They need to focus on the lives and stories of these kids and not the b.s. romance and drama which gets old really fast.

The editors can only work with what they're given. Maybe Alex, Sam, and Nate didn't give them anything to showcase. Frank was going crazy, those suicide guys were all over Nate, the ginger came over, etc.. That's all they had lol. I feel sorry for the people who had to go through all of that footage to come up with an entire season lol

I really wonder what the casting directors were going for..I can't tell if this is a serious or party season..

I really wonder what the casting directors were going for..I can't tell if this is a serious or party season..
As I have posted before, and apologize for beating the tired old drum, I think they cast this season solely with the expectation that they could get some good anti-gay v. gay conflict to set up a BMP movie coming out about a gay kid killed. They did the same thing with Brooklyn--which would have been another pretty lame season except for Ryan Conklin getting recalled to Iraq.
I think what it comes down to is 1m+ people who watched vegas dont want to watch guys kiss. I guess BMP should just stick to casting 6 straight people and a lipstick lesbian.
It's gonna go down to a million before the seasons over.
Bunim and Murray better go all out next season with the cast.
Bunim can't really do anything about it...
I don't know if anyone's noticed yet but according to my guide, next week MTV is showing two new back-to-back episodes of RW. Lol, guess they want this season to be over as quickly as we do. Hopefully that'll help the ratings.
Bunim can't really do anything about it...
I meant the casting directors from Bunim & Murray productions. but anyways, I agree with the person who suggested an All Star cast.

Fortunately first-run ratings are not the sole determination of whether a show lives or dies. I am hoping that the affiliate advertising, and foreign ratings help sustain the franchise (and that next season is one whale of a good season). Real World: San Diego II is, nonetheless, ready for a fork to be stuck in it.
I don't think they should do a Real World All stars, because then, that takes away from the challenges. The challenges are supposed to put multiple, different personalities from different seasons and see how they interact with eachother. Real World All Stars would just be the same thing, but with no competitions.
I don't want an all stars. I want another Reunited; Denver, Austin, Paris or Key West would be best realistic choices.
I don't want an all stars, I was another Reunited, Denver, Austin, Paris or Key West would be best realistic choices.
But you would not get the full cast for any of those seasons, so I don't understand how it is realistic.
I'd like to point out that next week there appears to be two episodes and according to tvguide.com, the last episode will air on December 14th. This means that there are 12 episodes this season, not counting the reunion. So if the schedule is correct, the regular episodes will be over in a week and a half. Just based on episode descriptions, nothing happens. At all.
But you would not get the full cast for any of those seasons, so I don't understand how it is realistic.
I think all of them would jump back for another 15 minutes of fame given the chance, even Svetlana as much as she says she wouldn't.
I think all of them would jump back for another 15 minutes of fame given the chance, even Svetlana as much as she says she wouldn't.
Herein lies the difference between our positions: You state that you "think..." while I wrote "you would not..." I believe you are stating an opinion while I'm offering an observations based upon what I know to the the situation. Several people have real jobs/careers they've said they will not leave. (But this discussion has nothing to do with ratings, so mods, do your thing...)
If they were going to a reunited season, it'd have to be with a fairly recent season. I'm sure most people from a season 5 years ago (RW: Key West) and people from a season 8 years ago (Paris) have more important things going for them in life. In my opinion, the most realistic Reunited seasons are Cancun, if they can sway Emilee, or Back to Las Vegas.
