Oh well was he really the worst tonight?? (I'm still gonna watch it when it comes on here :p )

They said he was a hip-hop dancer, but his solo was more of a contemporary thing to me. I mean, what hip-hopper does a solo to "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room"?
First up: Channing (contemporary) and Phillip (tap): Jason Gilkison choreographed jive. I liked it.
I liked this too. I think Phillip did exceptionally well.
Brandon Dumlao may be a hip hop dancer, however he has done tons of contemporary. He has tried out the last two years and alot of people were ****** that he did not make it this year. It is nice they are potentially letting him come back next year.
Top 18 pairings and dances:
Ryan & Ellenore – Argentine Tango – Miriam Larici & Leonardo Barrionuevo Phillip & Channing – Samba – Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin Victor & Bianca – Broadway – Tyce Diorio Peter & Pauline – Jazz – Wade Robson Legacy & Kathryn – Contemporary – Stacey Tookey Nathan & Mollee – Bollywood – Nakul Dev Mahajan Russell & Noelle – Hip Hop – NappyTabs or Jamal Sims Kevin & Karen – Hip Hop – NappyTabs or Jamal Sims Jakob & Ashleigh – Viennese Waltz – Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin
Also, the judges are cutting another pair tonight. They must really be trying to weed out the Evan's...
Elimination spoilers:
Bottom four: Noelle, Bianca, Phillip, Victor Eliminated: Bianca and Phillip
Ah!! I KNEW there was something I was supposed to watch on Tuesday! :p
OK I didn't see the whole thing, but I really liked Ellenore and Ryan's tango, Legacy and Kathryn's contemporary, Kevin and Karen's hip-hop, and Mollee and Nathan's Bollywood routine. From the 5 second recap, Phillip looked awful, uncomfortable, and off count. Bianca and Victor's routine didn't look good either.
Wow...Phillip's dad died about a week and a half ago. They seem very upset about Phillip and Bianca going home. Even Cat was hurrying through the last part and looked like she was tearing up.
Wow...Phillip's dad died about a week and a half ago. They seem very upset about Phillip and Bianca going home. Even Cat was hurrying through the last part and looked like she was tearing up.
Yeah that was really sad. I first thought it was odd that Nigel didn't give any explanation why Phillip was leaving but then when Phillip dropped the bomb and we saw Nigel welling up it made sense that he probably just couldn't make it through critiquing him knowing how hard it probably was and probably not feeling it was his place to mention it at all. I really liked Phillip too so I am sad to see him go :( I'll have to tell my friend Sarah to send my best wishes to him. I was sad about Bianca too since I think she had a lot of potential. I think they expected her to do much better in this weeks routine than she did, which probably hurt her in the judges eyes. On a happier note, Legacy was a fav of mine going in and I am so pumped to see him adapting so well and growing as fast as he is! :D Also how cute is Ellenore? And how amazing is she, and Ryan too, that they didn't even flinch when her skirt got caught and carried it off so well that I actually thought the outfit was supposed to be like that for a minute? She is pulling away with Karen as my favorite female dancers!
Mollee and Nathan's Bollywood routine was amazing, they did so well together. Nathan is such a superb dancer!
Agree, agree, agree! They did great on that performance. Also sad to see Phillip go. He was good, just so sorry to hear about his father. Sending him happy thoughts and prayers... Oh, and Wade Robsen's concept for his dance was WEIRD. And I wasn't too crazy about it.
Spoilers for tonight, including judges remarks:
Nathan & Mollee - Salsa - Gustavo Vargas? Ryan & Ellenore - Krump - Lil' C Victor & Channing - Contemporary - Stacey Tookey Peter & Pauline - Quickstep - ? Russell & Noelle - Afro Jazz - Sean Cheesman Kevin & Karen - Hustle - Maria Torres Jakob & Ashleigh - Jazz - Mandy Moore Legacy & Kathryn - Broadway - Not Tyce Diorio Thanks Holly for the spoilers!
The GREAT routines (favorable marks by judges): Russell & Noelle - Afro Jazz (Frog & Princess, sick!) Jakob & Ashleigh - Jazz (Creative use of a cane prop, reminiscent of the mandy moore table routine) The PRETTY GOOD routines: Peter & Pauline - Quickstep (WWII soldier mesmorized by hula girl) The OK routines: Legacy & Kathryn - Broadway (they loved Legacy) Victor & Channing - Contemporary (good technically, no chemistry) Kevin & Karen - Hustle (he almost drops her at the end, haha) The BAD routines (judges didn't like): Nathan & Mollee - Salsa (they started off out of sync and it only got worse) Ryan & Ellenore - Krump (neither could really let it all go & get dirty - I personally thought the routine was slow and boring as well)

Bottom 3 guys and girls:
Bottom 3 guys: Ryan, Peter, Kevin Bottom 3 girls: Ellenore, Pauline, Karen
Going home:
Pauline and Peter
Man I really liked everyone in the bottom 3 so it's sad to see any of them go. Did you already see the solos molds? If so, do you think they sent the right people home? I wonder which pair Nigel thought was the big surprise?

I think if you considered the solos plus the actual dance, Peter and Pauline were the weakest. Kevin and Karen were the big surprise, they were against Mollee and Nathan as the last 2 pairs to go. Mollee looked shocked that they weren't in the bottom.

I personally like them better than Mollee and Nathan but I think I am in the minority since they are obviously fan favs. I'm sad that all the tappers are gone already!
This is episode was so annoying. Can Nigel please stop bringing up season 5. Maybe I am wrong but I do not remember them ever comparing what one dancer did to a dancer from another season. I was so confused by the Ade, Ryan comparison. Why would what Ryan does as a flip (sorry do not know what to call it) be compared to Ade. Uhh, idk this episode was just so annoying. Furthermore, I felt last night was one of the worst dancing episodes in the series. When Nathan said he was hot; I took it more as a joke. Furthermore, the judges created the big support for Nathan and Mollee, their disco sucked; if the judges didn't push it so hard, maybe they would not be getting votes now. They also got them votes last night by saying they thought they would be in trouble.
I'm sad that all the tappers are gone already!
Yeah really. You'd think with all the to do they made about there being 3 of them, the judges would have kept at least one around for awhile. :P

Not necessarily gone home, but definitely in the bottom 3. There are times when I think the judges give people votes by what they say, but this time, it was pretty obvious that they were the worst of the night and their fans were going to vote to save them whether or not the judges called them out as "in trouble". I do remember judges referencing dancers from before when people do a solo or in their partner dance. On Tuesday, Nigel said the contemp routine with the cane reminded him of another Mandy Moore dance, the bench one. I don't think it's bad to compare one dancer to another, I do when I watch the dance. When a couple does a Bollywood routine I am always going to compare it to Josh and Katee doing it the first time, like Mary pointed out this season, until a better one comes along. It's a way to set a standard for the show. For the dancers to live up to a certain reputation and performance level. It's basically what they are doing when they have the solo. Who did their solo the best. You win this competion based on how much better you are compared to the other dancers. How much personality you have, how much talent. Last night really was all around not so hot. I was really only enthused by the last Afro-Jazz routine the contemp romance struggle and the cane. Though i didn't really jump out of my seat for any of them. Everything else was just too flat or not good.
Oh yeah sorry about that I was referring to the disco from the first week. I knew there was no way they would go home even if they were in the bottom. I do not even think they would go home if they were in the bottom every week until top 10. Nigel with his blonde fetish will definitely keep Mollee around. I definitely get the comparisons in that regard. Comparing bollywood from this season to bollywood from another season, or even saying how a dance is similar. I would even understand comparing Nathan, to Jacob or Victor because they are dancers with similar styles (even though Nathan is originally a hip hop dancer.) I just would never compare Ade to Ryan, when I see Ryan, I think Artem, Dimitri, etc.. Not Ade. That just for some reason got me upset, I would never expect Ryan to be able to do it how Ade does it. Anyway, sadly this season is looking like the worst season yet, with very few memorable dances. I find out funny the judges actually called out Nathan and Mollee, they had to be really bad for the judges to do that, since Nigel really wants them to be "the power couple".

I've been watching very passively if at all. Maybe I can only get excited for it in the summertime.
Yeah I haven't been PUMPED yet. There has been a lot of good but not great. I am still waiting for that moment when it's like BAM! That was awesome and now I am really invested in these guys. I think the talent and personality is there but I don't think there has been a magical pairing between the right dancers, choreographers and routine yet. It's still early though right?
