radically different show? nice! its needed. that season 3 finale was more like a series finale, plus i was getting bored lol
They needed to do something and I am glad that they did. Even though many people like the show in its current state, I had given up. At least now there is hope as the actors are awesome and it still could have a few good years if they hit the ground running and get back to being original (which made them great.)

Totally. Agreed 100%. I'm still in it...but if its not better upon its return, I'll abandon ship.
from TVGuide.com's Michael Aussiello:
Albert Brooks will be joining the cast of Weeds in Season 4, says TV Guide's Michael Ausiello. The comedic writer/actor/director -- and memorable Simpsons guest star and movie villian -- will be playing the father-in-law of Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker).Ausiello says Brooks will show up early in Season 4, and appear in at least four episodes.
Showtime has also revealed new information about Season 4, which follows on the heels of the very notable (and fiery) Season 3 finale, which set up some big changes for the show. Below is Showtime's description of Season 4's plotline:
"What's cable's No. 1 pot dealer to do when her cozy suburban enclave burns to the ground, taking her clients and stash along with it? What else? Pack up and move on. With the embers of Agrestic smoldering in her rearview mirror, Nancy & Co. relocate to the fictional beach town of Ren Mar on the San Diego/Mexico border to set up shop with a new front biz that's… pregnant with possibilities. With the help of her old friends and new partner Guillermo, Nancy will get even deeper in the shadier side of dealing — on both sides of the border. She's savvy and has earned her stripes in the business, but the new, un-chartered terrain ramps up the risk with every transaction. While there's a whole new look, new locale, new friends and even a new love interest, the patented Weeds dark humor that the country and critics have grown to love over the past three seasons stays true to form."
So....new season starts tonight! Will you guys still be watching?? I unfortunately don't have Showtime in my package this year so will have to catch it online or OnDemand or get the scoop from you all!! :)

I canceled Showtime when the season ended last year (actually when Dexter ended a few weeks later.) I think I'll just wait for it to pop up online. As I have stated previously, I have no anticipation at all for Weeds this year. Last year I forced myself to watch just because I was already invested - but now I might just be ready to make a clean break.

Yeah, will definately be a passive viewer this year....who knows, we may be surprised! :)
Dang it, neither of you have showtime?? I just watched a rather entertaining new show, it's called Diary of a London Callgirl.... or something close to that. It's only one episode in I believe, but it looks like it's gonna be good!
So I finished the first episode and, er.....um. Anyone see beyond ep1? Anyone like it? It is not often I quit a series after watching for 3 years. I am trying to find a reason to continue!
Season 3 was definately weak. Season 4 is slightly better but not as good as the first 2 seasons. It's still a pretty solid show and better than most scripted television so I keep watching. The family dynamic of the Botwins is what makes this show so great. The episode that was on last night, 4th episode of this season, was especially funny.

The defacto end of the series was season 3. That should have been the series finale. Everything post Majestic, was a totally different - really bad television show.

I agree. I never watched much past season 3. Maybe just the first couple eps of season 4 and then lost interest for good. I tried catching later episodes here and there, but by then the magic was gone.
Seasons 1-3 were really great t.v though. They should have went out on a high note.
I force myself to watch this show because I've made it this far and i feel invested in it, but it is just not good. I was hoping that since this is the last season they would bring some of the spark back to it but it is long gone. On a positive note, it helps me fall asleep. I can't go to bed after watching true blood because i'm a wuss and will have bad dreams (it's true, and i'm 29) but this show is so boring it brings me to sleepy-land every time.
