Wait has the vmas always aired on these channels too?!?
"The show is set to air live at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Wednesday, Sept. 11 on MTV. Sister brands like Nickelodeon, BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land and VH1 will also air the show. MTV has teamed up with TelevisaUnivision for the second year in a row to host a simultaneous broadcast on Univision. An “encore presentation” of the awards show will air on UNIMÁS at 11:30PM ET/PT."
and re 9/11; "MTV plans to donate profits to 9/11 Day and Tuesday’s Children in observance of the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001."
literally why do they try to compete with survivor. and i don't want a 'they have no strategy they're dumb' respone. i would genuinely like to know what is the strategy or mindset behind this
My coworker of the same age who watches the show told me that she hasn't been watching the season because MTV got rid of the live stream on their website. She's not willing to pay for a live stream app like I am. They did it to themselves. I don't know who alienates their own fan base more MTV or Beyoncé
Ummmm. Why do so many people even watch survivor. To watch people bathe in their own dirt and eat grass? It looks boring af
Survivor and The Challenge are two of the most similar shows in Reality TV. There's a ton of social politics and strategic gameplay. Which makes it even more idiotic to air the show at the exact same time.

hmm maybe i'll give it a try. i remember many years ago i watched a compilation of this one survivor girl named Sugar and I was like omg this diva... it had me interested in the show so I watched the first 2 episodes of Millenials vs Gen X and then stopped because the cool looking gamer girl with the dyed hair got voted out by that Figgy girl
then years later that Figgy girl appeared on that Squid Games show and got eliminated in that battleship game. karma
they should do a Gen Z vs Millenials vs Gen X season
OMG...maybe that will be the season 50 theme. Survivor: Generations at War. Give me the age ranges for those 3 and I'll make an iconic fantasy cast for 50.

And it will drop because of a two week gap for the VMAs... hopefully big brother beats it in the ratings

Good to see the show thriving
They're gonna get annihilated by Survivor next week lol. I'm predicting 320k.
Survivor, Big Brother, and The Challenge is too much in one night.
Not airing an episode this week hurts too---bad combination
Episode 5 - 406,000 viewers with a 0.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
15% decline in viewership putting it on the same time as Survivor, I don't understand the logic...
It'll never make sense, especially when there is no other way to watch it.

where is westracked so he can mansplain ratings to us
I was about to ask the same thing lol.
I miss him.

yikes i even think season 39 got higher ratings than that... all those damn vets and the show is getting the same ratings as last season lmao
The precipitious decline begins...
It goes against Survivor and there is no other way to watch so people have moved on. It has no shot.

They alienate us by this dumb boring alliance ppl it's gonna dominate week after week now this all went downhill when Amanda left
Ppl heard it was a Josh, Johnny, Devun episode and said "no, thanks". I win.
Ummmm. Why do so many people even watch survivor. To watch people bathe in their own dirt and eat grass? It looks boring af
I was 10x more entertained by Survivor last night than The Challenge.
The challenge is basically the same annoying alliance running things for 5 years now.... at least with survivor its new people every season
^^^^^it's fresh and fun, not as predictable. Better editing and storytelling.
