It's because it was so abrupt. Not someone hustling to a finish line out if breath and crying. It was just unlock the box and oh it's over. Then sit on a jet and stare at TJ.
This, exactly why the phases should have been swapped. Melinda finishing was a moment but then Jonna winning was so anti-climatic. I really hated this final.
Like the winner was threatening to quit while Melinda had a whole injury and finished first with no complaints damnnnn. I like jonna but Melinda was robbed
I don't know what it is about All Stars finals but they are just not boring and actually interesting to watch. The main shows finals have been shit since the beginning. I about died when my dream was lived out on this episode when Andrea True Connections "More More More" went into Len's "Steal My Sunshine" (although that More More More live version sucked) but still this is something that I've played out in my head every single time I hear both songs as I love those songs. Bravo to whoever in production put that together. They deserve a raise. Ayanna quitting and costing Teck money sucked. But I love All Stars for giving me the Ayanna/Teck crossover I never knew I needed in my life. These two together are gold and reminds me of the good old days of the challenge when random true OG legends would meet and really provide fireworks. Nowadays we get pairings like Jeremiah & Amber meeting (yawn). I am happy for Jonna. When I read the spoiler that her and MJ won I was like whatever but actually watching it and accompanied by all of the old clips of her on the show it made me happy for her. She finally put together a win after all of her failed attempts. Good for her. Out of the last 3 teams left they were actually the ones I wanted to win the most. But at the beginning of the final I was team Ayanna and Teck. I kind of hated the team twist because it screwed Teck over. I wish it had went to individual on phase 2 but still with one male one female winner.
I think I've noticed editing wise we don't get a million confessionals during the final explaining to us what we just saw. That makes it a lot more enjoyable to watch.
I liked last season's final better but honestly this wasn't horrible. I do wish that they started eating in the order they finished the prior phases and their times mattered but...
Phase 1: felt bad for teck but LOL at y'all's fave quitting. proud of melinda for fighting through the ankle injury and getting first.
Phase 2: glad to see a not too terrible eating challenge followed by a puzzle (despite it being one that i remember seeing on facebook all the time), and would rather eat something that looks decent than ox balls and intestines etc.. also love how close the finale was!

Phase 1: Melinda was a beast for managing to finish first with a messed up ankle. Lol at Darrell and Janelle taking the wrong route. And I was surprised that it was Ayanna who quit because I immediately thought it was Teck when it was revealed they DQed for quitting.
Phase 2: I'm glad the food wasn't too nasty. And I'm so happy for Jonna! Her and MJ's chemistry this whole season was amazing.
What they could have done if they wanted to give the advantage according to phase 1 placements is just give Darrell/Janelle some extra food to eat and MJ/Jonna even more.
