Once again.. You're another person that acts like he looked at the the drink at said "**** it I quit" He tried and that's it. It's not about mentality at all. That doesn't mean anything when your body just cannot go on. Some battles can't be won.
And while yes they had a path they still could've fell off. There were angles that looked dangerous as hell and one misstep can spell your doom.
And once again..blame the people that kept them there. A less competitive finale is the price to pay as a viewer for good gameplay.
Yes. Jay mentally quit. However, when you are partnered with someone like Jenna who would rather walk and "play a scratch off", it kind of leads to a defeatest attitude. If she had been gung ho and pushing him all the way there, I think he would not have given up as easily. I just think he felt like, "Why do this? Jenna will just quit on me later anyway." Jenna is as much at fault for them quitting as Jay was.
[/quote]
That is a good point. Jenna wasn't much support at all and honestly if she was *****ing about the jogging they had to do no way those 2 were going up that moutain. So he may have just said "why bother" and quit.
But Regardless Tj *****ing at them was unessesary which was my original point. Be a damn host and shut up.
TJs reputation is he dogs quitters, he always has, its part of his job to provide commentary.... it would be horrible if he just let Jay get away with that.
It is true that Jennas attitude sucked... BUT she was game to take it at their own pace and get the third place cheque
Am I the only one who didn't find the final challenge itself all that bad? Aside from the moutain climb and eating portions I thought it was cool.
I'm confused as to what the idea of eating fish eggs and throwing rocks part was. I probably wasn't paying enough attention but what were the rules for that?

it was good final, reall good test imo. the mountain climb i liked as well. i think people have more of a issue with the competition then the final/checkpoints themselves.... had any of the other good teams (Bannanas, wes or zach) been there instead of the rookies it would of been a intense 3 way race!
It was impressive that theresa and leeroy made it soooooo close imo...they started so far behind!

She's saying now that she would have been able to drink it, but I doubt it. She got lucky that Jay said the words, so she can act like she'd have gone on. The way she kept asking "Are we quitting?" "Are we drinking it?" - She wanted him to say they were quitting.

Not really. She said before they even got to the checkpoint that that she was over it. She even said she wanted to quit. Jay just brushed it off at that point but technically, she quit first.
I don't like that Jenna isn't getting as much heat as Jay. She wanted to quit twice before that checkpoint...like. And eventually i'm sure she would have if they did make it past that check point. Theresa and Wes were passing them and she was like "whatever i'm going to keep walking." She sucked, her attitude sucked. Don't get me wrong, Jay should have drinked it, but my point is at least he was trying before.

except she didnt actualy quit, e.g she kept moving on
zach also said "i want to quit in fa", it was more of a frusteration thing, she was actually participating in the cup thing......
Im not saying jenna was going to beast the final, or even go at a respectable pace, but she showed a willingness to continue. All we really can go off of since noone is a mind reader
If you can't drink something for 15 grand then you clearly don't deserve to be on the show. Jay sucks and he deserved to be called out for quitting. I don't want to hear any of this " his body couldn't take it " crap, if he knew had a weak stomach than don't go on the show. Jay isn't someone like Nia who never seen the show before, he should have known what a final entailed.
In my opinion, Jay and Jenna were both horrible. LIke Nia said at the reunion, some people aren't cut out for this and Jay is definitely one of those people NOT cut out for this. Also Jenna because she didn't try that hard. She just didn't care and with that attitude, why be on the show when there are people who want it badly and will do whatever they have to do and push themselves to get through it? I was disappointed with the finale.
One more note -- Johnny saying Jenna was MVP was just ridiculous. I get he's pissed at Sara but c'mon, that's a stretch saying that.

I actually agree. I might have been one of the individuals on here that went after Jay, but Jenna had a big part in it too. Jenna's equally pathetic IMO, and I don't get why she chose to even do a Challenge if that was how she was going to be. Honestly, I hope I never have to see Jay/Jenna again, because other people from their season deserved to be cast over these two, and it was unfortunate we got stuck with those two in the first place.

Im assuming she did it because of fun? or exposure maybe... but if they come back please be the big easy role, come back party have some fun but get knocked out before half... luckily for us they were EXPOSED hard so noone on a team with them will want to keep them around (if they have a choice)

Tj's job is to host. Not give commentary and give his opinions on anything regarding the game. He should be there to explain the rules of the game and Challenges, let the cast know when something unexpected happens and be at the end of the final challenge to say "congratulations! you win!" He is not jeff probst.

You don't know what his employment contract entails, so relax.
And might I add, there just might be a reason Jeff Probst is an award-winning host, lol. Maybe commentary enhances the quality of performance by the host?

TJ's job is whatever BMP wants him to do. If BMP wanted him to cool it with the commentary they'd tell him. Just like I assume they told him to let Nany and Nia fight and not get involved like he has in the past. He answers to them, and if they're happy what he's doing then he should keep doing it, in fact he's said in interviews that they've told him to inject his opinion more often. Mute your TV if you don't like it.

How the hell was he supposed to know that final would have a drinking portion? Not all final challenges are the same.
It's rediculous people are acting like it's some horrible sin that he quit. Is it really that big of a deal?
So you want a dull host that simply just explains the rules?????????? part of tjs charm and why they bring him back is personality, and part of that is his commentary in particular towards quitters

Not every season of Survivor has an eating challenge, yet you shouldn't be shocked when one pops up.
Same thing applies to The Challenge. It's not a horrible sin, there's just objective criteria as to why he sucks as a competitor. It's much less subjective than arguing over who is the best.
So you want a dull host that simply just explains the rules?????????? part of tjs charm and why they bring him back is personality, and part of that is his commentary in particular towards quitters
Tj has no personality and is a dull host. Sometimes I think he's a walking dead man until trivia/spelling challenges come around. He can't even diliver rules without ******* up.
But with all that being said, i'm used to T.j. and actually like him.

Yeah they also tell him who to ask to talk for the deliberation. Production told him to ask Jonna and put her on the spot. Bananas even said that they told him to ask Sarah for the Banany vote and not Jordan.

FINALLY. Someone that thinks that TJ is Dull as hell. He's always been so lifeless and has not type of presences or charm. Even in trivia questions he's dull. He blows as a host and it's way overdue for a new one(pipe dream I know).

Him getting the rules wrong is because of his injury. It's a lot harder to remember things after you get a serous head injury

I'm 100 % sure that we will see Jay on this next challenge, MTV loves to cast these "weak" people (Jay/Jenna or Devyn/Big Easy/Emilee/Jasmine). Plus if you have watched the show, Jay isn't afraid to play the game and make moves against the big ones (or standing up for himself) and that is a good thing in order to stop casting Bananas/Wes/CT ...
Plus, besides the drinking challenge (which is far worse than eating discuting stuff imo), he didn't really do that bad throughout the season.
