Preston fills the gay demographic I figured that was the main reason he was cast.
They dropped Tyler over him for both Rivals 2/Free agents...Technically on Rivals 2 was for TY.
I don't think they cast him to fill the gay guy demographic. JD, Derek, Frank, and Marlon are all either gay or bi, and at least one of them has been on each of Preston's challenges.
For better or for worse, BMP casts characters just as often as they cast competitors, and Preston was one of the biggest characters on NOLA
Preston to me is comic relief on the challenges because everyone finds him to be such dead weight but love him. I like him, he entertains me more than Chet, JD, Marlon, Jordan ect

Then all of them were contacted for seasons 2, the only girl was down to do it at that time was Emily S.
For explosion they try with Jenny, but she declined since they wanted her with Cory. Now she is in school , so the only way we would see her if its film on the summer.

Word. Several characters that could've brought something to the show BMP/MTV passed up over the years. Damn shame too. Probably could've done more for this show than someone like Brandon ever could.

They never tried with a Ashley/Erika pair for Rivals or Rivals 2 which was a big mistake. Both would've added something to the show besides hook ups.
