Ehren Kruger did. Looks like we're also getting Joy Ride 2 and Jeepers Creepers 3. Maybe we should change the title of the thread since I'm now designating this the official horror movie thread. Bacchus, work your magic.
Jeepers Creepers 1 was FANTASTIC......2 was a ***king nightmare. so bad As for Joy Ride....the first was awesome cuz it was so original. a sequel would blow

they have a new voice for Rusty Nails so you know its gonna suck. Im only going to watch it because Nicki Aycox from JC 2 is in it. And what do you mean JC 2 was a nightmare? That movie was good but not exactly one to be rewatched numerous times.
i HATED jc2. it was so bad! 1 was the perfect blend of terror and camp, but 2 was just a cash copout what made JC so good to start with was the dynamic relationship between the brother and sister....THATS what made it scary....because you were pulled into their story
I was just having the same discussion in regards to JC1 vs JC 2 at another forum the other day. But you pretty much summed it up RockSteady. RE: Scream 3 not being written by Wiliiamson - not sure who or what that reflects poorly on more him or the ******** that was part 3. But the point remains the same - Williamson/Craven must atone for the sin which was Cursed. Its not in that "so bad its good" category - its just bad. Same thing with suckbag Tara Reid - who should have no part in any re-make of Nightmare. Which reminds me - there should not even be a remake of nightmare. RE: The Ruins - how you fare at the box office does not translate to a movie's quality or lack thereof. [REC] - I could only find on torrents, didn't see any US dvd release but I am betting it will probably come out around the time Quarantine is released in theaters. One to avoid - Diary of the Dead. Terrible, terrible film. It pains me to say that about the man that brought us Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead. Like I said earlier in the thread, of recent horror films, I recommend - Inside, The Strangers, The Ruins, [REC], The Signal, The Orphanage. From the last couple of years I recommend - The Descent, High Tension, Hills Have Eyes (remake, part 1)
JC2 was such ****. I didn't like the strangers either. Too much build up and suspense for nothing.

KW did kinda outline Scream 3 so it is his fault to an extent. Also, I can't believe you don't like JC 2

Well, supposedly the hold up on this movie is Neve Campbell. She doesn't feel they should do one, but the Weinsteins are going to wait for her to come around because they feel there would be no franchise without Sydney. But Kevin Williamson will come back. Also another piece of spoilerish info: Jamie Kennedy was interviewed and it turns out that even though he was killed there is still going to be a way for him to be in this movie as well. "I actually had a conversation with somebody very big in the organization, and there’s a way," he tells iF. "I don’t know what’s going to happen, but they have plans for a lot of things. You can see new faces that you wouldn’t expect and you can see old faces that you wouldn’t believe. There’s a way to bring a lot of things around." When asked if director Wes Craven would be involved, Kennedy confirmed that it's "the only way they're going to do it."-Jamie Kennedy. well it IS possible. Keep in mind that Barry and Helen returned in ISKWYDLS the sequel to IKWYDLS
well it IS possible. Keep in mind that Barry and Helen returned in ISKWYDLS the sequel to IKWYDLS
uhhhhh....no they didn't. Helen was just shown in a picture that J. Love's character had. No? I'm glad they are at least holding out for Craven and Campbell. But I hope Campbell remains strong. There is NO NEED for another Scream. At. ALL.
Jeepers Creepers 2 was a shit fest, lol. The first was really good, but I hated the second one. The Descent was SO SO SO much better than Jeepers Creepers 2. And I heard they are making a sequel to The Descent as well, so I'm looking forward to that! I didn't really like the Strangers too much either, I agree that there was such a huge build up only to lead to a disappointing ending.
The Descent was probably one of the best horror movies of the past decade. Seriously terrifying. I think Horror gets a lot of flack for its bad sequels. it needs to start taking itself seriously before everyone can take it seriously. Descent 2 would be terrible and over produced

Descent 2 would be terrible and over produced
The Descent is without a doubt, the best horror movie of the past decade. It focused on real fears and true scares instead of using every cliche it could. If directors would realize what they are getting themselves into with sequels, than they wouldn't get as much bad rep for it. The Descent 2 I am going to see. Regardless, of how much they should leave it alone I will see it. Sequels don't have to be bad. Halloween 2 was an amazing movie following up to the greatest horror movie ever made. They just need to realize what they have to do in order to keep the franchise fresh. Scream 4 needs to be taken seriously. The first movie worked so well because it took all the cliches of horror movies and turned it into one big montage, but still made it scary, believeable, and funny. That is why it is one of the best horror movies ever. Scream 2 and 3 failed so horribly in my eyes because they were riding off the success of the first two, not recreating the story in other ways. Sidney, Dewey, and Gail were what kept the franchise going. Along with Craven's brilliance. Without them in the fourth, it will not get any better.
Sidney, Dewey, and Gail were what kept the franchise going. Along with Craven's brilliance. Without them in the fourth, it will not get any better.
Yeah true that! Without them casting in it, most likely won't be as good but you never know. Sort of like the first Final Destination was awesome but the ones after that weren't as good. Not to mention, they were more predictable because you knew what it was all about.

So if u go to upcominghorrormovies.com u can find more about Scream 4, Wes Craven is really interesting in doing part 4 and have Neve campbell on it. He is just waiting for the right script! Lets all hope that if they make Scream 4 IT will be awesome !!!
Yes I hope so too because I love Neve Campbell (or maybe it is her sexy indescribable eyes!..lol) It just wont be right without her. And I just found out SAW V is coming out! I can't wait!
ughhhhhh the Saw movies. Dont even get me started on how much they've RUINED one of the best horror series of our time. Beyond #2, they're atrocious.

I agree with RockSteady, but with Hotboih as wel. The first movie was amazing. it was a somewhat different concept and the twists added in the movie were amazing. The second one is the worst out of all of them I think. It had a great potential to be good(instead of tieing people up and forcing them to work together, they are now able to fight, but still need each other, was a great storyline.) The 3rd one is trying too hard to intertwine every single character with each other and it got a bit annoying, but it was a solid movie. The fourth one didn't seem like a typical Saw movie. It wasn't sowing most of the people suffering. I think the movies are good, but they should just reboot each entry. Give it a new idea and stop linking each movie. Scream did the same thing. I am looking forward to Scream 4 because I want a finite film to this series. They need to end it. Kill Sydney, Gale, and Dewey. Or kill two. Just kill Sydney. And I think that is where they might go with this film.

I can't watch Sidney, Gale or Dewey die. i cannot! AHHH. ok, maybe Dewey, because they make us think he's dead in every movie haha
I can't watch Sidney, Gale or Dewey die. i cannot! AHHH. ok, maybe Dewey, because they make us think he's dead in every movie haha
They need to make someone die. If they don't we aren't getting anything new. We are getting a fourth movie. There needs to be a shocking death. Leave one of them to live to tell the story kinda. Have Dewey die, but then have Sydney die as well in some last heroic effort. I always thought the perfect ending for the last movie in this franchise would end with ail reporting it just like she did in the first one.
I think Sydney should be the psycho killer in this movie...you know, like she finally snapped.
I like the idea, but it wouldn't fit with her overall character. She has suffered from all this, but she has always kept her mentality together to defeat the killer 3 times. No matter how paranoid she has become she figured out a way to hide it all and bring down the killer.

Or maybe even Have Dewey snap...but then that would be too much like Scary Movie, LOL. (Doofie)

It isn't a far stretch I just don't think it would fit with her character. Hahaha, Doofie was hilarious. No, Dewey definitely needs to get the axe this movie. he pretty mich is on the verge of dieing in every movie. If one of them should live it should be Gale.
