Is there a reason they wouldn't tell the cast something like that? It's starting to seem a little fishy. I don't want to cause panic, but is it possible that MTV is going to shelve this challenge for awhile, rather than showing it in April following the Real World, and that that's the reason no one seems to know much about the order? Might that decision be dependent on the ratings the Real World gets in that timeslot?
If I were a cast member that had just won a large amount of money on this challenge, I think I'd be a bit nervous about the seeming lack of information. Isn't there a reality television show clause that if the show never airs, you don't have to receive the money you won on it? I remember it once coming up with regards to the Amazing Race.

Nothing shady at all. The people shooting the show were in NZ and the people editing it were in LA (Van Nuys, actually). Perhaps I could have writtem that the subject never came because none of the cast thought of it?
There is no one from MTV present at the challenge taping so the crew is as likely in the dark as anyone. I can guarantee that the challenge will air: you can relax. I discussed the challenge with a senior exec on the fringes of the Paley Center RW Brooklyn event last Friday in NYC.

Oh, good. It makes sense that the crew knows less than the editors and the execs, but I never would have thought of that.
there are a bunch of people who could easily be rookies... here is the list i have I AM ONLY LISTING THE PEOPLE I SEE AS REALISTIC (like going too far back isnt too realistic)
The Brooklyn Cast
The Hollywood Cast
The Sydney Cast (- Dunbar)
Alex, Steven (Denver)
Zach, Jose, Svetty (Key West)
Lacey (Austin)
Arissa, Irulan (Vegas)- something just seems realistic about them doing one?
road rules
The viewers revenge
+ Linette, Chanda, Aviv, Jesse, Johnnie
I THINK that is enough rookies
The Brooklyn cast was taping their show in NY until just before Thanksgiving. They could not have been in New Zealand in June and July
isn't this like the first challenge where they have 0 people new from the respective shows?
"respective shows?" I think you are going to need to explain that.
as in real world/road rules or am i hallucinating again?
if it wasn't for the delay wouldn't the brooklyn cast be on this season/
No, the challenge would probably still have been taping given the first production schedule I saw, if it had run the full length.
the Hollywood cast members were the new cast members of the duel 2.
Not really because Dave from Hollywood was on The Island.

Are you asking if this is the first time there have been two back to back challenges without a new season of RR or RW in between to provide us with fresh rookies?
well that time around it didnt count.
I just dont get why he bothered to showed up for the island he should of wait till this challenge he could of had his castmembers there support him.

I heard he left the island because he said it was boring. Maybe he went because he was expecting something more exciting. But yeah he should have waited for the Duel 2. I'm sure a strong alliance with his castmembers would have taken him far.

Basically. But Sean said I2 and G2 did the same thing. I don't remember all that, NAL.

The Austin season was done filming way before G2 and had already been airing for a while. But for some reason they decided against the Austin season doing G2 (and I was glad, as I was annoyed by that cast). So RW Philadelphia was the latest season for I2 and G2.
Sooo, without going through the whole thread because I'm lazy, when is this challenge going to air?
In about 2 months from now. Most likely right after RW Brooklyn ends.
Does the Duel 2 have to do good in ratings in order for the summer challenge to air or is the summer challenge already scheduled?
At the time of taping last year, the Duel 2 cast was told by producers that the show needed to do well for another challenge to be scheduled. Has anything changed? BMP and MTV aren't saying. BMP's casting person is talking to potential cast now about their possible availability, but it doesn't appear that anything is yet beyond the planning stage for a June challenge.

Oh, I see. I hope they do a Battle of the Sexes 3 :)
So how do they go about casting the show. Do they have the names already mapped out in advance or do they just go one by one?
It's a good question. I'll put it to BMP's PR person and see if she can get Scott Freeman to answer.
Yeah, I even said I was lazy in my original post. My bad V1.
No big deal. I hate to read entire threads too. I can take the heat; I've been carrying a certain Yankee third baseman on my shoulders for a couple of weeks now, enduring B's abuse... ;) Rivalry is healthy when both parties respect each other. Damn those Rays...
Is there a projected airdate for Duel 2 yet? RW Brooklyn is nearing the end around the beginning of April, and there has been no commercials or website up yet. Hopefully it will happen soon. I'm ready to see this challenge. :)

Some info is at the end of the Duel 2 spoiler thread. April 8 is the projected date.
