I'd still like to see that outburst. Sadely this outburst could mean the end of challenge-Katie
Haha...unfortunately the other person involved was not in NZ.

Yes but at least we know Katie's happy and I wish her and her new husband the best! Even if he is taking our crazy girl away haha. I wonder if he has seen the Katie-Veronica fight...hmmm
I thought I read somewhere that Nehemiah barely had a chance to unpack before he lost in the Duel...and that the order goes Nehemiah, Isaac (vs Landon), Eric.
Based on the spoilers I thought Nehemiah would've actually been gone sooner, it's nice that even though this is a spoiler thread there is still some element of surprise in terms of the set leaving order and who faces off in the duel. I don't see Landon being the last man out, Isaac is crazy if he pulled Landon into a Duel, maybe he was trying to pull a Shauvon. Sad Ruthie looks like she's going to be out kind of soon, she's such a great competitor and seems like a cool chick but being out of the RW universe appears to have hurt her in the end.
V1man I find all of your comments very interesting, I thought the core alliance also included Paula, Landon/Britini and that Rachel and Mark were always alligned pre-Island. But based on what you are saying, now I'm thinking that Landon probably came in stronger than maybe any of the main guys anticipated and they figured out early on it was in their best interest to bring him in on the fringes of the alliance, though I'm still puzzled how newbie Brittini was able to catch a ride on that train. I'm also guessing that the "hot tub" tryst hinted at earlier in the thread is what solidifies Rachel's place within the core alliance. One of the things that I like and respect about Rachel is how she adapts, when she got pushed out of the BOS the first time she figured out what she had to do to become a power player on the next challenges it looks like she's done the same thing after the Island and realizing she was out of the loop. I think this distinguishes her from Ruthie who's a strong physical player but either doesn't know or doesn't care to play the game strategically.
So, the whole partner deal seems to explain a bit of what we saw to some extent in who was being eliminated--it struck us at the time that some, but not all, of the people who got eliminated together seemed like they would have been partners on the show. I guess now we know that while the voting doesn't officially involve picking two people at a time, that's what it has turned into unofficially. So it seems to make sense that (IIRC) Paula and Dunbar go in at the same time, Ruthie and Isaac, etc. Of course, there might be other factors at work in addition to or instead of what I have just proposed. I'm just guessing.

Make no mistake, the real alliance is ONLY Evan, Brad and Mark. The women are simply necessary accessories who need to be managed so they do not have a negative affect on E/B/L's game. That alliance may actually have been formed in part because they knew Landon would be there.
Landon's choice of Brittini means that she can be carried a long way in the game, but she also becomes a target for someone wishing to weaken Landon's game.

(FYI: Duel II cast members do read this thread and an occasional factual course correction is necessary based upon what gets thrown over the vevmo transom in the middle of the night.)

Very, very well put. I definitely agree that Rachel amazes me by her ability to recognize her faults and quickly fix them in order to survive and dominate.
I agree, if Isaac were to call in Landon he must be nuts, but we all know Isaac so....
V, by R/B/L are you referring to Rachel, Landon, and Brittni?

No -- I was correcting it when you posted... E/B/L = Evan/Brad/Landon

Oh okay. Thanks. Yeah I was really hoping they went into more detail about partners because looking back at the eliminations, it makes so much more sense as to who went home with who. Editors sometimes....
TJ, I was thinking the same thing, and I would say Rachel, but she still has Mark.

Don't discard the possibility that when men in an alliance see women as necessary accessories, then the accessories can be shared as necessary. It's "bros before ..."
So who is Evan's partner now, now that he's "done" with Paula?
I think it would be either Rachel or Diem. Since Diem was previously Dunbar's partner, and now Dunbar is with Paula, maybe Diem will be Evan's partner.
Thanks Dartagnan!

Hmmm, interesting can't wait to see how it all plays out. Thanks for filling in the blanks, your insight is like my crack.
Question about this "partner" thing: is this an actual part of the game? Like they chose partners? Or is it just some sort of unspoken thing where everyone knows who will choose who? I don't really understand that.

Like V had mentioned in the episode thread, the castmembers mention partners but the edit has given us no clue as to what the significance may be.
I am assuming that like you said, it's just an unspoken everyone knows who they would pick. Or maybe after the challenge on the ice, they figured partners may be needed again, so they are sticking to certain people?
Again, BMP, thanks for nothing! :p

To quote Shakespeare in Hamlet, "aye, there's the rub."
You're going to have to stay confused a but longer. There will come a point where I think BMP will have have a cast member explain this to us in at interview or it will not make sense.
I want to see Katie in push-over.
I wonder what their game plan was to get rid of CT before going into this? I truly believe that if CT would have behaved, he would have been one of the winners.

I think that if CT would have stayed Landon had a good chance of beating him one on one in a duel. Landon has physical skills, possesses a level head and I don't think he would back down from anyone in a duel. CT gets flustered too easy and if he were in a duel involving puzzles I think that Landon would be able to figure it out faster than CT could.
I also think that MJ, Dunbar or even Mark would do well in a physical challenge against CT. Heck I think even Eric would do well against CT in the pushover duel.
Besides who would be in an alliance with CT? Diem and Aneesa? I don't think any of the guys would have his back and they had a secret plan to get rid of him anyway. BTW I wonder who his "partner" would have been had he not been kicked off the show? Was it Shavon?

If he didn't hook up with Shauvon it probably would have Diem.
I don't know about anybody beating CT unless its a puzzle, the guy is an animal.
Well Brad did beat him by DQ in one of the other challenges if I remember correctly so anything is possible. I think that someone like Landon has a good chance against him one on one because I see him as a strategist who plans his next move. CT is just like a raging bull LOL

CT smoked him and he only lost because CT ripped the flag off, same thing happened to Beth. Beth and CT both could have won the Duel.
I love Brad but CT is an animal.

Not to turn this into a CT forum, but I disagree with some of this. Landon is perhaps the only one could take CT in 2 of the 5 duels, perhaps, but CT would beat him in Push Over, Back Off, and The Elevator imo. CT would have been 1 of the 6 winners had he stayed because those Duels favored him, esp the physical ones. Evan would have avoided CT at all cost, and it is evident now that Evan was afraid of the Duel, so the gibberish about him and Adam conspiring to set up a CT vs Evan duel is make believe imo.
I think Evan probably is the toughest to take in a Duel now that his confidence is somewhat retored. From the spoilers, preivews, and edits ..... it looks like Evan sees the Duel at least once more or perhaps 2 more times.
We know Derek takes down Big Easy in the Duel Pole Dance and eventuall Brad beats Landon (based on injury, which could mean that this was a "mock" or "predetermined" duel), but who Dunbar, Nehemiah, and Derek loses to is still a mystery for now. If Nehemiah kept his word per the dallies, he picked Evan, ditto for Dunbar. I could see Derek going for either Mark, MJ, or Landon. MJ knew that he too is a disposable pawn, and I am curious to who he picked as an opponent.
For the females, I await, and may still wait when the show ends to see if anyone calls out Rachel.

I think if CT channels the same actions he did in the Duel, it would be enough to fluster any opponent...at least me, anyway. I just kind of sat there with eyes wide open.

CT is batshit crazy and I don't think anyone could beat him in the Duel unless it was a puzzle.

I don't know the order of the duels and who takes out who but if its true I can't wait to see Derek take out Big Easy. I love Eric but he is not the most athletic guy in the world. I can't wait to see the Brad/Landon duel and how it pans out. I love Brad too but truthfully I can't see Landon losing to anyone unless it was due to an injury.
If I was one of the girls I wouldn't call out Rachel. I would think you would want to pick someone who you have a chance of beating. Rachel is in tip top shape and for whatever reason she does not want to go into a duel with Aneesa. I think it if came down to it she wouldn't want to go up against Jenn either.
Guys this whole partners thing might actually play a big factor. For example in the first episode Robin picked MJ then they were both on the ice challenge together finally in the end of episode two they were both going to the duel.Like Nehemiah said he is actually responsible for Brooke and Davis going home since he knew that
Paula=Dumbar and Brooke=Davis.
Lol it´s funny how the whole alliance deal works again basically Evan,Brad and Mark are using Landon for now then before the final they got rid of him(though it was because he was injured.)Note it might seem the each one of this guys are playing a different role like Brad is just being nice to everybody and he even said that he wouldn´t want to call anybody if he was the last guy picked. While Mark Long is respected by everybody so no one will one to call him out and his just into trying to win challenges so that him and his guys are the ones that are chosen at the begging. While Evan is pulling all the strings and giving the impression to everybody that he is running the game. This may be since he made it far in the first duel so people will think that right after CT, making Evan is basically the strongest guy. You guys might remember that Evan said in the first duel that he could take out anybody and that CT was the only one between him and the 150k.I feel bad for Landon though am I the only one the feels he is getting used?I mean the reason why Mark long picked Landon was so that Landon wouldn´t call him out(is better to have the strongest competitors as allies rather than enemies)same as with Rachel and Anessa,Rachel knows that Anessa is strong enought to take her out so it would be better have her picked rather than having her as an enemy. The last episodes are going to be interesting to watch since it will be the big alliance having to screw each other over.I think that the might be one of the reasons there are keeping MJ around since he and Landon were on the same season I´m sure the are good friends so that might make Landon believe that he is part of the alliance.
