First off, I have to make a formal apology to one Brittani Sherrod for underestimating her and her athletic prowless. I along with many other vevmoers have consistantly doubted her full potential because of her partner. No more.
RMD - I dedicate the following to her, so the next time you talk to her, let her know that some of us do acknowledge that a mistake was made in questioning her capability. I wrap up my apology with a short poem
Ode to Brittani,
I am guilty of viewing Landon as your crutch
Then, you prevailed against Rachel in the clutch
Underestimated because of your model looks and linky frame
I plead guilty with moderate shame
Surprised by your stamina and sheer will
You kicked *** last night, as I watched with thrill
Please forgive me for my disdain disregard
Never again will I doubt the physical spirit of Brit Sherrod.

Wow an analytical statistician AND a deep, poetic soul, you must use both sides of your brain! Would you like to borrow a candle from the Brit shrine V1 made me dismantle or is it a bit too soon :D

I don't have a brain. However, I as an engineer, I resent the term statistician because I believe in solving problems not regenerating numbers from history. My memory bank doesn't work that well, so must rely on figuring things out.
I'd take a candle from the Brit Sherrod shrine, but only to use it as a temporary light since the earthquake had disrupted my electric service here in California. I would come back from Europe only to be greeted back by an earthquake.

Awww but how can you solve problems with no brain grasshopper? Unless you are a robot from the future sent back in time to save yourself and collect MTV challenge trivia.
Glad your electric service was the only thing that got interrupted in the earthquake though. . .
This is going to get sent to the off the reservation thread isn't it?

You have me pegged. However, something about Brittini's win over Rachel caused a moment. You have to admit, she did pretty well last night and perhaps established herself in the upper tier on the female's side of things. At least give me that while you make me feel less than Aesop(msp?) on my poetic efforts.
Yup. As I watched the episode this is exactly what I was thinking. Suspension trauma is very real. Being suspended like that (upright, with your legs underneath you) for as little as 5 minutes can be deadly. You often hear of soldiers who are forced to stand in place and then end up passing out...it's the same thing. Except, when they faint the blood that pooled in their legs is able to return to the heart. When you're suspended in the air, however, you need to be let down asap.
I was surprised to read that professionals aren't suiting them up. :treaten:
I think that is extremely irresponsible when doing stunts as dangerous as those.
Screw that. If I were on the show, the second I got an inkling that someone didn't know what they were doing I would be out of there. You'd think that BMP would think of the liability.....unless the cast has to sign something saying that BMP is not liable for anything that may happen. :fear2:
Those are good points and I think that Evan, Mark and Tori should not be viewed as not showing up for this challenge. The last thing I want to see is someone doing severe damage to themselves because of a technical glitch. I did find it very strange in the preview that Evan would give up on a mission since he knew he was a target to go into the Duel if her were to lose the challenge. And Rachel's diss of Tori was uncalled for. I'm sure Tori was very uncomfortable and was in severe distress.
I must say this was my favorite episode so far. I loved the challenge and am glad that they went with an individual winner. Landon continues to be a beast and I was impressed with the job Brittani did.
I thought Dunbar was going against Derek as well. I was happy to see that Dunbar stood by his word and did not call Derek into the Duel. I know that Dunbar must have been pissed when he saw that they would be competing in the Elevator Duel. That must have been really tough especially after the Burnt Challenge. Both his and MJ's arms must have been sore as heck after that one.
I don't know why Paula picked Aneesa she should have picked Diem. I will give both ladies props for putting up a good fight. I don't know what it is with Aneesa but when she gets the physical duels she goes into a zone and brings it. I also noticed how they seemed to change the rules for the back off Duel but it seemed to work out in productions favor as they got a good faceoff between the two ladies.
I also enjoyed the interaction and resolution between Paula, Dunbar and Evan. I thought it brought the arc to a close in a nice way. For me that is a big thing to admit to seeing that I don't particularly care for those 3 lol
Loved the preview for next week. Rachel must be so gassed up that Aneesa and Jenn are arguing over her. I hope that someone comes out next week and calls Rachel on her duplicitious ways!

good catch on the Back Off duel change. I really believe this was the result of the Ruthie vs Kim Backoff duel where Kim basically baited Ruthie to her side of the Duel and won using her brain. I could see where everyone would be just waiting for their opponent to come to their side.
You're not funny Evan.
So true, I think that exact same thing everytime they show one of his confessionals (which is WAY too often).
I actually used to like him in past seasons, but without Kenny, he's just annoys me.
I'm going to miss Paula and Dunbar's disfunctional relationship.

She did pretty well, I'm glad for her. I'm sure it did much for her mental psyche and I'm sure it also shook up the other girls and put them on notice that maybe Rachel and Tori aren't the only ones they should worry about. Though I also know Tori didn't just mentally check out, obviously MTV needs to add some money to their budget if they can't get professionals to prep the contestants for stunts. I'm pretty sure that's not the first time I've heard something about people getting seriously injured in a way that could've been prevented with better planning.
Btw, I wasn't trying to make you feel less than Aesop, I actually thought your poem was quite lovely. For the record I try to use as little sarcasm as possible in my internet posts, it doesn't tend to translate well without the voice inflections and eye rolling. So for the most part, you should take what I write at face value. Unless it's clearly over dramatic and ridiculous.
I'm happy that Paula went home. No more whining (at least until the aftershow).
Good work Brit. I underestimated her somewhat I guess.
Seeing Landon in this challenge, I regret seeing CT get sent home ONLY b/c I would like to see how those two match up.
People I would like to see in future challenges:
Baya, Scott, Ryan (Brooklyn)
Tricia, Parisa (Sydney)
Will (Hollywood - I would say Joey but I doubt he would do it, with the booze and all)

I agree on the possible Landon/CT matchup. Ct is a great competitor but IMO Landon is phenomenal and more well rounded. Not to mention the fact that he is probably more level headed and would not get flustered or emotional. CT would probably have the physical edge but Landon probably has more endurance.
I think I have read that Scott is not interested in doing any more reality type shows as he is focusing on his acting and modeling career. I would love to see him change his mind though. He looks like he is in great shape and he's easy on the eyes which is always a plus :D

I am pretty sure I have heard that he is back to drinking on a regular basis.

Oh yeah?
If that's the case and he's got it under control, then I'd like to see how he'd do.

I am pretty sure they do because of something discussed in the spoiler thread
I was initially pleased that Rachel would be on this challenge, but she's managed to downgrade herself from merely underwhelming to obnoxious. Whatever Rachel was doing between Inferno 2 and The Island, I'd like to put in a formal request that she go back to that. I have money. I'll pay.

Sorry, I thought you were joking, but I misintepreted. My bad.
I do find it amazing that BMP would hire less than professional safety personnel to ensure the safety of the contestants. I'm surprised that the contestants didn't complain more imo.

They did complain, but you wouldn't expect to see major complaints during the episode would you? Look for some serious *****ing about BMP during the reunion show. The producer on occasion does have serious brass balls and would not be shy about including honest criticism in the reunion, especially if he agreed that his cast children were in danger. Scooter is a very decent guy.
Honestly, I was surprised that Tori quit as well as Evan, but I can understand the discomfort being way too much. And I am completely surprised Brittini won, but I think Rachel should have conserved her energy.
Bye Dunbar and Paula! Paula got whooped.

yes she did but I have to admit, she put up quite a fight..
I agree Ms. Dynasty, I am not going to say she didn't try, but picking Aneesa sealed the deal for her. I would have picked Diem in her case.
Hellz yea!! Diem's poor soul didn't seem to be in the game..But as I always say I would never underestimate anyone [[except in this case]] hahahaha
I agree Ms. Dynasty, I am not going to say she didn't try, but picking Aneesa sealed the deal for her. I would have picked Diem in her case.
I would have picked Diem a long time ago.
TJ and Dart, I agree with you both..I really wonder why Diem hasnt been called into a Duel earlier..If its about the whole line order, I say screw it..Its all for one in the end.
I am going to say that she is just a big wallflower. She doesn't interact much, she is relatively drama-free, and Evan is her partner. She really doesn't stand out much.
And can I say her fall was painful to watch, yet funny?
Diem NEVER gets picked. She was picked once for fresh meat, and picked once for the duel, both times she has threw a big fit. I'm pretty sure if someone sent her in on the Gauntlet they probably thought CT would work them.
I don't dislike Diem but she's not a favorite. I just don't understand why nobody EVER picks her.

Why would anyone not pick her just because she fought cancer? I know that she has been through a lot and I really respect that she has battled her way through it but this is a game... People are gonna pick her sooner or later. But other than that I think she is ok.
