Why I disagree. How is it any different from the other shows and documentaries where people uload episodes? In any country you go to you will find shows online that aren't official by the people making it or affiliated with it. There's nothing they can do because they can't go after any and everybody.
You may disagree all you wish, but that does not make you right. There is an entire body of case law regarding intellectual property (IP) rights, and there is also an international convention regarding IP. Three years ago two of our shows were pirated by a German torrents site. The litigation was quick in the EU. They now have to pay us for each time the show was downloaded/exchanged among its members. I appreciate their success and the resulting income.
I would like to see more variety in challenges. Balance out the physical with mental and endurance.
Add more focus to the other storylines. Recent challenges have been top heavy on challenge and strategy and lacking on the personalities that used to shine through in some of the older challenges.
Again with the editing, I can't add anything which has not been already stated.
OK people, enough with bashing me for asking GENIUINE question. I know by now that Vman is a very appreciated member here, and he personally answered my question. PROFESSIONALLY. Obviously people need to do THEIR research before they jump to conclusions about another member's intent.

Daveyy asked a very reasonable question -- a little off topic -- so I answered him privately. Exchanges between two people should take place by PM and not within the forum.

I applaud some of the ideas in this thread. Unless any of you have trademarked them, I'm going to borrow from some of them and discuss them with cast/clients and BMP. I think it is time to formalize the smart viewer's discontent with the format and execution of the challenges. Many cast members have expressed similar concerns and interests over the past couple of years. I think it is time to ask BMP to listen. (This will probably take a few months)
I like the smell of change.. I can't wait to see what they will do in future challenges if they incorporate some ideas and suggestions from here of course..
Would it be a possibility to have another castmember [[who isnt actively involved with the challenge]] be the challenge host like Dan [[bots 1, Inferno 2]] Or would there be too much contraversy about it?? Dan is sooo funny I love him and I think he would add more personality when talking about rules and such..Or perhaps he can be a reunion/aftershow host [[no offense to Mark]]
I also wondered about the hosts of the challenges..Where do they go when they are not talking about prizes and the rules of the game??
Heh heh I like that last one..Invite a castmember who can't stand TJ LOL
Didn't Syrus get into it with one of the hosts...was it TJ?

Ah I remember that happening on G2...not sure Syrus hates TJ though as it was during a Gauntlet and everyone was um....sweaty? lol Anyway I think the way to improve any challenge....is invite some Vevmo members on there :P

sweaty??
Ummm, yeah unless they have competitions on running our mouths, or typing the quickest reply's I dont think we got a shot in hell, LOL. I mean don't get me wrong, if I put a month into it, I could be in great shape, BUT even if I was in tip top shape, I am just so freaking lazy to want to run, although put that prize in front of me and I just might have to show everyone how it's done. LOL
PS that final line was SO sarcasm cause I would be the one who has an asthma attack 2 inches from the finish line, LMAO. :D

Hahaha Stacie!! Seems like we got another Big Easy on our hands folks..You know what that means.. Hehe jk Stacie..
But im sure if Vevmoers could get a shot at a challenge we'd be training and working our ***** off..Hell, I know I would be!! Im also sure that if the challenges were more like BOTS1 the chances for vevmoers to win would be higher.

How about they cast more people with very interesting personalities..Idk sometimes I just dont see how some people got chosen opposed to the other thousands..So I'd like to see that personality shine more too
To build off of what Ms. Dynasty said, instead of casting more interesting people, just give everyone airitme, which in turn can give people their moments to shine.
STOP casting Kenny and Johnny. They add nothing to challenges but being annoying camera ******* ******. You don't even love to hate them, you just plain hate them. They vote out all the interesting people.
It's no secret that ratings for the challenges aren't what they once were. What do you think could be done to improve the quality of the show as well as the ratings?
Here are some of my suggestions:
First and foremost, the advertising needs to be improved. I've found that in recent challenges, I have not seen as many promos as I have in the past. I remember in the month prior to The Gauntlet 3 airing, MTV ran commercials like crazy. And I know a lot of kids at my school were really excited to see the Gauntlet 3. I remember when I told my friends that I was watching The Island, the majority responded "what's that?"
Secondly, I think the challenges need to be improved. I feel like every challenge on the Duel 2 is strength based, and Landon and Mark have been winning all of them. I miss the days when they had silly challenges like Laser Tag and sitting on blocks of ice. I would also love to see another game show type of challenges (like Battle of the Opposite Sexes or the Newlywed-style game they had on Battle of the Seasons).
Also, I do not think they should make people leave right away after they are eliminated. I miss the days when we could see people crying while packing their bags, or talking crap on their way to the van that would be taking them home.
Here's one thing that has really irked me on recent challenges (especially the Duel 1&2). They need to start showing the times of individual heats again during challenges. I know they did it on last night's episode of The Duel 2, but they did not during the "Don't Let Go" challenge. I thought that was a great idea for a challenge, but the fact that I did not know how long people were dangling over the edge for make the challenge less interesting.
Also, if something is put in the trailer for the show, please include it in the actual show, and make it part of a story. I remember during the Inferno 3 they had a clip of Janelle yelling at Johnny because Johnny said he got her pregnant. Or during the Gauntlet 3 they only showed one of the two Katie freak-outs, and what they did show was very quick and did not make sense.
I also miss the pre-shows they used to do. Sure, we all know who Evan or Dunbar or Paula are at this point, but it's interesting to hear what other cast members think of them prior to the show starting.
The final thing that I think needs improvement is casting. There are a hundred ways that casting could be improved, but I'll just suggest this one thing...don't cast the same person for too many challenges in a row. I know a lot of people who like Kenny and Paula out there, but there are also some faithful views who dislike these two. To be courteous to those who dislike cast members like Kenny or Paula, do put them on 4 or 5 challenges in a row. I can understand 2, maybe 3, challenges but 4+ is definitely pushing it.
Stop bringing back the fresh meat people so much. We've had enough of Diem, Evan and Eric (much as I love them). If Evan or Kenny are there, they will just control the game and it will be obvious who is getting kicked off so that makes it predictable and boring. So it will be much more interesting if there isn't one core alliance that just takes everyone out. It would be better if there are two big alliances going back and forth like a war, like on I Love Money 2.
And also bring back the Blair after show. Stop focusing on Paula and Dunbar's lame drama. They did too much of that. The most entertaining person on this challenge was Jen IMO. Isaac was also entertaining. They should have focused on Jen and Rachel more.
I think this next challenge will be really good though. Even if some of our favorites get kicked off.
They have entertaining people like Casey, Wes, Kelly Anne, etc.
The Fresh Meat are a Legit part of the challenges now. They WILL keep casting them for future challenges. And everyone's just going to have to deal with that.
And V1 isn't Blair doing a show on G4?
Some of my suggestions:
1) Continue casting some of the true veterans. Obviously, many of them are getting older and busier and do not want to participate in the show, but continue casting them for as long as they will do it. I know there has been some discussion on the forum that BMP will no longer ask true veterans on challenges, and hopefully that is all hogwash and rumors. If one takes a look at these shows at a ratings standpoint, he or she will notice that the only challenges that rate well are those have Coral, Veronica, or Beth on it. I do not usually give BMP any props or credit on anything they have done in the last 5 years, but the cast for this upcoming challenge is actually pretty perfect as far as a good mix of veterans and newer players and hopefully the trend will continue for upcoming challenges.
2) a Battle of the Seasons 3 or a Battle of the Sexes 2 - obviously a BOTSeasons cannot be RW v. RR, but I can imagine them doing it differently, Exile style or Duel style where there are teams of two people from different seasons of RW, RR [one guy, one guy], and heck even an FM team - and they are playing for themselves. I know it has been expressed that a BOTSexes sequel would be difficult at this point, but hopefully there would be a way for that to happen with fair missions for both sexes.
3) Bring back the scoreboard for at least one challenge - it will be interesting to see how "fair" the game is and would cause major drama, which is what made BOTSeasons & BOTSexes so wonderful.
4) Stop casting useless people for several challenges in a row. The glory days of the original mediawhores are over (Coral/Veronica/Rachel/Katie/Abram/Mike/Beth/Tina/Tonya, etc.). Nobody except for those people are interesting enough that me or anyone for that matter would want to see them on TV for 3 years straight. People like Paula, Nick, Tyrie, Dunbar, etc. may be likeable, but they are not good TV and there is no reason why they should be on so many challenges in a row.
5) New host. No More TJ, please. I'mn not gonna beat around a dead horse and be unrealistic and say bring back Mosley because that will never happen, but maybe someone with more personality and/or brains than Teej.
6) Umm better locations? Yay for Thailand, but there's been how many seasons in Mexico now? I'm sure it's probably dirt cheap to film there, but a lot of these castmembers see these shows as a vacation and how many people are going to want to keep going to Mexico again and again?
7) Better promotion - obviously this is up to MTV. They need to promote the show better and possibly re-run marathons of old challenges like they used to. Yeah I'm sure those don't give good ratings, but I can't imagine they would do much worse than a marathon of Parental Control. And start promoting the show earlier with different commercials, rather than the same trailer shown again and again and again.
I think that's pretty much all I can think of. Hopefully BMP/MTV will get to read this and maybe take some of this into consideration...
I remember during RW Brooklyn, the commercials were amazing. The ones with a different cast member talking, and they had their each individual commercial. They should start doing that with the challenges, and hopefully there is some for RW Cancun.
I agree with everything that has been said. The only suggestion I can make is that if BMP wants better ratings and drama, go with the secret voting method. Have everyone write a name on a piece of paper for who they want to go into the duel, gauntlet, inferno, exile, pit and people will explode. It's a simple change that will score for BMP big time.
ways to improve:
1. take a clue from the Survivor creators and figure in some twists in the game to help bust up the alliances. Imagine the paranoia freaks reaction if suddenly in week 6 TJ said, "Today's challenge is this puzzle building thing and the 2 slowest times for each gender will be going into Tonight's Duel" That would be outrageous. This picking order is boring. The twist on the Island when TJ announced that you could steal someone's key was nice.
2. stop trying to be so creative with these new-fangled duels and go back to some of the simpler ones that worked well in the past like Beach Brawl, Pole Wrestle, Dead Man's Drop or how about agood ole obstacle course. Keep it simple. The Elevator pull is not entertaining at all, the duel where Landon beat Isaac is impossible to follow. I think Back Off is the only good one on this show.
3. don't always let people pick their own partners/teams for challenges. (Oh look, Landon and Brittini won again, how exciting) If say Tori and Eric once got stuck together, or other odd combos, that may develop some actual entertainment value. The finale of the Island was the worst finale in reality TV history because they picked their own team. Why? It appeared BMP would rather air a few minutes of Paula cryin up a storm at her betrayal than air a competetively compelling finale.
4. I agree with other people's suggestions about publishing everybodies' times for each challenge so that we know who sucks and who is a close 2nd etc. and I did like Bacchus's idea about split teams, one gets the cool house and the losing team sleeps outside.
The most entertaining person on this challenge was Jen IMO. Isaac was also entertaining. They should have focused on Jen and Rachel more.
I couldn't disagree more. The Aneesa-Jen-Rachel drama is so boring and old. If I have to watch another daily where Jen is trashing Aneesa and "wants her dead" I might go eat glass.
Jenn is the most annoying to me. Tries to befriend everybody, always has to get in on whatever topic. Jenn is the one with all the screen time, in which she complains about Aneesa in that sense. The best part about Jen was when Katie impersonated her on Duel II.
I do agree to cast more interesting people. The only difficult part it seems is that the new people are kind of boring (and less physically strong - All of the top dogs are from previous shows). Nick Brown? Bore. Adam King keeps coming back, but he is only interesting when CT beats the crap out of him.
More top dogs elimination rounds/duels would be nice. The "king of the mountain" type duels should occur more often. The Evans versus Marks, Brads versus the Landons, CTs versus MJs, and etc. We are lucky if we get one or two "top dog" duels or elimination rounds per season.
