As far as the Duel, to eliminate certain social groups from dominating the game with politics, put everybody's name into a random drawing (with the challenge winner for that day being exempt) and have the Duel match-ups determined that way. I think it'd be something different & not so predictable as far as who the people are who will be going in all the time.
On a Duel I'd rather see the strongest players battle it out. Drawing names leave things too random for my tastes. The players who performed the worse that day should go in. It doesn't matter if you're Evan, Rachel, Evelyn, Casey or Paula; if you sucked that day your *** is on the line.
Maybe that would bring the ratings up. The challenge has turned into this Real World-esque show with challenges thrown in. I'm sick of being shown who's hooking up with who and personal vendettas with lackluster challenges in between. Then being told during the reunion that this was "one of the toughest competitions in Challenge history."
Who are the biggest challenge stars? I don't mean who had a big storyline one challenge, but someone who is always the center of attention on the show. The list of the biggest challenge stars to me would be
1. Coral rw10
2. Mike rw10
3. Veronica rr8
4. Beth rw2
5. Tonya rw11
6. Katie rr10
7. Abram rr12
8. Derrick rr13
9. Ct rw13
10. Wes rw16
11. Kenny fm
12. Evan fm
13. Rachel rr11
14. Mark rr1
15. Tina rr12
Coral
Miz
Veronica
Beth
Tonya
Wes
Kenny
Evan
Katie
Aneesa
Derrick
CT
Tina
Robyn
Johanna
Diem
Abram
Definitely agree with Ruben on 1 through 5, gets a little debatable afterward though.
Question does Coral still hate Evan for what he did on the Gauntlet 3 because it seemed like she ignored him on the reunion show when she wasnt arguing with him ?
Question does Coral still hate Evan for what he did on the Gauntlet 3 because it seemed like she ignored him on the reunion show when she wasnt arguing with him ?
That question has been asked (and answered) a few times on this thread. The answer is around here somewhere...
I hope not. Since the Gauntlet, Coral's been placing unfair expectations on her male partners/friends. Every time I watch the Gauntlet or Inferno, it really annoyed me how much she manipulated her team and Mike especially into having things go her way, especially how she'd question their friendship every time he'd be leaning the other way. There's certain challenges where she stepped up in her own right (Battle of the Seasons, Battle of the Sexes 2, and Fresh Meat) and was the fierce competitor she claimed to be, but on the other challenges she really just got by on manipulation. I'm glad Evan sort of cut her loose on the Gauntlet 3, although it'd be fun to see them reunite for something like the Duel 3.
I mean I think Coral sometimes uses her manipulation when she has power and sometimes when she dosen't have power case in point the Gauntlet, The Inferno, Battle of the Sexes 2. Did you see how she manipulated the girls team on the Battle of the Sexes 2 but I do think she was her strongest on Battle of the Sexes 2 and Freshmeat. On Freshmeat she really didnt use her manipulating ways because she was always winning so there was no need. On the Gauntlet 3 she realized that her friends aka Veronica, Rachel,Mike,Abe,Tina,Alton and many others weren't there and she had people who she thought were her friends CT and Evan and her only true friends on the Gauntlet 3 Katie. I hope she comes back to do another Challenge.

I hope so too. When I have talked to certain true veterans of the game they have stated they are not coming back.
ex: Veronica, & Tina
It is sad to see the legacy now is Evan & Kenny. It is interesting when you think about it. They have kind of taken over the game the way the girls use to play (ex: Veronica) and it is just not as entertaining anymore.
When people say they are done they never really mean it!
Coral was amazing in both aspects, mentally and physically. She manipulated people and won lifeshields. She did what she had to do to win the game, as did Veronica. The game is 50% politics/strategic and 50% physical.
Wes and Abe always resembled one another, in my opinion.
I am surprised they called him back after he basically quit the Island.
I think Abe left for a more understandable reason. Dave quit in the same episode because he didn't want to be there but Abe left because he needed to go back to work to ensure everything worked out back home.

I understand that, but my theory is, make sure everything is fine and settled back home before you leave for a challenge. Many people cancel right before the show, that's what replacements are for. I didn't think it was right he went, and then quit while other castmembers could have been asked in his place.

You can't say, "Everything is okay now, so it'll be calm during the entire duration of the challenge." Things happen that are out of anyone's control, hence the word 'surprise'. Holding someone accountable for that is entirely unreasonable.

I think the more recent challenges are more politics. Especially The Ruins and FM2. That's all they seem to talk about is politics/strategy. Yes the challenge aspect was somewhat physical, but politics/strategy outshined the physical aspect. I would say a more 80% politics/strategic and 20% physical. :)

I kind of feel as though they are. They dont really like it because it is "new people" who basically get rid of the old people and newer people than them.
Both Veronica & Tina have told me they are done. Its sad to hear but who knows what will happen.
I really feel it comes down to what people are doing with themselves at the time. After having about a four year absence of both Landon and Darrell and Cyrus only to see them come back for the Duel 2, and Ruins, I really feel as though most challengers won't put their real life on hold for these shows, but if the stars align correctly, why not go to an exotic location with some old friends.

I think the way Abe quit, was the best way anyone has ever quit..not only did he knew he was leaving he still competed in a challenge when he didnt need too, and he still let the cast members decide..its not like he just said im out no discussion.

Veronica said she was done a long time ago and she showed up to do the Ruins. Tina was kind of a different story. I think if she was asked, she might say yes.

Veronica I believe had a bad challenge experience on the Ruins so I do not think she'll be back, for real this time. Unless they get an old timers vs newbies challenge. I think the same for Tina.

Honestly, most people wont leave a business back home that is on the rocks. He quit. It might have been "the best way possible" but he still quit. If he wasn't "voted off" he would have left that night. The entire work situation seemed a bit fishy. If it was family or health related, I would give the person more sympathy. Who's to say he didn't back out again, do to work?
I was wondering this, are cast members required to tell BMP if they're moving or getting a new phone number, etc.? Cause I was thinking if they're not required to or only required for a certain amount of time, it might be hard to contact older cast members for challenges because they might have changed their number without alerting BMP. I'm sure they have emails for this purpose, but once again, what if someone changes their email?

I doubt it. If they wanted to be contacted, they'd let the right people know. We're not talking about sex offenders or registered felons here. :p
I wondered the exact same thing about the contacting thing. I mean how in God's name did they get ahold of Jo for Gauntlet 2? How did they get ahold of Roni for Gauntlet 1? Furhtermore, how the hell did they get ahold of Melissa (Miami) for the awards bash!?

I'm sure there are ways (well obviously). And plus the Gauntlet 1 wasn't that long after non-elimination challenges. Roni had already appeared on a challenge (and won) before then. And Tara, Dan, and Anne from her season had appeared on the two seasons leading up to it so I don't think Roni was too far-fetched at that point.
And I think if we can find information on these cast members, then BMP sure as hell can.
