Fun fact: The pool at the Hard Rock Las Vegas is named "rehab".
Who cares where the show is? Are the cast members good? Is it funny? Is it full of drama?
Put 8 crazy strangers in a house in Fayetteville Arkansas and you'll get TV just as good as if you put them in Toronto if the casting is good enough. All they need is a bar and some deep-seeded insecurities.
There is a show on truTv about Rehab, and interestingly enough, Jonna from Cancun works at Rehab and is featured on the show.

That's interesting I am pretty sure someone else mentioned that before, I have yet to see it though.
I hope this cast will be as good and diverse like the first Las Vegas cast was. Las Vegas is still my favorite season. Reunited: Las Vegas was even better. I have the complete Las Vegas season on DVD. So I'm hoping Back To Las Vegas can live up to the first one or I will be very upset and won't ever watch Real World again.
This move reeks of desperation. Go figure that they are up for renewal after this season. I personally hated the original Vegas season but it's more than obvious that BMP loves it. I don't watch the show anymore but for some reason it still excites me when the next loaction I announced. I am once again disapointed, not surprised though.
It's obvious the show has run it's course they are desperate to get it renewed thus the Back to Vegas stunt. I feel like the show is experiencing Elvis: The Fat Years syndrome, let it die already please.
I think back to Miami wouldve been a better choice they haven't been there in 14 years now.
May this also be a strategic move for The Real World? This potentially eliminates the option for the Jersey Shore cast to shoot in Vegas for it's 4th season.
If they had that in mind, good for them.

That would be very interesting.
Gotcha. But Do you really think if they renewed the show and it wasn't a back to season that the network would have ordered only 2 more seasons? I'm interested. I really like these shows.
I don't think the network cares if it is "Back To" or not. The fact is that this show has appeals to a new generation every few years so the locations (even if they have been to them before) feel new to younger/newer viewers.
The current contract with MTV is for seasons 22 through 26. So MTV and BMP will be having contract discussions are some point film season 25 if airing / season 26 is filming. I have a feeling MTV has told BMP to get the ratings up and keep them there or the plug is being pulled.
I think it makes sense from a ratings perspective. The most recent "original" seasons - Cancun and DC - both tanked in the ratings, so I'd say they aren't taking any more chances at the moment, going back to a proven location.
Personally, I'm disappointed. But yah, I totally get it from the perspective of, to get the renewal, they need good ratings.
I think you've hit the nail on the head. Vegas is a proven ratings boost which is why lots of reality shows film there. BMP is taking the safe (and smart) route here.
Personally, I think they did a great job with Back to New Orleans so that gives me a little more confidence that they'll do an okay job with Back to Vegas.
On a side note, if BMP wants people to watch...cast some hot people who don't like wearing clothes (like Hawaii season). Vegas is a place they can get away with that.

Depends how late they start filming...the temps severely drop off around mid-October (to ~70 degrees, but still).

Yeah, I'm not so keen on Vegas Part 2. I hated Vegas. It was actually the very first season I disliked immensely. From there, every season seemed to be hit or miss for me. It'll be filled with drama, but I just hope it's not filled with a fake cast.
I'm really surprised it was Las Vegas. I don't think I ever suspected that once during interviews.
Cancun, New Orleans, and Las Vegas..damn I missed out haha

The answer to those questions will probably be no.

Ahhhh Hawaii another one of my favorite locations. That wouldve been another good location to re-visit & dub it RW: Honolulu this time. The more that I think about it though I should be glad they haven't gone back to Miami or Hawaii. The two best seasons from this franchise should be left alone & not tainted with modern day casts so maybe they are doing me a favor.
That's kinda a bummer. I understand why they are going there, but I was really hoping for somewhere abroad.
Looks like they are back to party cities like Cancun, New Orleans, and Las Vegas. Guess we're gonna see Miami come back again soon...they'll show Jersey Shore how it's really done. lol jk jk.
I think this is a mistake and I agree with you. I would rather have seen the Real World in Prague than a freaking challenge. Challenges can be done anywhere really---all you need is a hill, some water, some fields, and a ton of off the beaten path alums.
Doesn't Vegas have bed bugs? We were talking about this in class about New York having them and somebody brought it up.
Errr, while certainly the oddest tangent I have been on on Vevmo, pretty much everywhere has bedbugs, especially hotels, and college dorms. They are mites that feed on your dead skin that gets absorbed into the bedding and soft furniture.
It seems like they're going to be filming over halloween and thanksgiving... have either of those ever happened before?
Brooklyn filmed during Halloween I believe but I think they went home before Thanksgiving.
BTW- Do you guys think they have the location picked out first and then try to build the cast around the location?
I don't think they pick the location first. I'm assuming all of the cast members will be 21 or older like the previous Las Vegas season. Having said that, I got a VIP pass to a season 25 casting call, but I'm younger than 21. I would assume that they wouldn't have even considered me if they had Las Vegas already picked out.

Well like someone said earlier Brooklyn, but also Hollywood, Key West, San Diego, and Chicago were all filmed during late summer & and Fall all up until Halloween at least. Like I remember during San Diego when Brad and Randy were the mario bros duo during halloween and during the Chicago season waaaaaay back in the day they had to put on some play for some kids that was halloween themed and this one chick was crazy and had this story that way to scary for the kids. LOL

Pretty much everyone got a VIP pass to season 25 casting calls.
I am not positive that they had it set in stone that they were going to Vegas when casting was going on, but that it was one of the final two or three places they were thinking of. I imagine that they definitely knew before the finals.

I think one of the ealier seasons, maybe LA, filmed through mid-december but the cast went home over Thanksgiving and went on a trip right before or right after that break. Seems to me it was whichever season it was that had the guy from Ireland.
