Being homophobic has nothing to do with being nice or mean. You can be the quietest person ever and still have homophobic tendencies. It lies within what you're exposed to or what you're taught to believe.
That's true but it is hard to call or define someone homophobic who doesn't actively treat gay people in a mean or derogatory way.
As for Frank, he's admitted in interviews that he believes himself to be a bit bipolar (which doesn't excuse his behavior, but may explain some of it).
It surprises me every day that nobody seems to see where he's really coming from. Even that therapist he consulted didn't diagnose him directly. Bipolar disorder is basically defined by mood swings of depression and mania that last several weeks, sometimes months before changing into the other extreme (Only in rare cases of Bipolar Disorder, after years the cycling becomes more rapid, but it's still not common for a switch within a week). Frank changes moods several times a day. Frank is the living image of Borderline Personality Disorder. And I wish that he would realize that, so he can work on it. It was funny to me when he had his first session with said therapist and the guy told him that he has enormous potential, if only he realized it (I don't understand how he could have beaten everybody else in RW history on his IQ test, but I definitely think he's not dumb). Right now, Frank doesn't realize and he's taking the easy way out by partying, having a gigantic ego and stomping all over everybody else so there wouldn't be a chance in **** he'd have to face himself. And hey, everybody keeps on feeding his ego and keeps on putting up with his bull****, what bigger confirmation could he get? You have to be on the very bottom to change, and he's on top of the world right now, because the world lets him be there. He's being a very ugly person right now, and that's probably because he couldn't confront himself with his issues. It would interest me what happened between him and Sam, because the way he treats her right now is another argument proving my point. Rejection, weakness, vulnerability, self-actualization, impulsivity, love turning to hate, some of the many topics with BPD. And that was my first post, thought I'd jump on the bandwagon here. :)
And that was my first post, thought I'd jump on the bandwagon here. :)
Also a well thought out statement. Hope it's not your last either.
It's very refreshing now to see the rookie teams in charge.
Frank is the living image of Borderline Personality Disorder. And I wish that he would realize that, so he can work on it. :)
^THIS. I was JUST going to respond to Mold's earlier post and say that there is definitely something wrong w/Frank, but it's not Bipolar...my guess is a personality disorder, and likely BPD! It would explain his rapid mood swings, volatile personality, attention-seeking behaviors, etc. It would also explain why he becomes so close with some people (i.e. Nany, Sam, etc.), gets into an argument with them, then proceeds to bash them publicly with no remorse. (I'm not suggesting neither of them did something to provoke him, but he seems to be lacking basic conflict resolution skills IMO.) Frank just seems so extreme - if he loves you, he LOVES you - and if hates you, he HATES you. And he really doesn't give two ishes about how he comes across. Personally, I find him rude and disrespectful....not to mention mentally and emotionally unstable! Someone else mentioned that some of the past challenge members have had that "love to hate" quality, while Frank is someone that you just hate....I want to root for the alleged "good" side of Frank, but it's hard for me to do that when he's so blatantly disrespectful - and downright hateful - to other people in the public eye (i.e. Trey, Dustin, Nany, Sam). That's not just TV - it's real life.
I was JUST going to respond to Mold's earlier post and say that there is definitely something wrong w/Frank, but it's not Bipolar...my guess is a personality disorder, and likely BPD!
For the record, I wasn't attempting to diagnose him; I was repeating what he once said in an interview.
Frank could just be an attention ***** with 3 levels: No Attention: When he has no attention, he gets mad that people aren't paying attention to him and all emotional, sometimes upset to the point of crying. Some Attention: Normal Frank who isn't that big of a deal, just maybe annoying. A Lot of Attention: Frank gets a huge head and now thinks he's the **** and can do what he wants, hence some of the fights and arguments he gets into.
Ashley is the hottest woman on this challenge, not McKenzie. I don't know why they cast Sam. She's a worthless character and competitor, and to make it worse Priscilla wanted to be on this challenge and they passed her over.
Obviously pretty much everyone on this show is mentally unstable - how else would they get casted?? And that's what makes the show so fun to watch (at least for me!) ...but something about this San Diego cast takes it to a whole other level of insanity.
I don't get all this hatred for Frank..Well I do get it but people are acting like he is the spawn of Satan. I do think that he (and the rest of his team) need to chill out with that ego. But he isn't awful.
Coming from the same guy who constantly berates three castmembers 90 times a day on this forum? Oye, let people have their opinions, your allowed to have yours ;). San Diego didn't hold my interest, but Frank didn't annoy me enough to turn me off of that show, the rest of the cast did. He is AWFUL and he is making great TV, which is why people are constantly talking about him. Isn't it the same with the other three cast members you hate? This forum would have a lot less posts if those other three cast members didn't exist. I don't see anyone talking about people like Sam. There is always going to be a villian, people are always going to talk about them.
I don't get all this hatred for Frank..Well I do get it but people are acting like he is the spawn of Satan. I do think that he (and the rest of his team) need to chill out with that ego. But he isn't awful.
Here's my list of reasons to hate Frank: 1. He was completely unstable during his season, and still is. If anyone hurt his feelings, instead of talking about it like a normal person he would completely freak out like a mutant. He has serious emotional issues, and seems to be proud of his behavior for some reason. Totally agree with the BPD diagnosis someone threw out earlier, BTW. 2. He's a total bully. Case in point: how he's treating Sam. We saw him hate on her girlfriend during his drunken rampage in episode 1. Now, on Twitter, we've seen him tweet more derogatory stuff about her girlfriend, post a side-by-side photo of her and some fat and ugly cartoon character, tweet "I just puked when I saw Sam covered in oil. Nasty." Also note him on the first night randomly declaring "I want to **** with Rob!" and his constant bullying of Trey on Twitter as well. This is great, especially considering point 1 above, where he'd flip out whenever anyone bullied him. But it's cool for him to bully other people. Got it. 3. Nothing makes me want to knock someone down a couple pegs more than them being a cocky mother****er...for no reason. His Twitter background talks about "fame" and "swag". Are you serious?! There are also plenty of tweets such as "I run this game, you fools can just play your role"; "I am running this *****, you're just a dog walker"; "My grandpa was a mob boss, guess it just runs in the blood"; etc. How can you NOT hate a ********* like that? Seriously. Maybe if I had never looked at his Twitter feed I wouldn't hate him quite so much. But even based on what you see on the show, it's obvious that he's an awful human being. I cannot WAIT until the whole house turns on him. It has to happen sometime. If not this season, they need to make sure he and someone like CT end up on the next challenge so I can watch him get crushed.
Frank is lucky ***** on this one, but if BMP will cast for another normal Challenge with normal cast, this kid gonna be beat-up like a baby.

I'm not stopping anyone from having an opinion and people are free to express it if they want. I'm just saying that he doesn't really bother me all that much...I guess it's because I didn't see all that much of his season (I've only seen about 2 or 3 episodes of it). And what he's done so far on this show doesn't really bother me at all. But I do think that he and his team needs to chill a little bit though...he is the villan of the show but in my mind he isn't as bad as those three castmebers who will remain nameless.

I have only seen a couple of episodes of San Diego's season as well, so Frank didn't really bother me until I saw his twitter. His twitter is pretty nasty.
That's because you haven't seen his tweets, he has done very offensive and derogative comments about Camila, Nany, Heather, Dustin
Really? Well I guess I need to see his Tweets then.
That's because you haven't seen his tweets, he has done very offensive and derogative comments about Camila, Nany, Heather, Dustin
What did he say about Camila, Nany and Heater?
If I just watched the show, I probably wouldn't hate Frank. I'd think he is annoying but I wouldn't hate him. My hate towards him comes from seeing his tweets. I cringe reading some of them because they are that mean. He never leaves Trey alone on twitter. Any chance he can tweet about Dustin's past he does. He attacks Heather who was never even on the challenge. He makes fun of Alton because he knows Alton doesn't have a twitter to defend himself. He calls Camila fat and criticizes her about her appearance. Then Zach posts pictures of Nany. I've never seen cast mates tweet such horrible things to other cast mates I'll never like Frank. EVER.
I can't stand Frank for the fact that he reinforces negative stereotypes on gays, it really ****** me off. However, I have to give him props on this challenge. he said he's going to run **** and well..dudes got skills.

If Frank & CT are cast on the next challenge together, I guarantee you all this little punk is going to get knocked back down about 1,000 pegs. And I say that not because of how he acts on the challenges or what he says on Twitter, it's his personality in general. He is exactly the kind of guy CT loves to punk out & expose for being a little *****
After seeing Zach go head to head with Dustin and not only not winning, despite having a significant height and weight advantage (yes, wrestling is often about leverage but there are different weight classes for a reason), but also resorting to dirty tactics to try to win (swiping at his face, punching him in the ribs), I don't think he could hang with a lot of the main vet guys, particularly CT since people like to draw that comparison. CT, and to a lesser extent some of the others, have a crazy switch that Zach doesn't have. Not the "beat you up" switch that CT has shown, but that "I'm gonna turn into an animal and not only beat you, but embarrass you" type deal. Zach might be one of the best athletes on paper to do the show...but I don't see that killer instinct that some of the others have and unless it was something that significantly favored pure size, I'm not sure I would bet on him.

So that's how he celebrated National Mean Girls day...
I see that Eric is trying to be mature about the situation, but I wish he would've went in harder on Zach. And deep, deep down I think he knows he shouldn't do doing challenges. I feel like he just wants 15 more minutes of fame because I can't picture him winning.
I don't know who to side with on that. Eric bringing up steroids seems desperate and Zach is right that Eric should have put himself in the Arena but that comment about Eric & Devyn wasn't needed.

His confessional this episode...He just came off so dull and lifeless.
The whole twitter thing is immature. but who knows maybe Zach and Eric will hit the gym together one day. I mean Zach used to hate Frank too... I do want to say, that it's not Zachs fault his hook broke, the team deserved to get a 20 min break before redoing it, especially when it was faulty equipment. And to be honest when you work your muscles 20 mins is not that big of a break, and I wouldn't expect them to do the course, have the hook break and then do the course all over again without a break that seems stupid. Unless I'm missing something?

A head-to-head match-up between the two would be very intriguing.

So they did about half the course, then the hook broke, they had a 20min break, and then they did the second half. Which is actually very unfair.
