I wonder why it is the show is ending stronger than it began? Do viewers see a season has started and then think "I'll come back when things get interesting."? Do they catch up online and then start to watch on tv? Does word of mouth gets them to watch? Interesting.

Once the drama picks up, the ratings pick up. It can either be drama from people fighting one another or it can be drama from intense competition. The final few episodes of Rivals increased significantly in the ratings because the drama exploded, from both fighting and intense competition.
Just curious if anyone knows why they don't rerun any episodes? I remember there was a time when you could catch up on every single episode right before the new episode aired.
I'm nervous for the renewal of The Challenges, normally they would have renewed it for at least one season by now.

Press release from MTV renewing the show came out on 3/30/12. http://vevmo.com/f266/the-challenge-mtv-renewed-march-2012-a-6866/
Ratings for all Wednesday shows are delayed so don't expect the rating tday
MTV already pretty much confirmed at least one more season with that poll they took online.
Some intern probably thought up that article. I'm waiting for an official press release before I get my hopes up.
I'm nervous for the renewal of The Challenges, normally they would have renewed it for at least one season by now.
TJ already confirmed it.
TJ already confirmed it.
Means nothing, just because BMP are making plans doesn't mean MTV have given them the green light.
Means nothing, just because BMP are making plans doesn't mean MTV have given them the green light.
No established production company would waste the time or effort in that case. Notice how RW casting calls haven't been announced because the contract hasn't been renewed yet?
Well it does hold some merit. I mean cast members have been right about series of RW premiering and Challenges premiering so I wouldn't say TJ is lying.
No established production company would waste the time or effort in that case. BGC is currently determining the new Bad girls for the next season (after atlanta)

The casting calls for Love Games never get a huge turn out, so apparently they are calling tons of guys who sent in aps for RW and asking them to try out for LG (like they do with FM) Poor saps have no idea what mess they're getting themselves into. But there's no doubt in my mind that the challenge and RW will be renewed. This season seems to be a hit with most and Portland has gotten a lot of publicity in the last couple of days with that new fight video leaked.

Love Games reminds me of G's to Gents for some reason only more absurd. Second Paragraph, I can understand why considering that city is not all that popular but an after thought anyway. (I mean that with respect, OPD).

terrible. MTV is kinda doing it to themselves by airing tons and tons of promos for THE LAST 3 EPISODES OF JERSEY SHORE THAT WILL BE RE-SHOWN 54975349857345 TIMES instead of promos for the challenge -_-

Holy mackerel that's a ratings slide. Probably didn't help that this episodes challenge was a dumb inferior copy of the same thing on cutthroat, but I assumed the ratings would stay high after that epic drama with Dustin last episode.

How could you possibly go from an increase like that in the last episode and not promote or show reruns after that? Makes no sense to me.
Maybe they didn't want to promote Marie being stupid.
This is just getting ridiculous. Plus it's not like this episode or the previous one were bad at all either.
Is this low ratings, well yes, am I surprised no. As a reality show junky the rating for this show is appropriate because of the casting. There really is a gap missing from these show to allow it to appeal to more people in the 20-30 age range. Even Teen Mom which is such a trashy show was better about evening out the cast (think Maci) than this show. 1- Someone who everyone will love: Sure they never really talk about it but we need someone who does a 100 volunteer hours in a month. Really good person and wants to save humanity. Someone everyone is cheering for and wants to tune in to see win. 2- More athletes on both male and female: I think Emily and Landon fits this characteristic but we need more people who run 5k and 10k for the heck of it. People who do rock climbing and rowing on their weekend. There is a big difference between people who live in the gym 24 hours and people who are actually athletic. Hence why every season in the final we get people gassing out. 3- More brains: I don't mean simply casting people who have 4 year degrees I mean sitting down and finding someone who could actually hold a stimulating conversation. We need someone who could actually manipulate the game without the other players catching on, someone who you really don't like but want to see all their schemes go through.
Maybe they didn't want to promote Marie being stupid.
But promote Frank, Nany and Dustin being stupid? They could have feeded off of last weeks episode which did rather well.

I think not. People don't tune in to watch people who can hold stimulating conversations, they watch to see the fights. While the people on Vevmo might want different, that doesn't matter. BMP has to find a way to appeal to the masses because the people here are going to watch regardless. I can bet you this season would have done better ratings wise had MTV at least shown a couple reruns.
I think the source of the problem with this season was the cast even though I personally love all the rookies it is time to inject new blood onto the series but it's obviously not what all the fans want. So in a perfect world the cast for this season could of been or should of been. Team St. Thomas: Trey, Laura, Robb, & Marie Team San Diego: Frank, Zach, Ashley, & Sam. Team Cancun: CJ, Jonna, Derek, & Jasmine. Team New Orleans: Knight, Jemmye, Preston, & McKenzie. Team Las Vegas: Leroy, Cooke, Dustin, & Nany. Team Austin: Danny, Melinda, Johanna, & Wes. Team DC: Ty, Mike, Callie, & Emily. Team Key West: Johnny, Tyler, Paula, & Jannelle. I think with a cast like this ratings would be much better.

People tuned in that night because there wasn't much else on and the promo looked promising, after watching that mess they decided they could have sent their time on something else. That fight was a disappointment it was a drunken mess and a whole bunch of low blows. Regardless we can agree to disagree but what we can't ignore is that the ratings are horrible right now. Maybe its the cast, maybe its the format, or maybe its the advertising. The only thing that the show has going for it is that probably doesn't cost a lot of money to make so they may bring it back to save money.
