I honestly want Frank to come back. It would be great TV to see frank vs johnny or Ct vs Zach. And there is a next season Tyler got a call. And Frank might be going as well. (according to twitter)
yeah, i just read their conversation. It sounds like They both are going to be on the next one, if there is one. Honestly, for the next one, I'm calling it to be a vets vs rooks again, so something similar. This challenge almost seemed like a setup for that.
Nonsense. Zach and Frank were a great ratings disappointment for MTV. They didn't even provide good TV. As they began to dominate the early part of the season, the audience began to disappear as their favorite cast members were eliminated. San Diego came into the challenge with the lowest ratings since London and nothing they collectively or individually did made any difference in adding viewers throughout the season. Anyone who thinks the challenges are about winners is being delusional about how TV works. Villains must the people many in the audience love to hate. This is why Beth was so good for ratings for so long. No episode she was in pulled fewer than 2M across the demographics. Frank and Zach may have won the challenge, but they cost MTV an audience and the good will of advertisers who had expected so much more from this challenge.
I wasnt really talking about the ratings since this is not the ratings thread, but I was just talking about no matter what challenge BMP/MTV do next (if you take the poll as reference), Zach&Frank would fit in everyone perfectly since they are the self-proclaimed leader of the rookie revolution and you could foresee that. Because all the fans wants the veterans back.
And if BMP/MTV put those two guys with the fan favorites (JEK, CT, etc.) the ratings wont get worse.
I compare The Challenge often with Wrestling. In wrestling if the villains do a good job than everybody benefits from them. The fans, the good guys and the ratings. A villain does a good job when everybody wants him to get his **** stick up with boots. The casual viewer not the internet-fan since they prefer the bad guys anyway. This is exactly happening right now with Frank.
I dont think that you can compare the Beth situation with nowadays, because the entire franchise has lower ratings now and this is certainly not the only fault of Frank&Zach.
The only possible reason I can guess that Frank would be called is if Helen Keller was making the cast list. No one else would be foolish enough to cast him again. He's like krypotnite (sp?) to ratings.
I think the reason that Frank is going to be back on the next one is to be set up to be humiliated, just based on how he ran his mouth and constantly spoke of the "rookie revolution". He has to realize that every big dog vet guy probably has his name circled somewhere in red pen.
There's nothing wrong with casting him again imo, if Frank wasn't on BOTS the same results in ratings this season would occur or even worse. They need a balance between having the favorite vets, rookies/newbies.
Frank mixed with all the fan favorites would be fine people would watch knowing their favorites are there despite Frank being there also. If I'm a huge CT fan I'm not going to stop tuning in just because Frank is on it.
And gosh I feel like he's going to be the hot topic for months until we get some new news.
Highly doubt it
You think ratings would be higher regardless and with no vets on the show at all?
The cast as a whole was written off the second there were no noticeable members in the trailer or on the website. I've heard more "Who are these kids?" than "Why is Frank there?" before the show started.

After the first episode, the viewers would have warmed up to the cast. However, the first, second, and third episodes all had some sort of Frank drama and no one wanted to watch a Frank-season.

Hardcore fans are going to watch regardless of who is on the show. Casual fans don't go to the website and find out who is on the show. I think the fact that Austin left so early did hurt because besides Lacey it was the most recognizable team. Like I have stated before out of the 5 casual fans I know who watch the show, 3 quit watching because of Frank. Apply that to a larger scale and I think Frank does hurt ratings. Would Nate have saved the challenge? No. A terrible season with terrible ratings should not be the focus of a challenge. Logically it makes no sense.

I think BMP/MTV had no choice but to cast San Diego on this challenge. Zach said couple of times that he wanted to do the challenge and just because of that got casted on the real world. They wanted him to be like the new hero of the challenge (They had high hopes considering many fans wanted to see him in one) and they probably casted Frank as his enemy with him, because they thought that they will have trouble within this team and with this maximize the drama. But they ended their differences prior the challenge. I also think that Wes/Team Sydney should have been a big part of the challenge, because they had the most drama there, but you know the outcome. Fresh Meat was casted instead and got the spotlight for the first four episodes.
Who I'd like to see again: Dustin, Nany, Chet, CJ, Ashley, Sarah, Jonna, Marie, Jemmye
Indifference: JD, Robb, Devyn, Camilla, Cara Marie, Wes, Laura, Zach, Knight (if he gets in shape)
Who I don't want to see again: Derek, Alton, Trishelle, Trey, Preston, Big Easy, Sam, Frank, Jasmine, Laura, Mackenzie, Lacey, Melinda, Danny
Camilla and Cara Marie are two of the stronger, most competitive girls (which I appreciate), but their drunken drama (and tears) gets old. Devyn was very likable and I think she could do well if she trained ahead of time, and I'd like to see her prepared and committed. I think Laura is quite athletic and could do well. I wouldn't mind seeing her on a challenge without Trey. Similarly, I wouldn't mind seeing Zach, minus his stupid, unfunny comments, and more importantly, minus Frank.
Alton is clearly over challenges. Trey and Frank are athletic, but I think they're terrible human beings. I don't think I've disliked two people on their seasons as much as I disliked those two. I don't necessarily dislike anyone else on that list (okay, maybe Danny - he's annoying!), but the rest are not athletic and/or competitive. E.g., I like Mackenzie, but she's another pretty, ditzy blonde with very little athletic ability, and we really don't need another Casey.
Hopefully, many of these people were simply asked on this challenge to round off their season and won't be back.

The lack of vets was a huge problem but so was Frank
Austin leaving first was the worst thing that could have happened for ratings

Who I'd like to see again: Melinda, Brandon, Cara Maria, Camila, Chet, Sarah, Devyn, Dustin, Nany, CJ, Jasmine, Jonna, Knight, Jemmye, McKenzie Zach, Frank, Trey, Robb Laura, Marie
I obviously don't want to see every single one of these people right back on the next challenge, but I don't think all of their challenge days should be over.
Indifferent: Lacey, Trishelle, JD, Derek, Preston, Sam, Ashley
All of these people still can make a bigger mark on the challenges but I don't have an interest in any of them coming back.
Who I don't want to see again: Wes, Danny, Eric, Alton
I'm over all of these guys; I'm sick of Wes thinking that he's going to run every season when he never does. It's just repetitive with Wes every season and I don't find it interesting anymore; Same with Wes being the same every season, I don't think Danny is entertaining he does terribly on every challenge and he just needs to give up at this point; I used to be a fan of Eric but seeing him quit on Camila and disqualifying his team multiple times was just unfair for the rest of his team and made his reputation even worse. I'm no longer a fan, although it was wonderful seeing him destroy Wes; Agreed, Alton is over challenges and he was so obnoxious on this challenge.
If the next season is not The Duel 3 I'm going to be so mad.
I would love that. But I'm still thinking it will be rooks vs vets again. This season seemed to set that up.

I think that is the next best thing after The Duel 3. Since the BOTS rookie takeover I would love to see them against the vets, cause I think they could have a chance. If it is The Ruins 2 I think these would be the competitors without a win that COULD kick ***: Melinda?, Jenn, Kellyanne, Kimberly, Sarah, Chet, CJ, Jonna, Derek?, Ayiiia?, Emily (DC), Brandon, Laurel, Cara Maria, Theresa?, Ashlee (NO2, why hasn't she been casted on a challenge yet???), Dustin, Heather, Nany, Leroy, Marie, Laura, Robb?, Trey.
There could be a strong rookie cast made, but of course there would be weak links added to it :/

Melinda? Kick ***? What the hell are you smoking?
I always thought that if there's another Rook vs Vet cast then they should just title it "The Challenge: Rookies vs. Veterans" simple as that, it will grasp a lot of attention. Why not? They can set up any rule, the rules could be like the ruins and it wouldn't matter.
Melinda? Kick ***? What the hell are you smoking?
Melinda pulls her weight when it comes to challenges and I think she would be able to hang in a final challenge. But when it comes to elimination rounds that's were she doesn't do well. That would explain the question mark.
Rematches that I would love to see.
Derrick vs. Wes
Landon vs. Brad
Derrick vs. Tyler Part 3
Zach vs. CJ
Johnny vs. Tyler in something REAL and not a who weighs the most match vs. CT or lifting watermelons.
Derrick vs. Brad
Susie vs. Kim
Johnny vs. Dunbar
Elimination rounds I would love to see that I've never seen before.
Alton vs. Landon ( I love this match up if Alton brings it 100%)
CT vs. Kenny
CT vs. Zach
Emily vs. Laurel
Abram vs. Derrick (I love this match up, too)
Wes vs. CT (I'd love to see CT destroy him)
Frank vs. CT (I'd love to see CT destroy him)
Darrell vs. Wes
Johnny vs. Evan vs. Kenny (Any combination)
Ev ( I know she's probably not returning but still) vs. Laurel vs. Emily (Any combination)

Unless it involved climbing I think Landon would destroy Alton
Kenny would get destroyed by CT in probably everything. Kenny is great in finals but isn't someone that I'd ever bet on in a 1 on 1 elimination round

I disagree with the Landon destroying Alton..Alton is every bit as athletic as Landon is probably more so but Landon is definitely more physical though. They're about equal size as well. And I would love to see a wrestling type elimination with Kenny vs. CT..I don't why but I think it would be really good.
Here are the six guys I want to see in a Duel 3
Landon, CT, Wes (first champion), Evan (second champion), Darrell and Johnny
The rest doesnt really matter

And it's sad because I don't see any of these matches occurring. I don't' see people pulling big moves or these guys willing to risk going home against each other.
I also think it's time for another individual challenge while they have strong people available but I think they should change up the selections it got too repetitive on both seasons.

Wrestling would probably be one of the only areas where Kenny would have any inkling of an advantage. He's been wrestling and grappling for years.

Bull**** pulls her weight
Just watch the 2nd and 3rd missions on Cutthroat to see how bad she is.

And probably an endurance based elimination...few guys on the shows have the gas in the tank that Kenny has...probably only Landon and Tyler, maybe one or two others but based on Exes I wouldn't put CT in that category.
