Going by some people's comments it seems the best way to get viewers to tune in is to cast a bunch of people who will absolutely dislike each other and openly display. So I suggest. Hardcore stone cold republican, Bleeding heart liberal, White supremacist, Staunch extreme Black nationalist, Extremely shallow jock, incredibly isolated nerd. One average person. Profit
Ya Duhh! Thats what RW is, its supposed to be a social experiment, "what happens when you put 7 strangers, living in a house and work together, stop being nice and get real" or w/e the phrase is. They need to put polar opposites and see how they react, do they learn from each other? Do they become more accepting? Like what if they liberal and the republican became friends after? that would be cool.I think they tried that with San Diego but it didnt really work, they needed a real bible thumping southerner instead of Zach. Even like back in San Francisco, they had Pedro who was gay and had HIV which had a lot of stigma at the time, and they put him with Puck, who had the opposite personality . On RW Paris, they had CT who was messy and easily lost his temper with those other 2 chicks who were neat freaks and Ace who is very calm and shy, and Adam, who was this big nerd . On Austin they had Rachel who went on about her army nurse stuff with Nehemiah who was very anti war and those 2 went at it a lot, and they had Lacey who was kinda weird and different from the rest of them cause she was weirded out by Wes' 1 night stands and Melinda's skankynes and she didnt like to drink heavily. RW is boring if they put the same kind of people together, then they would get along and who wants to see that? Lately the show has been so boring like I dont even know what makes certain people special, before I could totally see why some people were on the show, now I just dont get it. Like *** is so special about Ashley from SD2, or Ana or that Baya girl from brooklyn. like not only are the ppl on this season boring, theyre just irritating, every time one of them talks I'm thinking ugg shut up, besides Jordan, he sometimes says some deep ****. When casting for Rw, I dont care if they had a ****ty upbringing, if it isnt going to make you different than the average person then they shouldnt be on the show, they should get a bunch of socially awkward people with some crazy republicans and add a gay guy with some loose cannons and a party animal
Exactly! That was the idea of the first 10 seasons - a guy who is homophobic living with someone gay, a small town country chick living with someone black.. THAT'S what the show is all about...the drama would be crazy but it would be real like in the old days.
Didn't everyone complain about SD2 being just that?
Didn't everyone complain about SD2 being just that?
Sd2 was nothing like that. Everyone excluding zashley was open to everything.
Didn't everyone complain about SD2 being just that?
Zach and Ashley were not vocal enough about their feelings and they were just plain boring, they were lying in bed reading books for many of the scenes like are you kidding? Reading is not even allowed on the challenge
Zach and Ashley were not vocal enough about their feelings and they were just plain boring, they were lying in bed reading books for many of the scenes like are you kidding? But when thats ALL you do..it's a problem.
Sd2 was nothing like that. Everyone excluding zashley was open to everything.
It was nothing like that? Er...I recall people saying that season focused too much on issues with homophobia. You said you wanted conflict between a gay castmember and a homophobe. It doesn't matter how "boring" you perceive them to be when BMP is too busy editing the **** out of that season into a PSA about sexuality, which is exactly what they did with SD2. My point is the people they choose to be cast on these shows should be a little bit more than stereotypical cartoon characters for the sake of drama. I prefer my characters to have a little bit of depth to them but those days are long past...

Yes, Zach was a homophob but Frank was an indiot. Even if Frank was straight, people would hate him. The drama I would like to see is between someone who is a "jesus freak" and someone homosexual. Zach was homophobic, yes, but the fact that Frank was such a ***** had a lot to do with it. Zach was against gays for the **** of it, and so was Ashley. They had no justifiable reasoning.. Although as a gay guy myself, I don't see any reason justifiable , even religion, for being homophobic. See Stephen vs Davis for example. That was good to watch. That was real, raw drama between to polar opposites.
Telling a mod to "chill out" Now there is a winning strategy!
Isn't that what the Real World was supposed to be. Obviously not that extreme, but it was about a very diverse group of people who live together, learn from one another and become more open in the process. That's what I remember it like when I first started watching the show, years ago.
Bag Girls Club on Tuesday night pulled 1,990,000 viewers, double the number for last week's RW Portland. If that isn't the definition of "pathetic," I don't know what is...

Profit
That's so overdone though. Personally I don't necessarily like watching people argue all the time. I already get my dose of meanless fights on BGC. A few arguments are expected any time strangers move in together, but evey episode, really? Think about the last season that had great ratings: Vegas 2. What I loved about Vegas is that they didn't go over the same issues as always. With the gay ****, std & pregnancy scare, daddy issues, bipolar disorder, etc. Regular people going through personal things. It was more interesting because it wasn't necessarily people yelling at each other all the time. This season and last season, everything is related to them being in the house, if that makes sense. Except for Nia's book, which isn't that interesting imo, and Marlon's gay past, which they haven't brought up again.
With Dustin storyline during LV2, that card has been played. Marlon's storyline is like day-old fast food and the audience is not hung over or high enough to be that hungry.

You want two roommates who are on the extreme far opposite sides of the spectrum rather than normal every day Joe's who happen to fit the bill. And it sounds great on paper but the type of drama you're asking for seems like it would turn viewers away from the show even more. I think the Stephen vs Davis storyline is the best you're going to get before BMP starts going overboard with the fights to the point where viewers just feel plain uncomfortable watching them. The focus of the conflict should be to explore them (hopefully with some kind of resolution), rather than having it for the sake of ratings and drama. That's when the show loses its charm.

So how about that Heat vs Pacers game
Ratings for May 22: 806,000 viewers 0.5 share
And as an FYI, to date: Episode 1: ?? (720,000) Episode 2: 0.6 (959,000) Episode 3: 0.6 (990,000) Episode 4: 0.7 (1,150,000) Episode 5: 0.6 (890,000) Episode 6: 0.7 (1,024,000) Episode 7: 0.6 (900,000) Episode 8: 0.5 (910,000) Episode 9: 0.5 (850,000) Why the sharebefore viewer count? It's the share number that matters for advertisers.
The episodes centered around Nia actually increased ratings..hmm looks like this season as a whole has been blahh
The episodes centered around Nia actually increased ratings..hmm looks like this season as a whole has been blahh
Really? I think it's been a great season and if it came after LV2, it would get the ratings it deserves. The only problem I have with it is that the early episodes were repetitive and had too much Jordan.
Yes this was a **** good season. There is just hype with LV 2 though, I don't understand that or why.

Can we not edit our own posts? LOL. Anyways, my list should read 806,000 at the bottom, NOT 850,000.
Not that pathetic. People just don't know what too watch plus the show is challenge-esque now.
The show is averaging under a million viewers, that's pretty pathetic tbh. I'm just grateful MTV is gonna give the show another season because most shows don't get renewed with ratings like this.
Can we not edit our own posts? LOL. Anyways, my list should read 806,000 at the bottom, NOT 850,000.
5 minutes or some **** like that.
The reason I'm not enjoying the season is because I was expecting so much more. BMP and MTV really messed up with the promotion, if your going to promote a season like its a gift from god then it better be signature signed. The trailer showed every single bit of drama for the whole season, so there is no excitement in how the storylines will develop because we all know the ending. In fact I think ive just been waiting all season to see this ending, and no doubt it won't live up to my expectations. I'd rate this season just above San Diego, in terms of how enjoyable it is to watch, maybe under different circumstance it would have been higher.

It is what it is and advertisers will not moved by your argument. It's all about the ratings earned, not the one you may wish there were.

I would really like to know three MTV shows the get higher ratings? Nothing gets the ratings they use to with all the options and competition available now. Plus most people I know DVR, watch On Demand, or online. Nielsen ratings are unreliable and skewed. I don't know anyone who is polled by Nielsen. Ratings obviously play a factor but I am sure quite a number of other things are taken into account as well. I don't get why people come here to be negative about the show and ratings, if you don't enjoy the show why even post here?
