I still have no clue why MTV couldn't just push Real World to 9 PM and have The Challenge at 10 PM. I feel like it would be slightly over a million if it was at 10.

For some reason they don't like airing shows at 9 PM...I am happy with those ratings , especially since Eye Candy did way worse than MTV expected on the pilot. I feel like airing real world before Eye Candy on Monday was such a mistake on MTV, it did more harm than good.

I agree, it definitely killed the momentum. Hopefully it picks up next week.
So the aftershows this season will air at 12am. Do they really expect people to watch those that late?
Lol probably not but the aftershows never do that great anyways. So I don't know why they are even doing it. Save the drama for the reunion and make it 2 parts if there is enough. Case solved.
And yayyyy the ratings went up! It'll definitely get over a million next week. From there I think it'll hold strong and get ratings along the lines of Free Agents.
So Challenge 27 is coming! And hopefully filming starts this summer and airs this fall in like October or November.
And Eye Candy must of done bad as expected. It wasn't even on the list for Monday. And Real World either.

Real World had 2 weeks increasing and then someone on MTV came with the bright idea of airing it on a special time Monday with little promotion before Eye Candy. That absolutely kill the momentum and did more harm.
Is it bad that I think it's funny they promoted the **** out of Eye Candy , it still did worse than both real world/Challenge
Eye candy flopped exactly how I thought it was going to too ****. Idk why some had high expectations. The editing in the trailers they showed was > the storyline and cast combined.

Because of the amount of promotion they did for it: Trailer Different channels, even promotion during the Golden Globes, radio stations, banners around malls and the promotion on social networks.

I think it's pretty funny. A lot of MTV viewers seem to forget that The Challenge exists (when you see people list shows from MTV, they never include it for some reason), so this show doing the best so far with a small fraction of promotion compared to Eye Candy is funny to me lol. And it puts a diabolical smile on my face.
I didn't watch Eye Candy anyways, so I don't know what that show is like. But it almost felt like I watched it because of how much promotion I saw.
Susanne Daniels would do better trying to incorporate music back on the channel in some fashion. The "M" hasn't stood for anything for awhile now.
Or build your network around the shows that started it all: Real World, Road Rules, The Challenge, & True Life. Add the music shows, bring back Daria & some other animated shows, etc.

What a waste lol, could of used this season of the challenge instead.
I think instead of Aftershows what if they did like Live MTV.com interviews with the eliminated team each week.
This is what they do on CBS.com for Survivor and Big Brother. They have the eliminated person the next day sit down for a live interview and basically take fan questions from Twitter and Facebook. The host will even ask them some questions, play little games and what not. MTV does most of the challenge promoting through social media so this would be a great way to keep things interesting and kinda promote the show. They would get thousands of questions too! Plus it leaves drama for the reunion and really gives teams the chance to tell their side of the story without being interrupted.
The host should be a past cast member. Jeff does the BB one and Pavarti does the Survivor one. I think Susie Miester or Johanna Botta could be good host. They have hosting experience so things won't be awkward and it's live too! Maybe even Kenny Santucci although he sucks. But he is funny. So he would bring that. And maybe a guy in the hosting position would be better. He would make cast members feel at ease because many of them love Kenny. I just think this would be a better way to go. They promote it at the last commercial of each episode. And you know the cast members will too. So people would tune in or even go back later and watch it. Just a thought!

Not only did Eye Candy got beat by the challenge, but by the same episode of Real World Airing on both Monday and Tuesday
Battle of The Exes 2- 907k total viewers (18-49 demographic 0.55)
Real World Skeletons (Monday)- 812k total viewers (18-49 demographic - 0.32)
Real World Skeletons (tuesday Re-run)- 659k total viewers (18-49 demographic- 0.35)
Eye Candy- 589k total viewers ( 18-49 demographic 0.24)
That's karma for MTV! they treat this shows like **** and still did better than a show that they promoted that **** out of it

How tragic, and that really is karma. Hopefully this is good news for (most importantly) The Challenge and the RW.

Agreed. I am mad Brian got killed off in episode one no less. Wow...Mtv, really now?

Can we add the rating from Monday and the Re-Run together? That's 1.471 m for the Real World Skeletons :D:D:D
I have now no doubt in my mind that both the Real World and The Challenge will continue ....
So Eye Candy flopped? LOL that's halarious. They don't do anything for The Real World/Challenges yet both shows beat out a show that they promoted the **** out of. Karma is a ***** and she's smiling down.
Hopefully this means they start to actually give a **** about The Real World/Challenges now. It's been their consistent flagship series for so long. I don't get why they treat it the way they do. As long as The franchise has been on tv MANY MTV shows have came and went..But The Real World/Challenge always remained. It's still probably one of the few things people still watch on MTV now so I don't get why they don't try to build the franchise up a little.

I just wish they would start showing marathon of The Challenge. That would help ratings as well. Like when this challenge ends they need to do a marathon of The Challenge and The Real World once a month. Not nessecarily show the whole season in one day. You know break it up into 2 or 3 days. It'll keep the show in peoples mind and build fans.
No, tvbythenumbers has just been behind recently. If that's what you mean.
CHALLENGE: BATTLE OF EX 2 MTV 11:00 PM 0.907 0.6

Wow, I'm actually impressed. It grew from last week with a repeat as a lead-in. I can't wait to see it get over a million. Challenge 27, here we go!
I still have no clue why MTV couldn't just push Real World to 9 PM and have The Challenge at 10 PM. I feel like it would be slightly over a million if it was at 10.
It's definitely going to grow next week but for a sad reason unfortunately. People definitely want to tune in to see Diem's final episode
So the aftershows this season will air at 12am. Do they really expect people to watch those that late?

Most probably, people will want to see Diem for a last time, even if it is in that circumstances.
AFtershows always do horrible lol I like them, but for some reason people don't tune in...I don't know why they even do them for TV.
I agree, it definitely killed the momentum. Hopefully it picks up next week.
The should just do those online, it's not like anybody watches them (well except for me).
