I had presumed that Jannelle was going to hold Darrell back and it would come down to "who had the best girl in the final." I didn't anticipate it being literally "MJ and Jonna won the equivalent of a ****** daily challenge"

I didn't like the format of this final. Biking and all those laps in the scorching heat and math at the end? Only on War of the Worlds 1 was that fun to watch. Leave that phase 1 stuff for the main challenges.

Congrats to MJ & Jonna, super happy Jonna got her first win. I'm a little salty that phase 1's performance didn't matter in phase 2 because Melly Mel killed it. I'm super impressed with her, she went from really average competitor to running a final while injured and still getting 1st on that injury during the first portion which obviously took them hours to complete.

I feel like winning the first phase should've given like maybe a minute or something head start for Mel/Nehemiah but overall, I think the final format was fine. I'm usually mixed on finals that have breaks in between and usually prefer the ones where it's a race all the way to the end, but overall -- I was fine with it and I genuinely believe MJ/Jonna earned it. Super happy for Jonna because she deserved it after having to suffer through having Zach as a partner.
I'm also super proud of Janelle and Melinda the most tho for powering through the final despite their injuries.
I found the first phase of the final fun to watch--I like when they have different checkpoints that can done in whatever order. But the last part-wtf?! Reminded of the SLA final in that you have done horrible the whole time as long as you got the last thing done faster. Also didnt need the vaults, it was dumb. I was happy that Jonna got her win though.
I heard on a podcast that part of the reason SLA final was so lame was because of Fessy- they couldnt do an eating portion during Ramaden (was it even going on still by the time the final was filmed?) and they have to create the final before the show starts and cant change it so it was geared towards if Fessy was there. Is this true??? I dont think the creating the final beforehand thing is true for this show-probably other competition shows but isnt this one legally defined as a reality show not a game show so production can change things? Its just wild to me how much more difficult this All Stars final was compared to season 37s walk in the park.
