I still think everyone that didn't win the challenge should be in the draw
I wholeheartedly agree. If you lose, pay the price. There is plenty of room on the The Draw tables to fit cards for all of the losers, so they can't use that as an excuse.
Is it just me or is this season just plain boring? Nothing memorable yet from a challenge perspective and the drama is just dull and meaningless.

It's not just you. this season is already unbelievably boring to me. I can't really pin point why because it has all the makings for a great show. IDK, but I was so excited for Rivals 2 it wasn't even funny. Every week I was just dying to watch. This one just seems so blah.

I still think everyone that didn't win the challenge should be in the draw
It should be like that but then thats so many people drawing cards for only one person to draw a kill card. It would take forever. The way it is now is okay but the editing is bad and I wish they would show more people having meetings with the nominated contestants like on Exes and Seasons and there was more politics because you know people have alliances. I think the Draw could only work in an Exes 2 like the 2nd mission format but all this changing teams and they are last place band wagon voting is just bad.
Well being a lover of The Challenges, I've actually been enjoying this season. It has a different vibe and even though it isn't just drama overload there is something refreshing about it to me. I like the draw and have been thoroughly entertained.
I have been as well. Obviously it is not a flawless season, but I've really no reason to complain. The eliminations have been great and I'm a huge fan of The Draw as well.
It should be like that but then thats so many people drawing cards for only one person to draw a kill card. It would take forever.
How would it take forever? They could just edit in one-second clips of people flipping over blank cards.
How would it take forever? They could just edit in one-second clips of people flipping over blank cards.
Or everyone could walk up there at one time and simultaneously flip over their cards.
I think they should all flip the cards at once, sure that's not as dramatic but it would be faster
I think they should all flip the cards at once, sure that's not as dramatic but it would be faster
It would but I doubt BMP would edit it right. So it would still be bad. There are many flaws this season for sure.
I've actually loved this season, and i've been way more invested in it than Rivals II. O_O. The eliminations are intense and the challenges have been refreshing. And somoene brung up they miss the politicing? Didn't you watch the last 3 episodes? It's still going on.. and to me it's better to watch it this season because it's not the same people controlling the vote, each week we see someone new in power. I liked how we got to see Camilla talking to both Toya and Nia. Sorry to be off topic though this is the ratings thread!
but how is spongebob beating the challenge...... and in the 18-27 group...
Cus Spongebob was the ****.
getting better!!
No... Getting better would be a jump back to the first week or something a little higher not just a handful of people.
No... Getting better would be a jump back to the first week or something a little higher not just a handful of people.
I decide to compare this ratings with other MTV shows that are airing right now, I didn't know MTV was doing so bad rating wise in all of their shows (The highest rated shows ON mtv right now are pulling the same Number that Battle of the seasons 2 did): House of Food didn't even made the list and whatever is airing on Wednesday didn't made the list either. Free Agents is doing similar to awkward in 18-49 demographic or at least it did this week. Faking it didn't do that great in the season premiered and 16 pregnant are not pulling the same ratings as it used to. Comparing it with this ratings is not as bad as we though because MTV is not doing as good as last year or even as January.
...I'm at a loss for words. There is nothing to be proud about; FFS, we can't even pass Portland numbers: 1: ??? (720) 2: 0.6 (959) 3: 0.6 (990) Sure, we easily beat the first episode, but still; not proud numbers at all...
None of MTV shows airing right now are even making it to the 1.3 mark ^^^^^ It's not just a challenge problem, the Network overall is not doing that good rating wise.
Yes, I saw your previous post... This sucks. Why can't MTV be good with anything right now!
None of MTV shows airing right now are even making it to the 1.3 mark ^^^^^ It's not just a challenge problem, the Network overall is not doing that good rating wise.
Even though the network is having low ratings, The Challenge was still the lowest of the 3 shows you posted right now. So that's not a valid excuse. Now the playoffs being on and Thursday being a busy night in primetime yes but Wednesday might have been a busy night for cable but it still worked!
Even though the network is having low ratings, The Challenge was still the lowest of the 3 shows you posted right now. So that's not a valid excuse. Now the playoffs being on and Thursday being a busy night in primetime yes but Wednesday might have been a busy night for cable but it still worked!
But is not the lowest by much, it's not like battle of the seasons 2 that Teen mom was pulling 2.8-3.5 and Buckwild was pulling 3.0 while the challenge was pulling 1.2 that was a problem over just one show. Right now! The challenge is pulling 0.9 while the highest rated show is pulling 1.2 that's not a huge difference. Also, you need to take to consideration that The challenge is airing on what's consider that busiest night on television (Thursday, Google it if you don't believed me) While the other 3 shows are airing on Monday/Tuesday. Which in my opinion they should have changed to one of those nights or just keep it on Wednesday. Plus I am not stating an excuse, I am stating a fact that's is backup with ratings for every other show. MTV as a network is doing bad rating wise right now, it's not pulling the same ratings as a year ago.
Do ratings count the total amount of each individual tv's/homes that turned to the channel and that's how they come up with the number? or The average amount of viewers that watched during the episode? If so, maybe the aftershows could be hurting it because people don't care to watch them and end up flipping the channel in the last 30 minutes which is still technically apart of the episode.

Is it different this season?

Oh okay nevermind then. I thought they were connected together because on my TV guide it's an entire 1 1/2 hour episode instead of a 1 hour episode, and then a 30 minute aftershow. Okay well my theory goes out the window!
Does this season's ratings really matter that much, though? I remember reading someone say that there is definitely a season 26.
Do ratings count the total amount of each individual tv's/homes that turned to the channel and that's how they come up with the number?
Nielson ratings are highly inaccurate. Out of the hundreds of millions of TV owners in America, a small group are randomly chosen to represent the rest of America. They have a meter installed in their home to gather data on what and when they watch. Nielson then takes that data and makes an estimate of how many people are watching the show.
We need to send the Nielson ratings box owners into the draw.
Does this season's ratings really matter that much, though? I remember reading someone say that there is definitely a season 26.
I mean it does because it ultimately helps them decide what direction they should go in next season and with this challenge not doing well that direction will probably be a theme and probably partners again because it works. Thats why a lot of us are saying next season will be an Exes 2. I thought I heard that at first this challenge was gonna be an Exes 2 but they changed it to individual. I think they just did individual because many cast members and fans wanted it but more so a Duel 3 than Free Agents but its still individual. Also, I think maybe they wanted to save the Ex-Plosion exes for an Exes 2, which is smart imo. Also, they were in contract for another season so I have read on here.
Does this season's ratings really matter that much, though? I remember reading someone say that there is definitely a season 26.
There is planning underway for season 26. That does not mean there is a go ahead from MTV or that a "check" was provided to pay for it. There is a multi-month planning process that includes table-topping possible elimination events, then the engineering drawings, location scouting, contacts for logistics support, etc. Essentially, it's a very cheap version of the planning documented for Survivor, that has been detailed by Jeff Probst in a number of interviews.
Nielson ratings are highly inaccurate. Nielson then takes that data and makes an estimate of how many people are watching the show.
Inaccurate or not, it is the industry standard. It really matters not what any viewer thinks about the series, decisions are made by senior executives based on the existing ratings, because they can't whine to the boards of directors about the Nielson's being S&*^. All the board cares about is making money, which means making advertisers happy so they fork over the $$$$. Yes, perhaps in the longer term, they would be happier with a better rating system, but MTV is all too happy to send out a press release when they do well, particularly in the 13-24 demo. Yea, these ratings suck, and can not be what Susanne Daniels had demanded. She got the results she wanted for RW, but so far Free Agents is a ratings bust. I can guarantee she won't accept the excuse, "But the Nielson's are so fu*%^$ up!" Given the overall state of ratings at MTV, she must be considering a network house cleaning of those execs with bloated salaries and no great results since Jersey Shore.
Survivor is one **** of a show to be around as long as it has and to still be doing decent! I give them their props. The Challenge will get it together though. They changed things up and just didn't pan out the way they expected. Its still early in the season though. Its really just the editing though. And promotion.... and the format is a little all over the place...
