Does anyone think that ratings might go up if there were NO spoilers? or they were harder to get? Like say if they sequestered the eliminated contestants in a house w no social media so no one knew when they got eliminated based on when they arrived home/started tweeting?
The people who like the show enough to seek out spoilers, are the people who are committed to watching it live every week, imo.
A Duel 3 would NOT fail with the right promotion and the right cast members. Duel 1 and 2 were successful and were years apart. A lot of old viewers would definitely tune in if people like Mark Long and Darrell came back and then you have the current cast members and then the explosion kids for the new viewers.
They'd really have to stack the cast for a Duel 3 to work, but I think it would work. The difference between Duels and this Free Agents concept is that there's a lot more social politicking that can be done in the Duel as opposed to Free Agents where the competition really decides the winners and losers. That usually increases the drama. Thus far, Free Agents has been quite timid on the drama to build around a rivalry or concept around. But we're starting to see the rivalries between Jordan/Johnny and Laural/Aneesa which could lead to something.

A jordan/laurel rivals team would be great.
A jordan/laurel rivals team would be great.
You mean Exes--they sure as **** aren't Rivals And I hate Jordan so I hope he's paired with someone awful
You mean Exes--they sure as **** aren't Rivals And I hate Jordan so I hope he's paired with someone awful
Riight Rivals. Who does Jordan have issues with though? They're mainly the big dogs, like Johnny (thati know of so far)
Riight Rivals. Who does Jordan have issues with though? They're mainly the big dogs, like Johnny (thati know of so far)
Jordan/Johnny Jordan/Frank (from Rivals 2) Jordan/Jessica (if they decided to co-ed the next Rivals)
I thought jordan and jess were cool? The only issues I saw was from the first challenge, sofar i haven't seen them interact much
Riight Rivals. Who does Jordan have issues with though? They're mainly the big dogs, like Johnny (thati know of so far)
Let's see how the season plays out...we know Bananas and Jordan hate each other. I'm sure more will. He's intolerable.
I thought jordan and jess were cool? The only issues I saw was from the first challenge, sofar i haven't seen them interact much
on the little preview for next episdoe jess is screaming at his face
I loved the Ex-Plosion cast and that season. Personally the more the merrier imo. If its an Exes 2 I see them honestly casting Cory/Lauren, Jenny/Brain, Thomas/Hailey, and Jay/Jenna simply because they all have pretty interesting relationships except Cory and Lauren but they have to have Cory and their story could intrigue viewers who didn't watch Ex-Plosion because I know BMP would mention it. I use to not think they would cast Jay and Jenna but they made themselves more available once the broke up and Jenna got fiesty on the reuinon and Jay's true colors came out. It would be worth the watch.
That's way too many and you'll see rating worse than this season or Seasons 2 couple is great and 3 is tolerable but probably too many but 4 is a disaster waiting to happen
Not really because last time I check Ex-Plosion ratings were better than Seasons and Free Agents. I could understand your point if the ratings were low but they weren't and the Ex-Plosion cast has grew a pretty big fan base. The only people who hate them are you guys on Vevmo which is not surprising...
The promotion is terrible this season which is a huge shame because this new format is great. Also why don't they ever replay the challenge? People probably don't even know that it is on since they never replay it and it is on Thursdays...They replay teen mom all the time but never replay the challenge. The challenge is IMO the best show on MTV. I just don't see how the ratings suck this bad.
It would alienate the "challenge viewers" just like Seasons
Sad thing is that season was doing better than this season lol
It would alienate the "challenge viewers" just like Seasons
How? Seasons had a cast full of rookies. Next challenge they're probably going to get either 4 or 6 of them. That's not a whole lot in a cast of what 28-30 people. Ex-plosion got alot of people watching RW again. They're going to put as many of them on as they can regardless of the format.

The only people who hate them are you guys on Vevmo which is not surprising...
The fan base of Real World and Challenges is not the same as the challenges. If not Seasons would have done better Austin (Ratings x 10 times better than Explosion), Brooklyn ( Way better rating wise than Explosion), Cancun (Same as Brooklyn), New Orleans 2 (Better ratings than explosion and it went up every single episode, Explosion went up and then down on the last episodes), and Vegas 2 (Lowest rated episode was equal the highest rated episode of Explosion, Best rated season since Hollywood). Explosion was the best average rated season since Vegas 2, but the ratings were not amazing either it did descent and better than last 3 seasons. I don't hate explosion Cast members for the exception of Jamie. I want to see them again. I do see 4-6 being on the next challenge (They are going to have huge targets on their back like Austin on Fresh Meat) and I really don't mind it. I still think they should have waited a week or 2 waited for explosion to wrapped get cast members from that season get test done to go film the challenge. Brian/Cory/Jenny and which ever they wanted. Replaced Chet/Preston with Cory/Brian and Jasmine/Jemmye with Jenny and whoever. To used the attention those cast members were getting right after their season. Does anyone else thinks that the change of night was pointless and bad timing? Yes, Wednesday night has been a challenging time slot in the past with competition from shows like Duck Dynasty and South Park. However, those shows are between seasons now, so Wednesdays would have worked pretty well. Plus, it's not like they are airing another show on wednesday.I wish MTV would air a rerun of The Challenge in Wednesday at 10 since nothing is currently airing at that time. Are they even airing any reruns?

I feel like she would bring a lot of fresh drama and new story lines to the challenge. I am still surprised they went with jess over having her on thesame house with Nia and her x.

Exes is probably on 26 people...8 from a brand new cast is nearly a third of the cast--too many
4 is perfect, 6 is tolerable...8 is too many...same problem with Seasons...and you'll likely have a couple other first timers. Exes is probably on 26 people...8 from a brand new cast is nearly a third of the cast--too many
It would be 28- 14 teams that was the original plan for the first one. My thing is if you look at potential Exes teams they will be primarily new school with a few old IF they will do it. So why not get the best group of new people possible that would attract viewers. I think 8 is okay for an Exes theme because the show was about Exes but for anything else no, 4 to 6 is fine.

I do agree 4 pairs from the same season is to many, but then again they would get the Austin treatment on Fresh meat. Also, keep in mind they were going to have Naomi/Leroy, Heather/Dustin, nany/Adam and even Mike Mike got a call to be an alternative probably for Paula that he decline.

If they make that mistake we'll see the results. 6 is the max. Any more and ratings will be awful. Personally, I won't watch with 4 pairs from the same seasons

Also, Exes had 4 rookie teams, 3 from Las Vegas (if Adam & Nany would have come) and 1 from San Diego. To me its no different if they had 4 Ex-Plosion and then Johnny and Averey. To me thats not bad but really entertaining just thinking about it. Thats 10 rookies which is the average amount they've been having these past 2 seasons. Oh, then add Nia if they give her Jordan. 11 out of 28 with that kind of theme is not bad. Anything else no.
Again, 8 is too many. If they make that mistake we'll see the results. 6 is the max. Any more and ratings will be awful. I will be fined with 3 especially since they are coming from a season that they feed us their relationship to our throats. It would be too repetitive to have 4 pairs since we have already seen their dynamics as exes.

I'd be done with the show if they go to 4 from Explosion. I don't want to see another pair mission but if they do that they're intentionally trying to **** off their loyal, long-time fans.

At the end of the day you can't please everyone so you just gotta do what you wanna do because people will always be upset. Thats tv for you!

I'd rather have 6 explosion kids (3 guys 3 girls) than Chet, Brandon, Preston, Jemmye, Jasmine and Aneesa on another challenge. As long as we get Cory and Thomas on the next challenge I don't care who the rest of the Explosion kids are, they're all equal imo.
