I mean it looked like Chet and Nia both picked there teams. It doesn't look like anyone was in there heads just from the order of things.
I'm not sure how that can be gathered just from watching...it's edited to look that way on Cutthroat too yet somehow all of Brad/Tori's friends ended up on Red. All it shows is them saying names. You really think that Nia picked loudmouths like Jordan, Laurel, CT, Bananas, etc and they at no point gave their opinions on future picks? Or that Frank, Camila, or Zach never said anything to Chet? Personally, if I were Nia I'd WANT them to tell me who to pick since she hasn't done a challenge with any of them and doesn't know an unedited version of what they can do.
The show has come a long way but a large percentage of these people are not athletes. If they do consider the challenge a sport, then I actually feel sorry for them because the top tier athletes on the show don't even make 2 percent of what top athletes in other sports make.
You gotta start somewhere.
Anyways the first 30 mins of this challenge has been way more entertaining than both the Rivals 2 and BOTS2 premieres imo. Hopefully they do another individualish format for the next one or a big team challenge. The cast seems to really be enjoying the format.

I think another individualish challenge like Free Agents but without The Drawing for opponents thing since I don't think many people will like that.
Obviously, they are not going to show Jordan/Johnny B/Laurel helping Nia picked like they didn't show Dunbar/Brad/Paula helping Camila picked on Cutthroat and the same goes to Emilee being guided by bananas.
Its editing buddy, The black team for the exception of jazz/Preston/Devyn look better than the Red team

I think on paper black looks better and if those were the teams for the whole challenge I'd rather have them...but if you look at the events of this challenge I would've picked red to win each of them based on who they put where.
It looks like Red smoked the run and if I had to bet on one of the sets of four in the puzzle I would've taken a team with Jonna/Chet over the other one. Then for the heights thing I think the guys net out but Red has the only girl who I would've bet could do it (Camila)...fortunately Jessica proved me wrong.

Chet is stubborn he wasn't letting anyone else move the puzzles pieces the way way they wanted, until Emilee finally speak up.
They were ahead on getting to the top of the building part.

Chet was pretty much useless there. He was taking charge of the puzzle but was not making any progress and all you hear him is complaining. It's like just shut up and figure it out.

Well...do you really believe Nia/Jordan and Laurel would let Bananas say something when CT is already there. What really surprised me was Leroy being picked so late....
Nevertheless, I think the teams were pretty even and to me this just proves the point that for a next team challenge, you should never let the producers form the teams.
Wow, loved the preview. I really liked how we saw them arrive at the airport and some of the castmembers got to mention what they've been up to, etc. I almost forgot Emilee was even on this season. That challenge was great, it was very Survivor-esque. Idk how to feel about Johnny's chokehold on Cara. Oh and love how Camila KILLED the heights portion of the mission.
Black Team had Laurel, CT, Jordan, Bananas and Nia; if these were the teams throughout the whole challenge I'd put my chips on Black regardless on who's on the other team.

Nia is not as great, I will pick others before her.
lol with jessica making across and celebrating like she won the whole challenge.
Between that and lifting Anastasia up for approximately six seconds I'd say she's probably the next Laurel. Maybe even Evelyn.
If patting yourself on the back, giving yourself nicknames, and making things that aren't that hard seem impossible, means being good on the challenge, she's the best. Jess i mean

You are talking about princess hulk here, evelyn, laurel and emily don't stand a chance against her.

Ha. I feel bad...sure she's annoying, but I don't dislike her the way some people on here do. She's just one of those people on the show who's easy to pick on.
Any way to watch the preview if you can't access it on the app? I have Charter and Charter isn't one of the supported companies :(
I didn't get to see the 35 minute sneak peek where the teams were picked but I did get to see the 16 minute sneak peek of them arriving at the first challenge and I will say that the vibe this season has is unlike any other. I really like it. The house looks awesome, the cast interacts very well with each other, and I think this format is awesome.
Does anyone have the link for the 35 minute sneak peek?
Its only available through the mtv app. If you have a smartphone you can get there.
Okay, so I watched the first 16 minutes of the episode and I honestly think it's been fantastic thus far. Obviously I haven't seen the entire episode or even the first 35 minutes like some of you have so I can't make *AS* accurate of a judgment as you guys, but I feel like The Challenge is kinda getting back to its roots. I can't remember the last time they did the whole "People getting to the Challenge thing". I guess Cutthroat perhaps when they all had to race to the Gulag but that wasn't even really them arriving at the airport. They also brought back the whole "Clue from TJ" thing which they somewhat utilized last year but only two times I think.
Character development on the premiere is already far superior than that of Rivals 2. After glancing at the cast list, the only people that didn't really get mentioned/have a confessional were Brandon and Preston. Brandon kinda spoke in that little scene with Leroy where they were picking a room. Cohutta didn't have a confessional either if I remember correctly but he did get mentioned by Nany.

In the 35 min special you see cohutta compete in the solo mission and has a couple of confessionals. Preston has at least one confessional.

But that's fantastic that they're including everyone.

The "clue from TJ" has been in every challenge with the exception on The Island and The Duel 2, I believe. I remember every episode from Seasons and Rivals II had a clue. But I agree with you, the first 16 minutes were suberb. I love the feel of this season already.

I believe they did the whole airport thing because it's an individual challenge. On Rivals II and Seasons, you were selected for certain team and the viewer gets to know who was on the season, unlike this season.
