You don't think attacking another persons disease is a ***** move??
Not when that person is going around bullying someone and thinking they're a hard ***.
You don't think attacking another persons disease is a ***** move??
I do think its a ***** move but I also feel that at times when you get into an argument with someone you go for the low blows, which is what Laurel did and to me that's understandable. Unlike another cast member who went on a video chat, long after any argument, and choose to bring up a fellow cast member's alleged illness.
Not when that person is going around bullying someone and thinking they're a hard ***.
So if a cancer patient says, "I don't like you".. You're ok with saying, "Nice wig... Chemo boy"? I dont understand how some of you are not seeing the inequity here.
So if a cancer patient says, "I don't like you".. You're ok with saying, "Nice wig... Chemo boy"? I dont understand how some of you are not seeing the inequity here.
Sorry dont try and use another extreme example, use the one at hand.
Laurel took it too far. But how they not know that Cara Maria being constantly ganged upon and picked on didn't hurt as much as Paula hearing that she's anorexic or old? You can't determine that. It's interesting people who have the mob mentality are usually insecure and then when the tables get turned on them, they can't handle it. Maybe they need to learn something.

You're insane to compare anorexia in the past to a cancer patient. I've had people make fun of me for my past eating disorders completely unwarranted.. it's not similar. Paula was bullying Cara for days including while she was crying her eyes out, she just kept going. Everyone knows Laurel digs to your deepest core to hurt you so why even say anything if you don't expect it?
I don't feel sorry for Paula, one bit. What happened to her was karma. It doesn't matter if Laurel took it too far or responded with an even lower blow than Paula did, either way, right is right, wrong is wrong. They were both wrong, but Paula caused it on herself and if she would have shut her mouth, I doubt Laurel would have said to her what she did.
Sorry dont try and use another extreme example, use the one at hand.
What Insider said actually makes a lot of sense. Not a lot of people understand the illness of eating disorders and how serious they are.

Clearly my comparison was that of two diseases. One may be psychological... but it's still a disease. Obviously most diseases are extremely different from each other. I wasn't implying that the diseases carry the same symptoms or affect on the person. I was purely pointing out that both are savage, life threatening diseases. Neither is a good choice for ammunition in an argument... unless of course you are cold and without class.
This is in no way a defense of Paula since I don't really like her either. I do think Laurel's verbal barrage was probably over the top, but I can't find it in myself to really sympathize for Paula.
As for Laurel, I actually know someone very similar to her. She's the type of person that when angry, goes for the jugular. She doesn't just argue or debate the situation, she attacks you where it hurts the most. She may later realize that what she said was wrong and probably even regret it, but that will always be her personality. Much like CT's aggressive persona, it's these qualities that will alienate them from other people.
That being said, I hope she learns to tone it down. She's young now, so maybe it hasn't fully registered to her how damaging her words can be.
Laurel's argument is don't **** off the guy who has the gun.
Paula's argument is don't carry the gun in the first place.
No matter what, the debate's not gonna go anywhere and the only thing that can be proven is that you can kill someone with a gun. Hence how Laurel will look bad no matter what happens.
Sorry dont try and use another extreme example, use the one at hand.
I seem to be missing your point. If you mean for me to stick to what Laurel actually said to Paula.. that is not an example for comparison. It is exactly what she said. A disease is a disease. They are off limits.
Loved, loved LOVED seeing Paula get her *** handed to her. That was the first time I have ever liked Laurel. I think she should have kept going till Paula jumped out the window.
Wes is a complete moron. How do you pick on Cara Maria? She's like a little mouse. What does that even accomplish.
I hope to God that CT destroys Tyler & Johnny next week. I am really sick of hearing & seeing both of them.
Really enjoyed seeing Mike & Leroy win!
So if a cancer patient says, "I don't like you".. You're ok with saying, "Nice wig... Chemo boy"? I dont understand how some of you are not seeing the inequity here.
But thats not what happened...Cara Maria has been picked on for days in that house, being beaten down and beaten down, nobody likes you, you're a piece of ****, you're annoying, after a while esp. for someone like Cara Maria it's gonna break you, and I guarantee you that was their gameplan, "let's break down Cara Maria, so that we have a better shot at winning." The same thing they are about to do to Adam.
So Laurel being Laurel went over the top, there is only so much you can hold yourself back when you see your friend/partner crying over and over and over again.

No it doesn't when it comes to this discussion. This is not about some over the top scenario like she gave.
This is about someone getting bullied for weeks/days and someone (Paula) that was part of the bullying getting a taste of their own medicine.
How about they were all wrong? Paula, Laurel AND Wes.
Somehow I don't think people would make fun of someone having cancer, but they would make fun of someone being anorexic.
Still, it's a life threatening disease that could easily be triggered. But I wouldn't say just because Laurel bit harder that you have to take Paula's side. Paula was high-fiving Wes and laughing while Cara Maria was crying and being bullied nonstop.

No disease should be made fun of, regardless of its severity. That was her point.
I think Laurel's original intent was in the right place to defend Cara. If Cara doesn't hysterically cry over just meaningless name calling and soda being poured, Laurel doesn't freak out. But Laurel took what was a nice gesture to stand up for her and went too far with it. Not saying Paula is innocent, she is a "mean girl" and it's easy to say stuff when you know JEK will back you, but some personal matters should be off limits.

There are civilized ways to handle even savages. We are not an "eye for an eye" kind of society. Adam was poking away at CT during their famous fight. Did he deserve to get his face smashed? Most would say no.
Was Paula out of line with Cara Maria? Absolutely. Is Laurel's behavior disgusting? 100%.

Why is my scenario over the top? Because you've decided Cancer is more serious than Anorexia? As a woman who has dealt with disease, I can tell you that is absolutely not your place. Disease is disease. What exactly is your argument here? Are we ranking illnesses in the order by which they are allowed to be made fun of? Lupus, Bulimia, Malaria, COPD, Diabetes, Schizophrenia..? What is allowable in your mind?
No disease should be made fun of, regardless of its severity. That was her point.
And my point is I dont agree with that premise under what actually happened. The Bully in this case what they deserved. Now are there cases that things are taken to far, even when attacking back a bully? yes. But I feel this is not one of those cases.

Here's the difference I think Paula was disgusting as well, kicking someone while they're down is IMO the most disgusting thing you can do. Repeatedly going after one person in the house and a weak person at that, is disgusting. Sticking up for your friend when she's nonstop crying for 3 days, and going over the top..eh disgusting but not 100% .
Here's my thoughts on the situation... Yes, Laurel should not have went there and attacked Paula's eating disorder. However, Paula was being a ***** to Cara Maria and as horrible as this is to say, it was hard to sympathize with her when she was being so cruel to her. I'm not saying Laurel had a right to do that, but she was getting Paula off of her partner's back and did whatever it took to do so.

Pretty much this.
And everybody has their weak spot or that thing that triggers them. Everyone knows the anorexia triggers Paula. Okay, two wrongs don't make a right.
But how do you know Cara Maria who has been picked on and bullied really badly at school, wasn't hurting on the same level as Paula when she was being bullied constantly in that house? She could have been just as traumatized. That stuff stays with you forever.
What Insider said actually makes a lot of sense. Not a lot of people understand the illness of eating disorders and how serious they are.
I agree. Both are awful and you can die from them. Those diseases/disorders really affect people terribly. Some people are able to cope better than others, but some are really turned upside down by them (obviously Paula was really messed up by her disorder).

I do think Laurel had good intentions this time because she was standing up for CM, but I agree with others who feel she doesn't have to take it to the level she does. The thing with Laurel is, she made the video on MTV.com apologizing about what she did to Eric on Cutthroat, came on here to apologize for her behavior, cried and acted contrite, people really believed her, then she flips around and acts rude again. For some people, this is just a continuation of her heinous rants which they see as some of, if not the worst, ever on the show. I think it was good for her to say something to Paula, but just as Paula has a hot spot being a recovering bulimic, Laurel acted like Eric said the most awful thing ever when he mentioned her back acne. Both Laurel and Paula need to learn to not go "there" with people often if they have such sensitive spots. Speak your mind, but watch what you say or how far you go. I actually liked Mike (The Miz) getting attitude with her on The Aftershow and trying to ask what happened to her being really upset about her behavior.

Funny.. this show is called Rivals. Remember when Laurel was picking on Cara Maria? Hmm...
Also, I never said Paula was right. In fact, I said she was wrong. I'm not arguing with that. I am arguing that it is absolutely disgusting to use the words Laurel used. If you cant find a better way to help a "friend" (I use that term loosely).. then you have serious problems.

That's true. I was watching it again and the part that I found the hardest to watch is Laurel saying "YOU'RE WORTHLESS" with so much venom. She's got a DARK side to her for sure that comes out when she's angry.
It's tough to argue who was more wrong and what is crossing the line and what should be off limits. I just leave it, all three of them (meaning Wes, Laurel and Paula) were wrong and need to learn bullying people is not the way to go just because you know their weak spots and you're upset with them.

Not only does it stick with you forever kids commit suicide over it all the time.
Its ridiculous to insinuate that Paula was hurting more than Cara
Yeah that was unnecessary. It wasn't even funny like when Johnny said "get it girl" in an effeminate way when they threw Tyler in the Gauntlet.
I thought it was hilarious.
