How good is wes (physical speciman?)
Fresh Meat 1
Beat Danny and Ev (who doesnt beat Danny
Beat melinda and Ryan (oooo you're scary now)
Beat Johanna and Jesse (would have lost but Johanna and Jesse forgot their flag at least that is what i gathered from the edit)
Beat Tonya and Johnnie (did you see tonya's endurance on I2 and her and Johnnie never got along)
Beat Shane and Linette (mediocre team)
Finished third in the Final (which is last in the final)
Overall i'd say since he had Casey as a teammate B+ to an A-
Seems like a lot of excuses to discredit 5 elimination victories in a single challenge. The weight advantage was a factor (which you didn't mention for some reason) but Wes carried all of it many times. Trying to discredit Wes for Fresh meat is a joke imo when he was paired with arguably the weakest competitor in challenge history (but that's a whole other argument).
The Duel
Only won one of the missions, beat Derrick in a Duel (impressive), then won final mission because he plays soccer better than Brad (Brad's time was better)
Overall B+ (As GSP would say "I'm not Impressed by your Performance")
Wes won 2 missions and came second or third to either Evan or CT (arguably the two best physical competitors in challenge history... again another argument for another time) five times. He came through in missions when he needed to and won the challenge... enough said.
The Ruins
Really didnt impress me during missions.
Beat Chet (come on his nickname is the bow-tie assassin)
Beat Nick (Come on man Weak Rook)
Lost to Cohutta (yes it wasnt pure physical but i thought wes was good at everything?)
Overall: C+
He never really had an opportunity to impress in the missions. The loss to Cohutta was explained (in the reunion) that team help was really needed. Wes was still 2-1 for elimination rounds in this challenge.
Fresh Meat II
Let his huge Ego destroy his whole alliance. Didn't Perform well on the missions because he thought he was god's gift to everything.
When he gets sent in to Exile he runs out of gas and Mandi ends up as the Wes of the group yelling for wes to pick it up. They lose to Ev/Luke (Greek god what?)
Overall: F
Agreed on his poor social game that challenge (ego) but this is about judging him as a physical competitor... right? In the reunion it was stated how the puzzle did them (Wes and Mandi) in and that Wes did carry all of Mandi's weight at some points (while Evelyn carried more than Luke) but gave up when he saw them so far ahead. To be fair, giving up in the elimination was/is pathetic whether due to exhaustion or realizing its hopeless.
That puts his overall grade in my opinion at a C+ (Decent player not all he says he is)
I think if competitors like Alton, and Landon were on the duel with the competitors of Evan, and CT. Wes wouldnt have sniffed the finals.
I would say Wes was the Boise State of these challenges but Boise actually "calls out" top dogs and performs well against them.
The only one i can remember him calling out is Derrick and i think that might be one of the reasons he doesnt call anyone out anymore. It was such a grueling event that it brought him to tears and i dont think he truly wants to go through it again.
.... seriously. Wes is near the top in all time elimination round appearances and is 9-2 (If I am remembering correctly). Him breaking down AFTERWARDS is not a reflection of his ability as a physical competitor. Him wanting to avoid other good competitors' is sound strategy. Also (just curious) why are you are using an elementary school grading system for his challenge performances (and a college football comparison)? Wes has proven that he is a great competitor in the past and has been given credit by others (ex. CT picking Wes first during the duel mission Pole Dance). He is a cocky, arrogant and sometimes insufferable persona (I somewhat believe it’s an act/selective editing) but that shouldn't detract from his challenge performances.
That all being said, I think it’s obvious that Alton and Landon (another two of the best all time challenge athletes) would have given him serious competition but it is far from guaranteed that they would have beat or even faced him.
By the way i grade his performance on this challenge an incomplete because yes he won the jungle for his team but to say he is "carrying his team" is ludacris I mean they DQ'd pretty much every mission way to carry your team into the ground. And yes this mission looks like its all Kenny's fault but wes didnt even have a chance to go for the Hammock whos to say he wouldnt have done the same thing.
Sorry for rambling. I might as well be Derrick Kosinski with all this Wes hate lol
To be fair lets analyze the missions and elimination rounds so far on Rivals.
First Mission: is a dq on a girl day (worthless)
Second mission: Was a disqualification by Kenny actually (selective editing present here) as he was the one who actually controlled the "crane arm" that went out of bounds
Third mission: Wes hangs onto the pole but due to Kenny immediately falling off it tips drastically and he slips off. IMHO if Kenny had held on they would not have fallen.
Fourth mission:Kenny disqualifies almost immediately. It is not fair to predict what could have happened but the fact that every other male pair completed the mission shows that your statement is very invalid. Also Kenny and Johnny's statements give further evidence otherwise.
First elimination: Wes wins his “matchup” but does not completely dominate Davis which would be expected of the top challenge competitors. Kenny’s lower body strength and strategy was very impressive in this elimination as he stood up Tyrie. This prevented Tyrie from getting low in his stance and using his weight advantage.
First point: Occurs when Wes switches onto Tyrie and shrugs off Davis while Kenny does the majority of work.
Second point: Both win their matchup after an initial back and forth with Kenny authoritatively slamming Tyrie.
Third point: Wes beats Davis and Tyrie is pushed over his fallen over teammate by Kenny.
Overall, Kenny definitely was more important to this elimination challenge (which seems to be catered to his strengths... driving through with his legs) and Wes did his role but did not dominate (as a top challenge competitor would).
Second Elimination: Wes takes a terrible first jump and is barely holding onto the rope with his shoulders above the nasty pit water. He beats out Ty and then has to face Brandon in the tie breaker. Brandon is gassed so Wes wins in dominating fashion.
Him carrying is not true imo (due wholly to the first elimination) but a weak case could be made.
Now if you just dislike the guy or the persona (who really knows) that's understandable especially due to the comments and game choices he makes. However, to say that Wes is just an average physical competitor in these challenges is just not true. He’s not one of the very best all time challenge athletes but (imo) he’s in the tier below (Top tier: Landon, Alton, Evan, Ct and maybe Darrell (only due to Darrell’s weaknesses).

Amazing post! Great analysis.
smh
Wes, is that you?
haha.. no this isnt wes, and no i don't think he is the greatest ever. But i just don't see why everyone is hating on him?? Yeah of course he is cocky, but HILARIOUS. I mean come on, when he called himself a "physical specimen" and how he compares himself to a greek god every other clip, that makes good TV. I have seen this guy since the Real World Austin and he hasn't changed a bit.. still as ridiculous and cocky as ever. I would go as far as saying he is the most entertaining RW castmember ever.
And really? i hate how people can say kenny and johnny are top competitors. Wes has proved time and time again that he is a more well rounded competitor than kenny. Did u see kenny try to climb that rope? and johnny? what has he ever done individually? absolutely nothing. Sure they have won multiple times, but relied on others. Even on FM2, i would like to see how far kenny would have gotten without Laurel.
Evelyn is looking so amazing!!!! I don't know what she's done differently for this challenge but I think she looks so pretty, especially in her confessionals.
I love the setup of this challenge and that people are actually having to fight their way to stay in the game. I found it very, very interesting to see Kenny's reaction to not having such a free ride as it sometimes seems he does. I am also surprised at how much I like Jonna and Jasmine.....thought it was ballsy of them to vote for Mike and Leroy. I like that as rookies they haven't faded into the background so far and are really holding their own.
Kenny and Tina came in 2nd overall on the first FM. How do you think Tina compares to Laurel athletically?
That time around... Kenny was brand new. He had no friends.
ONLY because Tina rocked at the puzzles in exile. That's the only reason why they made it to the end. Tina isn't that great physically but she's a puzzle person.
Also, Kenny may have been new but he had Tina who was a real vet. She was friends with a lot of them and they didn't vote for her until later on when they all had to turn on each other.
Inferno III, Kenny was considered the weakest guy on the team. Good guys chose him because he was an easy win. The Ruins and The Island was all political. He didn't prove anything besides being able to row a boat at the final.
Whether we love/hate Kenny or love/hate Wes, they're blowing this season. At least Kenny is admitting he needs to step it up while Wes is talking **** and hasn't won a mission, not even close. Their team has 3 DQ's, whoever is at fault doesn't matter because they are a team. Besides, I see it as mission 1: Wes' fault, mission 2: both, mission 3: Kenny. Wes is saying how him and Kenny are the biggest and baddest team and any team to oppose them would get "bent over." Okay then big, bad, greek god, sculpted, physical specimen, why didn't you go in against CT? Oh, that's right. You're bark is bigger than your bite. My issue with Wes, over Kenny, is that Wes is so delusional. "I'm good at everything" and "CT is MAYBE stronger than me." Dude, your arms are so bloated with steroids they're TOO big and it's just for show. I bet you injected yourself too much that you can't even itch your head. Maybe it was editing or whatever but when Wes dq'd, he didn't open his big *** mouth but when it's someone else, he has every right to point it out.
If TJ took his shirt off this would be a really great shot lol
Actually, I'll still have a problem with it. I'm consistent with my complaining.

Agreed. I’d still think it was a bs call, I just wouldn’t care.

I thought the same thing! I think she straightened her hair? I have a feeling she usually curls it.
Why the hell didn’t they get 2000$ ? That was BS ! TJ clearly said “I’ll give you 2 grand if you can win this thing”. Plus I feel bad for Evan and Nehemiah. TJ was basically like “You won! … psyche! Johhny and Tyler, get your *** over here!”
Haha Mike. “Hell yeah, I’m the best at puzzles. *big wink*”
Yea agree. Well it's easy to see why they like having him on a team challenge he is a beast and won't be a let down in a final big Easy style and dominates missions.
the whole everyone hates the guy thing so far is just JEK and Wes saying that and any negative stuff relating to him. I haven't heard that from any other cast member besides Adam K, who is partnered with him. So they show clips each episode of one of JEK or Wes saying how hated he is, but the girls all seem to like him and i don't mean just Mandi/Laurel i mean like enjoy being around him. Leroy and MIke haven't said they hate him on podcasts, etc. So it's all JEK and Wes trying to speak for everyone.
Actually, I only see Kenny and Wes saying negative things about him. I see Johnny and Evan mostly admitting his strength.

I find it funny that you called the challenge that Wes blew worthless because it was on a "girls" day, but the 3rd challenge (which was also on a girls day), you pointed out because you think Kenny was responsible for it..... Way to be neutral and objective!! :no3:

Wes is more bark than bite. He had the opportunity to make it "D-Day" and prove himself... and he passed it up.
Seeing Jenn (who is very short) struggle, I think Cara and Laurel would have an advantage since they're both above average in height.
Cara Maria is only 5'5. I wouldn't consider that to be above average.
HAHAHAHAHA @ Kenny/Wes Sucking so much.
And once again a chance to ensure one of JEK goes home and yet noone takes it. These people are really either dumb or just don't care. Either way...It's annoying.
Why the hell was Wes getting mad At Jonna/Jasmine? Wes has the numbers and those 2 are on the outs anyways so does it really matter if they vote how the Mob wants or not? They'll be going in the Jungle soon enough.
Brandon....WHY DIDN'T YOU WIN! WHY WHY WHY!!??
Oh and Adam...NOW you see it. NOW you see that trusting JEK is NOT in your best intrest. All your doing is crewing youself and your partner.
This challenge is pretty boring. It's very apparent who will win on the girls side & I feel like I'm watching reruns of something I've already seen for some reason. Major letdown
I love that Evan is wearing Kenny's jersey.
Leroy has been receiving high praises from JEK. He's the best new cast member they had in years according to them. It's ironic that he seems to be tied to CT's hip this whole season. Mike Mike has been spewing CT hate from podcast to podcast. Perhaps someone comes in between the Vegas bromance?

No real surprise there. Mike Mike always has something to say about every little thing whether its good or bad.
I really do hope CT and Leroy can get along from here on out.
I also love how the producers wait to an elimination episode finally show us Brandon and Ty and even having lines. I almost forgot that they were there.

Would've been nice if somehow CT/Adam, Leroy/Mike, Brandon/Ty, Jonna/Jasmine, and Sarah/Katelynn could've somehow got on the same page with voting because that could've been 5 out of 11 teams that you could've had vote for Evan & Nehemiah and if you could swing just one of the girl's teams, you'd get 6. I don't see why teams like Evelyn/Paula and Jenn/Mandi would vote with the JEK alliance when they never really benefit from it themselves in the long run... especially Ev and Paula. I understand Ev's loyalty to Wes but JEK treat her like **** most of the time and a big reason why Paula's never won is because she gets screwed over by those clowns.
As for the whole Kenny/Wes situation, they've been about even so far. Wes was the reason they DQ'ed in the first two challenges and Kenny's been the main reason they've DQ'ed in the past two. In their first elimination, Kenny looked much more impressive against a much bigger and stronger guy than what Wes went up against and last night, Wes killed the ropes and Kenny barely got out of the water. I wouldn't say either of them has really outshined the other so far through four episodes.

Honestly, the only way I could have seen someone taking out their alliance would have been if CT himself stepped up and said "I'm volunteering, I want to go in, please everyone vote for me," in which case they take out Kenny and weaken the alliance.

Agree and disagree. I agree on the fact that Jenn/Mandi and Ev and Paula should've went with what Jonna and Jasmine were saying (its not that I don't like Mike and Leroy) I just think had Jenn or Mandi went ahead and got rid of the Mob they could possibly secure a higher place in the final race. However I disagree that Ev has to have some since of loyalty to Wes.
Sure he took up for her on The Ruins but now he's purely scandalous and even selfish. Ev should've went with her gut feeling and said, "No. We're not going to place CT and Adam first." But I do think Evelyn told Paula right abut how she of all people shouldn't have giving a sngle word to JEKW especially since they are just going to turn around and attempt to screw her over in the end.
and Evelyn just loves to be in the position to prove she's right. Which she is, but she loves to rub it in the face a bit.
I think the bigger issue, over her being right, is that they never listen to her. It's frustrating to know something and then have everyone ignore you. Ironically, on Derrick's podcast Johnny and Kenny were criticizing Paula for wanting to make her power play (putting Camila and Theresa against Laurel and Cara Maria) too early in the game.
They need to shut up with that Jasmine and Jonna talk. It's not like they have Jasmine and Jonna's back or even care about them to begin with, so the target talk is stupid. They are just filler to them. They can vote how they want.
On Derrick's podcast with Jonna and Jasmine, Jonna said that Evelyn kind of took them under her wing, taught them how to play the game, and was the only one who tried to cut deals with them (i.e. going last if they got to make the order and stuff). So actually yeah, someone DID care about them.
I wish Laurel would pull an Evelyn (from the Island) on them and just do what she wants. Johnny should have nothing to say because they voted Laurel and CM in... so obviously, JEK is just using them for their vote.
EDIT: Sorry, they didn't vote them in, they voted a "better team" for them to go against.
I was under the impression that the guys never even got a chance to vote, and that's why Paula was upset at them. Also, Cara Maria said on her formspring that she wanted Camila/Theresa.
Did anyone catch that clip of Ty and Tyler in the club or am i just imagining things lol
OMG that was frickin' GREAT! I was wondering why no one commented on that.
I think it's kind of pathetic that Kenny is so depressed about doing poorly. He's with his best friends in a beautiful country, with a teammate who isn't dragging him down and is, in fact, doing better than him. Forgetting about the fact that I don't like Kenny, I hope he either gets it together or goes home because I'm tired of listening to his whining.
And I know that there was a time limit, but I still think it was ridiculous that CM/Laurel didn't get the win. At the very least, they shouldn't have been lead on like that.
OMG that was frickin' GREAT! I was wondering why no one commented on that.
Not great but embarrassing. Tyrell know he was wrong for that. Though I think that was very suspect of him to be seen doing that especially after all that he said to Brandon and Paula on Cutthroat.
Kenny acting like he was depressed was very funny. We all know he's faking it, xD.

Ev and Wes are actually friends, and they were in an alliance together on FM 2 as well. Given the situation at the time (Paula had already agreed with JEK), Evelyn knew that going back on that would be suicide. And I actually believe the guys when they say they want Paula to win this time. I know there's the issue of voting and orders, but her being there and her winning really doesn't affect their ability to win or lose, like with The Island. Although I will say that it sucks for Evelyn having to work with JEK after they screwed her over multiple times.
Cara Maria is only 5'5. I wouldn't consider that to be above average.
The average height for females in America is around 5'3.7 - 5'4 so it is "above average".
I actually really liked this episode. First off, what the heck, Laurel? The whole part where she was trying to flirt with CT actually succeeded in making me want to cringe. It was just so awkward and he clearly wasn't that interested in her. I wonder if CT is actually going to hook up with anyone...that would be interesting. I have to admit, even though they give him subtitles sometimes, he is pretty hot. Second, I just love Mike. He's soo adorable. Third, that whole D-Day plan was ridiculous. You'd think these guys would actually try to get smart about things...actually no... you wouldn't. Fourth, Although Wes did kick butt in the elimination round, he really didn't need to upgrade it to super cocky. "I am a specimen carved by Zeus..." or whatever was pretty unnecessary.
Otherwise, again, I fairly enjoyed this episode :)
I don't dislike Leroy and most of the time I believe what he says but, man, of course you say you aren't afraid of CT. Why would anyone admit to something like that?
That elimination round was horsesh*t. I rewound the part where Brandon rang the bell and watched it in slow motion. He clearly rang the bell before Wes did.
Even then, the format of this elimination round was stupid. The whole point of this season is about how well the competitors can work with their enemies. So far, all the elimination rounds have been pretty good at emphasizing teamwork. The rules should have stated that BOTH team members had to reach the bell in order to win...Brandon and Ty might still be in the house.
I'm sick of production favoring certain teams to keep storylines going. I'm already sick of the Wes v. CT nonsense. I would have loved to see Brandon and Ty pull a huge upset.

When TJ was talking about a "tie", he meant if one person from each team rang the bell before the second person from a team made it up the rope, since in order to win both members of one team had to ring the bell before any of the people on the other team. While I think the rules were stupid and should involve teamwork of some kind, whether or not Brandon rang the bell before Wes in the first round made no difference.
