Thank God, I almost had a heart attack lol.
Based upon what I've read thus far, I'll see if I can work up the time and energy to care about Cancun. I may opt to be in the library reading a good book at 10 pm on Wednesdays.

V1 you're hysterical. Do you ever stop being witty? I don't think it's possible haha. I just hope they don't disappoint me. I haven't looked forward to seeing a RW season in a very long time. Based on what the cast has been saying on here it sounds like it "should' be a good season...although they could just be talkin a bunch of ish too. We'll see

Exactly.

Every year people complain about the seasons before they air (or we even get to see a trailer) saying it's gonna suck and blah blah blah, you and most of the people saying they aren't going to watch WILL watch and comment on the show. lol. Not trying to slam you, I've just been watching this show since the start and it seems that no matter the message board or the season there are always people that say again and again the new season is gonna suck and they won't watch.........and surprise surprise, they always watch whether they like or dislike it. It's like a drug, lol.

Er, I wouldn't question V's words. He means what he says. :acute:
Er, I wouldn't question V's words. He means what he says. :acute:
Maybe he won't watch it and will prove me wrong????? I'm just saying that a majority of the people that are going on and on about how this season looks awful and how they won't watch will be posting heavily in all the Cancun threads during the season (I believe Vman will be one of them, but that doesn't matter). It happens EVERY year, I remember as far back as San Diego reading on either Tubescan or Televisionwithoutpity or Fansofrealitytv.com people go on and on about how the season looked terrible and they hated the cast and how they were finally done with RW or the challenges BEFORE the season had aired............and then those same people either loved it or *****ed about it nonstop and watched the entire season, haha. If I remember I'll quote back to this when the posts are made. :) Mark my words that most of the people saying that Cancun looks terrible and/or they aren't going to watch will be viewing and posting up a storm, lol.
It's really annoying checking this site and seeing certain threads updated because it makes me think there is new info on the Cancun season.
But no, it's just people complaining about the season even though they haven't seen 0:01 seconds of the show, edited OR not edited.
You complain that it will be like the Vegas season, ew, it's trashy, all they do is have sex....if it wasn't for seasons like Vegas that captivated a lot of audiences, then RW probably would have ended a few seasons ago.
If you see the trailer, and choose not to watch it, that's fine. If you watch the first episode or two and you don't like it, fine. All you have to say is "this season is not for me". Not post it all over a message board and label it a trashy, gross season.
I'm not trying to be a **** but, come on already!

Jayden, I agree that your comments will be true for many, but you have no clue who I am. Classic mistake. "Not trying to slam me?" :sarcastic_hand:
Random fan I'm not. In fact, I'm not a fan at all. I'm a pro in the entertainment business. Reality TV is a major part of our business at Vision 1 Media Group. No company knows the genre better; no company represents/manages/consults with more reality people than we do. We also assist in casting shows and have had notable success with The Bachelor franchise and are currently the casting entity for a new 8 episode reality competition series coming to cable later this year. I'm also an executive producer with an LA-based production company that just signed a seven episode original series deal with DirecTV.

My earlier comment, now repeated above, has two specific intended audiences in mind.
1) Bunim Murray Productions
2) The cast of RW: Cancun
What my comment means is that I will not roll over and play dead for the show or the cast. Before and during the Brooklyn season, Vision 1 put a great deal of effort and money into helping reach out to the audience that had left RW behind as its focus became salacious during and in the seasons following Las Vegas. I made a commitment to do this in a Dec. 2008, conversation with Jon Murray, the BMP CEO, whom I've respected for years. Sadly, Jon was more ready for a different show approach than the producers and editors could achieve. It was a good cast largely gone to waste. Bottom line #1... V1MG is not the go to company for Cancun. BMP and MTV are on their own. I hope it works out for them and perhaps we'll be here again for the next season.
As for the cast, I am not a fan of family infighting. I regretted Katelynn's initial comments (but respect her, having come to know her personally since last fall) and the "school yard" responses from reported cast members did nothing to make me want to seek them out to offer V1MG's services. Frankly, I don't get coming on any message board and engaging if defensive PR tactics even before one's season begins. That is not advice I would offer a client for a variety of reasons. Again, I'm willing to see if "I can work up the time and energy to care," but I'm no longer automatically accepting clients from RW as we have in the past -- where we even took on, pro bono, CT's request to go after some of the people who fraudulently were posing as him on myspace. Bottom line #2. I'm not a hard sell because the RW/RR community is family to me, but I'm not going to automatically be impressed because a bunch of poorly paid casting people in Van Nuys, CA, decided these 8 people are special. They may be, but honestly I've seen and heard it all before.
If there has been a better friend to RW and RR cast members over the years and a more active and passionate advocate for the show, I'd like to meet that person, because I don't know him or her, and like you, Jayden, I've been around since the first RW season. Actually, I only know a very few people on this board who were even born when I had my first job in TV.

Thats right, you tell em V1!! *snap snap*
V1 any chance anybody from BMP will be on either of those shows you mentioned for cable?
If they are stars, there is always the potential...
I see your point Jayden for example ill provide evidence to your statement..
All you have to do is go over to the Rock of Love/Charm School/Real Chance of Love/For The Love of Ray J/Daisy of Love threads
All these threads above at the start of them when a show is first announced you get the regular posts/comments from people saying & "these shows suck,I'm tired of them, I'm sick, there so fake, etc" or the famous "I'm not gonna watch anymore these shows are so fake"
Yet skip a couple of pages and 2 or 3 episodes into the season all you see is the same people who criticized the show you see them talking about how the episodes where and how they liked certain things and commenting/postin about the season.
And its the same thing when Inferno 3 and The Island aired all you saw was people saying they weren't gonna watch anymore and etc...yet there the ones talking about how the season was and the episodes and how stuff could've of been better and etc.
It was the same thing with the Inferno 3 and the Island same people saying they weren't gonna watch where the same people commenting and posting about the Challange throughout the season.
On a sidenote before I get off topic I come into this season with an open mind and I can't wait too see you guys in Cancun!!!!!!!
I always watch the Real World. I love it. I was a little skeptical at first but BK got boring at the end and I realized I did miss the drunkeness. I'm counting down the days until June 24th. :)
Me too , by the way- anyone know when or who's doing the casting special?
Reported in this space some time ago... The "House Visit" which incorporates the old casting special was canx by MTV. Reason: Lack of funds.
