The Real World: Portland - Out With a Bang

Going along with the last couple of posts, I have to say that I think my biggest issue with Nia is that she was pretty much acting the entire time. Like, I still think she seems like a pretty horrible person but Nia is the first person to come on the RW (IMO) who I truly felt was just straight up playing a character. I think the show would have benefited more from being less "the Nia show" and more about the cast as a whole. I just think her presence made everything feel that much less "real". I don't have a problem with her being on the show (well, sorta), but we didn't need as much of her as we got. I know not everybody is always as genuine as they appear on the show, but like I said, this is the first time where it just straight up felt like a complete and total show for the cameras. I still think she's a psycho/sociopath though.
What has most concerned me, as I've learned more about what production did and did not do or encourage during the Portland season taping is what it cold mean for the future. If one begins from the premise that (She who shall not be named) was cast as a "character," and that character is what production asked her to portray, then what is to stop BMP from casting two or more people next season to play characters? In a reality environment, one does not have to be a great or good actor. To wit: (She who shall not be named). One just needs to know the story line and act on it. Heck, Production can the people two different story lines and agree to pay them for their camera time that makes it to air. Am I stretching into fiction? Two years ago I would have said that I was. Now I'm not so sure. Over a decade ago, in an interview Jon Murray said that at the time of RW: Los Angeles, he didn't know that Beth Stolarczyk was a trained professional actress. (Ohio University Theater School), and that if he had known, he would never have cast her because BMP wanted real people. [The entire story will be in Beth's book, so I won't retell it here.) Contrasted with casting today, it's just a complete charade of people who want camera time. Veteran cast members have said this about recent RW season people on the Challenges -- just outright camera *****s who are cool and OK to be around and then when the camera crews walk in, there change 180 to full on drama mode.
I mean Nia is smarter than I thought. She got literally exactly what she wanted. Days after the show ended she's the only person people still are talking about and I'm not even talking about just here. She's delusional if she thought she would reach Snooki-levels of fame, The Real World doesn't make stars like that anymore but at the end of the day she did accomplish what she wanted which is to be one of the most talked about cast members in recent years. If anyone from recent seasons was to get a spin off (which she claims she's kind of in talks with MTV for) it would definitely be her because she's clearly someone people love to hate and those are the people who typically go far in the reality TV world (New York, The Situation, Heidi and Spencer). So yeah, she's a lot smarter than I thought because she's getting exactly what she wanted. Out of the entire cast she's gonna go the furthest, I still think she's vile and awful though.

I would love to see Nia on GirlCode. There was a convo between her, the girlcode twitter, and the mtv twitter a while back but it was removed.. the last tweet was like "we tried contacting you" or something like that.
If you say "I think", the "IMO" isn't necessary. You honestly think someone who casually watches the show, a failing show, is going to actually get online and investigate like people on here do? This isn't Big Brother. This is The Real World, the average person isn't going to go online and look up interviews.
Not to mention talking bad about her teeth as if Averey was the god among females. Nobody's perfect as evident by how this entire thing went down.
Is that before or after the book is published?
I think the question is who is going to actually even want to deal with the book in the first place, much less buy it so yeah, neither. There's no way in hell they would even considering giving anybody on their reality schedule a spin-off. Some of them have been good like the Pedro movie or Ryan's experience but the rest like Reunited were just bad.
People are talking about how Nia cheapshotted Averey... but what about when Averey started hitting Nia when Nia went to attack Johnny... that sounds like a cheap shot to me.
Nia went to attack Johnny
You've answered your own question. Nia was attacking Johnny who was at that point defenseless against Nia's onslaught, being he would not punch a girl. Averey stepped in to defend her boyfriend. This isn't rocket science.
Your point is invalid still... she could've grabbed Nia puller her off of Johnny and waited until they were both facing each other so it could be an even fight instead of a weak *** cheapshot.

[strike]You're sounding quite ridiculous at this point.[/strike] While I value your opinion, I think we've come to the logical conclusion of this discussion - with no new territory to cover.
Well, I guess
Bacchus and I are of the viewpoint for the most part. Averey waited until Nia hit Johnny before she jumped in because then she would be defending the situation and NOT aggravating it further. In Johnny's interview with On The Bus, he even stated that Nia was yelling at him through the door, taunting and telling him she was going to kick his ***. He said the cameraman felt sorry for him and wished him good luck.
Well, I guess
Don't "guess" when replying to the site owner. One only looks foolish... and short-lived at vevmo.

Averey should not have lifted a finger unless Nia had her gun pointed at Johnny's head whilst dangling her parents above a tank full of sharks and alligators.
