For real though the challenges back in the day were awesome. Especially the Original Series (Battle of the Sexes, Gauntlet, Inferno) got Battle of the Seasons to Inferno 3 (skipping BOTS 2) in my ipod.....You new cats are missing a lot.
EASTNY: Indeed BOTSeasons was a good challenge. I think what made it and the Battle Of the Sexes popular was the concept of the inner circle and the scoreboard. They should revive that in a later challenge.
ETA: I wonder how much exiles Wes and Casey would have won if the rules for the exiles were like the final challenge? (Bags depending on how well you did in a puzzle instead of baggage)
Who can ever forget Ruthie and Eric and Mark, Great Competitors and Timmy and Cyrus.
I can't remember the exact challenge but remember when Cyrus took the paint ball to the head...which challenge was that again?
Battle of the Sexes and Battle of the Seasons were some of my Favourites.
Well and I must love all the challenges that happened in the Caribbean cause I live here. The Tobago challenge was not that great but the Jamaica challenge was good.
The Challenge was the Inferno 2. She threw the clothes in the pool because Beth had told Robin of a supposed affair that Tonya had had with Robin's boyfried Mark, leading to the classic moment where Tonya threw her clothes into the pool.
I love Tonya, and I am glad to see her on this Challenge again. If only Beth were on this Challenge with her that would be some great t.v. with all three of the women on the Challenge. Would they even put all of them on a Challenge together?
Speaking of the Inferno 2, does anyone know if Dan from Miami is going to do anymore challenges? I heard somewhere that he was "retired." I thought he was very entertaining on the Battle of the Sexes and the Inferno 2.
Don't think he is going to do any more challenges at this point. I agree his comments are funny. I wish that I can get access to the Extreme Challenge (Another one Dan was on) and Challenge 2000.....
I sure hope he's the host, I don't even know who this Dave Mirra guy is (isn't he the other rumored host?) so all I know is T.J.
Dave Mirra is a BMX biker (x games guy). I loved him on Inferno 2. He had so much personality and was joking a lot with the cast. (I only remember this because I just recently watched this season on youtube before the user was banned.) I know he hosted the original Inferno but I don't remember it as well. If he came back, I would definitely watch this new challenge.

Yeah, I liked Dave just as much as TJ, if not more because he was such a joker with the cast. I think they should have Rob and Big host the new one...that could ensure some pretty funny pranks I bet, LOL.
Remember back in the day when all the challenges were strictly Road Rules versus Real Worlders? I wonder when they started mixing the teams up. Anyhoo, speaking of pranks, remember the challenge where the Real Worlders were sick of losing so they sent a fake scavenger hunt challenge to the Road Rulers on one of their nights off??? Classic.

Hey, how have you been stranger?!?!
Yeah I remember that one...it was so funny!! Who's idea was the fake scavenger hunt anyway??
If rumors from within a past cast are true, then TJ should have been replaced for playing "***************" with a female cast member from one of the challenges.
Personally, I'd like to see future hosts come from the ranks of past challenge cast who have strong hosting skills. That is one way to keep the top part of the RW/RR demographic involved. That person would also be a great addition to the iamonmtv.com community while the challenge is airing (or here, too, for that matter).

You mean Like Blair or Coral??
Sooo who concealed the salami?? can you share that info? I have a couple of cast members that I suspect it could be...

Or Mark Long
Or The Miz
Or Flora
or Beth
As for the recipient of TJ's "advances," you are free to speculate. I just don't want to share without first consulting legal counsel. ;)

Perhaps you could narrow it down to a specific challenge...I was going to assume that it was the Gauntlet 3, but then I thought it could have been an earlier one and the "secret" just hadn't come out until recently.

They Started Mixing Imo Because Mtv Didnt Want To Give Road Rules A Chance Again

I think you are right, also look at the cast for the past three challenges, they are mostly real worlders!
only few road rulers remain, mostly derrick and adam sometimes.
What ever happened to the public retirement statement that people gave. They gave us some warning, Mark and Eric did it and said when their final challenge was.
Timmy did it......these days people just leave and we happen to hear they are retired.

These "Retirement Announcements" happened on camera because the cast member intended to announce his or her departure during the show taping, or as in Mark and Coral case, they announced it during the reunion show to which each had been invited. Not every cast member is invited to the reunion shows following their challenge. Similarly, not every cast member knew when they were on a challenge that it would be there last. There really is no other practical venue to make any such announcement other than to plan to make it during a challenge, or last long enough or do something dramatic enough to get invited to the reunion show.

Oh thanks V1Man, that makes things a bit clearer :D
Depending on the challenge, the alliance would have a greater chance of winning.. then Robin would mos def go home.
Refresh my memory...on all the challenges she has been on, has Paula ever competed in anything besides a team or final challenge?? I don't remember any but I could be wrong. Surely Robin could beat her, maybe even Johanna because I don't remember her being throwin in a Gauntlet/Inferno either?

According to Wikipedia, Paula competed in event # 15 on Inferno 3. Paula beat Aneesa in "Nothing but Net." Paula won. I had to look it up because I didn't remember it either.

I'm pretty sure Paula was eliminated by Aneesa in the Duel. I think the event was a Pole Wrestle.
this is what wikipedia says about the challege between Paula and Aneesa on Inferno 3..
"8. Paula and Aneesa: Shimmy
The opponents must shimmy up between walls, ripping off team flags along the way. The first one to rip off the flag at the top of the walls wins.
Winner: Paula"

In the Duel.. Paula was eliminated by Aneesa... according to wikipedia.. lol

Actually the wiki on past challenges has always been very accurate when you delete the opinions.
Random question, Why wasn't Jo replaced when she left the Gauntlet 2?
The Island is the first time I have ever been able to prove that someone was actually contracted to be a ready replacement in the first week. I think that MJ in Gauntlet 3 and Derrick in Inferno 3 were lucky finds and were not under contract to come in to the show. I know that for I3, Derrick had signed to appear in a club in Tampa on the Friday he arrived in South Africa to replace CT.
In Jo's case, I don't have any facts to offer, but because she went home first, there was enough dramatic video in that instance to negate bringing someone in. In fact, one could argue that from a first episode perspective, it was almost like it was better for the show.
The only person to come from these shows the last couple of years (from the Fresh Meat challenge and on) that has really impressed me competition wise has been Evan as far as I can remember.
:yucky: seriously? ugh.
:yucky: seriously? ugh.
I said competition wise! Not personality wise!
Whether you like him or not (I am not fond of him after Gauntlet 3), you have to admit he is a very good competitor.

He may be an ok competitor.. but the only good one?
Kenny's record isn't bad...
Fresh Meat.... finished 2nd.. he MORE than proved himself there.
Inferno III.... made it to the end... bad ***** won.. right? Don't remember.
Gauntlet 3... We all know what happened there...
The Island.... He's dominating the game... and he competed VERY well on his face-off.
The only show he didn't compete well on was the Duel.
Has Evan won anything?
