We see the same people over and over again and they're the new kids with the exception of Bananas, CT, Wes & Aneesa...and maybe Sarah. Nany, Jonna, Zach, Leroy, Dustin, Cara Maria, Camila, Knight, Jemmye, etc....it is the same "new kids" over and over again because they stopped bringing in people like Darrell, Rachel, Abram, etc. You need a balance. It is honestly hysterical when people talk about Landon having done too many challenges...or Susie. They done FOUR. Most of the new kids have done as many or more in a 4-5 year period. Landon and Susie should be on every once in a while--no one here is saying they should be on every season. No one should be on every season. But they should limit the show to the past handful of seasons of the show. It should emcompass the entire history of the Real World & Road Rules. If people from the past want to come back then bring them own. Clearly it worked with Trishelle as they brought her back for Rivals 2. It would work with many others as well.
Including the past isn't about not including the newbies...it is about creating a better product. CT & Bananas only show up every time because of mistakes made by casting (Evan/Kenny).
Seriously, people need to look at how many challenges people have done before they say stupid things
Thanks for this post!!!!
The problem is though that Landon and Susie have declined the initial calls almost everytime the producers asked them as did Coral, Beth, Veronica, Julie, Abram (Not wanting to do one with CM), Derrick, Frank R. and Brad and many fan favorite. If you believe what molds13, V1man and PinkRose said multiple times. So it's not like BMP/MTV is not trying to get those veterans. The only ones that said yes were Darrell, Rachel and Mark. Why they didn't cast them, I don't understand it. Trishelle went home in one of the most embarrasing way this show has every seen. Which got people calling her Trashelle and bashing her on twitter which ultimatilly forced her to stop doing challenges.
Frank absolutely was game for many challenges that he wasn't cast for. Derrick's wife is a problem but he got clearance for seasons and BMP went with Fresh Meat instead--smh. Brad was ready for Seasons along with Cameran and Robin...even Randy was good for a while but dropped out. It is naive to believe that people from the past won't come back. Arissa and Frank for good for Seasons--at least for a time. If you give people enough notice many people will make it work...
Trashelle has always been Trashelle to me...her actions caused her problems--unsuprisingly.
Darrell hasn't been on since FM2--that's just idiotic given they've had chances.
Also, it doesn't have to be fan favorites. There's nothing wrong with taking a chance on someone like Simon, Kefla, Mallory, etc instead of casting Cara Maria 7 straight seasons. It is about a mix. Just like they waited too long to introduce NOLA2. It isn't just mistakes with veterans--they've ****** up a ton of things.
Sure, some people have moved on--probably the majority of the past but if there's tons of people out there that would gladly take a free vacation--a paid vacation--to compete. And many of those "favorites" would come back if the conditions were better.
1. NO ******* RIVALS OR ALLIES. I do NOT want to see another pair challenge. Big Team or Indivitual please. It's too soon for Rivals and I don't want to see Allies.
2. If we need old-schoolers on then get people like Ruthie or Frank(Las Vegas 1) or even bring some of the Non-castmembers that haven't returned yet from Fresh Meat 2. or better yet..get people from newer RW seasons that haven't done a challenge yet that want to come on. I don't want to see Darrell or Landon. That's not diversity to me. It's repetition.
3. I personally would still ***** if CT/Backpack did make it to the end everytime. Both are old news and have nothing left to offer. They're not the only ones I'm sick of too. Leroy, Sarah, and Jonna could also stand to take a break. Wes and Aneesa need to give it up too.
1. You realise that Free Agents, an individual format, was the last challenge? BMP/MTV tries to avoid individual challenge, because they like the dynamics/drama when a team struggles or the partner pisses everyone off and you get the blame too. And the last 6 challenges (not counting Exes2) half of them were team or individual challenges so it isn't like we don't see those formats or we're stuck with pair challenges. It's completly in the middle in that regard. Team, Pair, Pair, Team, Pair, Indi.
2. I hate the fact that everybody thinks just because you were on the RW you have a free pass to do the Challenge. I don't want someone who was completely invinsible on their season to get cast to do a challenge. I think you should at least earn your spot too and I think BMP/MTV did a pretty good job to cast the right people from the RW for the Challenge.
3. I think CT and Bananas still give you something to watch. See Exes, Rivals2 and Free Agents. You should better not say that they don't have anything to offer. Bananas was public enemy numero 1 on Free Agents and will probably be on Exes 2 and after the passing of Diem, CT will do everything to get the win for Diem and medgift....this guy is on a mission. CT and Bananas being old news is just laughable when they dominated the last 4 seasons they did confessional and drama-wise. Rivals, Exes, Rivals2 and FA. DA you should realise that there're many, many, many people who are not sick of seeing Leroy, Sarah, Jonna, Wes and Aneesa...so they do not need to give it up.
1. Um what? Last time I checked The last indivitual challenge prior to Free Agents was The Duel 2(and even that wasn't entirley indivitual) And that was MORE than 6 seasons ago. What you don't get is with Partner challenges people understand that they have to work with their partner in order to get anywhere . You can't trade them or get rid of them like you can in a Big Team Challenge. And no the last 6 seasons have been mostly partner challenges. I don't remember no **** Big Team challenge recently so what are you talking about?
2. Yeah being on RW acutally gives you a pass to be on The Challenges know why? BECAUSE THIS SHOW IS A SPIN-OFF OF THE REAL WOLRD! ROAD RULES TOO. Now I understand that there are people who are boring and may not add that much to the show but you know what? There are people on the challenge right now who aren't that much more interesting. And maybe the people who were boring on RW/RR may be intersing on The Challenge. Devyn and Katie are perfect exampels of people who didn't do much on RW/RR but shined on the challenges. And plus there are people who were interesting and big parts of their respective RW seasons that BMP passed up and didn't really considerfor challenges. People like Will/Erika/Ashley(DC)/Andrew/Parisa..I think those people(and more) should get a shot at challenges and maybe becoming regulars..
3. No. CT and Backpack don't have shit else to offer. On the 3 challenges you listed Backpack didn't make any impact on it on his own..if he was involved in anything it had more to do with other people rather than himself. In order for him to be interesing someone else usually has to get the ball rolling. Look at Rivals 2/Free Agents/Cutthroat..perfect examples. CT was been irelevant this past season and the only reason people are talking about him this season is because of Diem's death. As bad as this may sound but I really don't care about him trying to win money for Medgift. I really don't. That's not interesting to me. It may be for others but not for me. I'm so sick of the CT/Diem story. I want something else now.
Also AYTO on challenges need to not become a regular thing.
1. I was refering to Free Agents being the last season and they will probably not do an individual season anytime soon. BMP/MTV always do some seasons in-between individual challenges. Battle of the Seasons 2 and Cutthroat were team challenges. It doesn't matter the size of the teams. They were team challenge and that's every three season being one team challenge. You can even go one and take Ruins and FM2 into it. That's 3 out of 8 challenges. If you take FA, that's means half of these past eight challenges weren't pair challenges.
2. You want someone you was there only for like 2.5 episodes to get the chance to be on the Challenge? That's what I meant with a free pass. At least people should earn their spot on the Challenge and a chance to win money. Devyn and Katie. That's two challengers in eleven years who shined and both also shined because they were not really the active pole on drama or competition side, but rather were put into their roles.
3. Bananas and CT still made impact on those seasons and delievered drama/hook-ups/fights. Whether it was them being the active pole or on the defensive site. They still were involved in multiple storylines and were the big names coming out of those seasons which is the topic here.
1. Seasons 2 is a team challenge yes but it wasn't anything like The Ruins/Cutthroat/Gautnelt/Inferno. I want a team challenge of those magnitudes. Size does matter. Free Agents is the only recent indivitual challenge. FM2/Rivals/Exes are all partner challenges. Yes they are teams but they're moreso partner challenges. That is not the same thing as Cutthroat and The Ruins. Bottom line. I want another Big team challenge or Indivitual challenge. We've gotten partner challenges back to back or cosistently, They've also had big teams challenges back to back or consistntly why not do the same with Indivitual? What makes Indivitual formats more valuable than any other format?
2. You're not getting what I'm saying. There are people who were key to their RW seasons that have never been contacted for a challenge THOSE people should get to go on. Not someone who wasn't there for more that half of their season..unless they prove to bring something to the table like Adam(Las Vegas 2) I'm not sure what you mean by earning their spot on the challenge. What do you want them to do? Being on The Real World is all they can do to be on the challenge. What else is their to do?
3. Once again. They made their impacts because they were shown alot..And because they won. Had that not happened they would be irrelevant.

Oh and Landon/Susie..Really it feels like they did more challenges than they really did. Kinda like with Jillian. When you look at it they rareley appeared.
I don't know why you got that impression. That has never been the argument IMO. The argument is BMP ****** up from the very beginning by not keeping people involved that wanted to stay involved. It isn't Bananas fault that he's on every season--or CT's fault. ****, Sarah and Cara did 7 straight seasons because they drove away countless people that would have been good for the challenge. The only reason I can come up with as to why some feel that Landon/Susie/Jillian did more is that they lasted long. I mean, Susie didn't even do 4 full seasons as she came as a replacement on her first challenge. Susie, Landon & Jillian are kind of what we should want from a lot of people. Cast members that will come back once every 3-4 seasons. Fans would still know them and they aren't making a living off the challenge. Get conditions back to where they were and you do that.
Now, the stupid themes have limited some of these opportunites but they still exist.
I mean, it is beyond absurd that some only appeared once....look at all the women in particular that were one hit wonders while we had Paula on every season. Even Aneesa, who did 6 before Rivals, had a nice rotation. Sexes--skipped 2--Sexes 2, skipped 1, Gauntlet 2, skipped one, did 2, skipped 2, did 1 then skipped 3. That's really not bad. The show doesn't become reliant upon her but she's building a fan base. Then she did 4 of 5 (now 6) which is a bit much for her
I love seeing all of the old-school viewers who've been watching since the good 'ol days give their opinions on how this show can be changed, but honestly I think it's all for nothing at the end of the day. MTV refuses to give a **** about this show & they even go as far as to not even want people to watch it by constantly taking down videos from their site, then putting past newer seasons on Amazon Prime for people to pay for instead of keeping them on their site for free. Also choosing to pretty much act like anything that happened before Fresh Meat 1 - Gauntlet 3 never happened. They stopped the Dailies & were probably behind that site getting shut down recently.
Yet you can go on VH1's website & watch videos from the "of Love" era & before it to this day.
That's why I advocate for getting people from newer RW seasons that haven't done any challenges that want to come on..or maybe people who've done only 1.I like the new kids but they're making the same mistakes with them they did in the past. What you don't seem to understand or like is that the challenge isn't about "new people"...it is about drawing fans that want to follow certain cast members. The way to included new people and get fans to accept them is to gradually break them in. That is why BMP ****** up by not introducing NOLA sooner--they blew a chance. You want to include the past. Bananas shouldn't be on 6 out of 7 seasons and *****ing that he was left off of the 7th one but BMP painted themselves into this corner. Bananas is the type, due to his fan base, that they can get away with having on every other or even 2 out of 3 despite I'd like to see him less than that it does make sense.
Some of the new kids are good--most aren't good athletes which is why they can't beat guys like Johnny. Which is all the more reason you should want to see someone like Landon. Notice Landon was closest to CJ last time--Landon doesn't care about how long people have been doing this--he sides with the people that deserve it. Just like Katie said on Sexes 2--she was tired of the same people always making it to the end so she rallied the younger girls...you need veterans that will take this approach. Even Wes to a lesser extent does depending on the theme
This isn't Survivor or Big Brother...this show can't rely solely on "new cast members"...that's why not including past players is the mistake. Clearly it worked with Tris****e as they brought her back for Rivals 2.
Tris****e went home in one of the most embarrasing way this show has every seen. Which got people calling her Tras****e and bashing her on twitter which ultimatilly forced her to stop doing challenges.
Tras****e has always been Tras****e to me...her actions caused her problems--unsuprisingly.
See I would be okay with that..I don't mind older castmembers coming back but I don't want to see people I've seen a dozen times already..Mallory only did 1 challenge, Simon did none, Kefla did only one..Get THOSE people instead of just old fan favorites.. **** even get people that didn't do all that many challenges like Frank(Las Vegas 1)/Randy/Ruthie/Dan(Viewer's Revenge)/Arissa. I feel like people only want to see the old-school big dogs and regulars I personally don't want that.
Then she did 4 of 5 (now 6) which is a bit much for her
See if Ct/Backpack did that..**** if everyone on challenges in general did this then I wouldn't have an issue. If they came on every other challenge or do what Aneesa did Pre-Rivals I would be okay with them. I just don't like them being on every **** season and the whole show being reliant on them. And really some of the new kids could stand to skip a few then come back too.
That's why I advocate for getting people from newer RW seasons that haven't done any challenges that want to come on..or maybe people who've done only 1.I like the new kids but they're making the same mistakes with them they did in the past. As been said alot of them are raking up challenge appearances and they'll start to get old and stale in no time flat. BMP/MTV needs to find a way to keep the cast fresh so they show will be better as a result.

Um yes to an extent it is about new people. New people are needed to keep this show alive YOU don't seem to get that. constantly Introducing newer people from Newer RW seasons should be #1 priority because guess what? Those old-schoolers are not going to be around forever. Why do you think that new castmembers from the latest RW are brought in on pretty much every season? I get what you're saying..They need a mix but that's not possible without newer people coming in.

Now we're on the same page. I don't want the exact same cast every season--and we're getting that now. If they would have kept a nice rotation from the beginning we'd be in much better shape right now.
That's why I advocate for getting people from newer RW seasons that haven't done any challenges that want to come on..or maybe people who've done only 1.I like the new kids but they're making the same mistakes with them they did in the past. The should be constantly introducing new people. That's why I'm mad about NOLA2 not being introduced earlier. They delayed that which caused the issue with Seasons. Newer cast members on The Real World aren't that much younger than people that appeared on RR/RW a decade ago...The Real World is casting people older than they should be which is another problem. I've never once said they shouldn't bring in new people. For example, take AYTO out of this season and it was perfect. 4 people from Explosion & Averey. 3 of them have already gotten good air time. Hailey & Thomas just were a waste. AYTO is a disaster.
If you introduce a handful of people each season, like they used to do, it is easier for non-Real World fans to get used to them and grow to like them...they need camera time to matter. When you introduce too many some will get lost in the shuffle.
I think everyone can agree we want a cast that features a mixture of people across a wide spectrum of seasons. Each season you constantly rotate people so you introduce new people and different favorites are always there. Of course it is probably to late to fix this now because those relationships with past favorite castmembers wasn't maintained.

You're mad about NOLA..**** I'm still mad About DC. I never understood why Only Ty/Emily were the only ones from that season to be on the show. Andrew/Ashley/Erika/Josh all could've brung something to the show. Mike andCallie could've too. And I also didn't like that they Hollywood crew didn't make as much as an impact on the show that they could've.
And I do agree..AYTO was a disaster. I still don't get why Eric/Sahar, Trey/Laura, and Darrell/Rachel was passed up for them. They haven't done a **** thing so far. I really wish they were able to get the 4 Ex-plosion teams they wanted. We would've been spared the AYTO mess.

I'm mad about them taking too long to introduce NOLA not who showed up. Kimberly, Brittney & Brianna should have done more. I wish Dave wasn't a ***** and maybe he could have done a couple.
I'd rather have 4 ExPlosion teams over 2 AYTO teams but Darrell/Rachel & Trey/Laura would have been better. I'd have been okay with Eric & Sahar as well because at least they're trying to bring in people from the past instead of overstocking a season with one season. Kind of like they did on Fresh Meat with Austin. You can't have a third of the cast from the same season

Well I know they tried to get Preston/Ryan for Rivals 1 but one of them declined so it's not for lack of trying at least in the case of NOLA.
Kimberly/Brianna/Britnni really should have done more. They could've done this show some good in so many ways.
Honestly. I would've been fine with 4 Ex-plosion teams along with Darrell/Rachel, Eric/Sahar, and Trey/Laura. I know that's too many teams but I think the season would've benefited greatly.
My favorite part on these threads is when people attempt to argue with users like PinkRose and a few others about things they don't understand or know nothing about.
Why did they take so long to introduce NOLA? That was a good chunk of time before any of them showed up.
Callie, Andrew, and Josh should have came on for a Challenge. Brittini, Dave, Brianna, and Will would have been great too.
I was so confused by that especially since BMP loved Knight and Jemmye so much. I would have liked to see them on the challenge when they actually were dating because apparently their relationship after Nola was a lot different.
That's because BMP/MTV focuses on them. I'm assure everybody on the show can be involved in a storyline, BMP/MTV rather chose older vets over newer cast memebers not allowing them to get a larger fan base.
That's the only issue. I'm fine with Bananas and CT as long as they aren't the main attraction all the time. Although, they are did a fair job on Free Agents, not focusing on CT as much. Bananas was another story...
New people that got pretty good airtime on Cutthroat: Laurel, Cara Maria, Camilla, Brandon, Ty, Tyler in terms of the challenge
See a lot of new people got airtime and BMP/MTV focussed on them. They only reach the final and win thus people believe they would focus on them. The editor can't anything about it if the only story involves them. They can't make a storyline out of nothing.
Rivals2: CT acting like a complete moron and do everything to win.
FA: Jordan rightfully move to get Bananas out of the house and maximize his chances to win by going after the best guy after Frank left.
@Lurkernomore: I guarantee you that Bananas will never ever get a 10th win, because every time he participates in a individual or pair challenge, he should be the one the house needs to target and not the rookies. And if they do a team challenge, he doesn't have many friends left that would not throw in someone else than him. Anybody in their right mind should realise that by having Bananas in the house your chances of winning are pretty small whereas CT is still handicapped by his chain-smoking. Plus if CT returns, BMP/MTV will do anything to get the feel-good moment for the massive CT/Diem fans.....
I wouldnt consider Theresa to be new on Rivals 2, even if she was aligned with the rookies.
Why did they take so long to introduce NOLA? That was a good chunk of time before any of them showed up.
Callie, Andrew, and Josh should have came on for a Challenge. Brittini, Dave, Brianna, and Will would have been great too.
The first challenge they were eligible for was Rivals 1, since they ended filming new orleans the same week the cast of cutthroat left to Prague.
Then on Rivals 1- Ryan Leslie/Preston accepted to be on it, then Preston dropped...They were replaced by Leroy/ Adam.
Then on exes Jemmye/Knight broke up a week before the cast departed to film, they were together during calls just like Thomas/Jamie were together for xes 2 calls.
Callie/Josh were finally contacted for Battle of the seasons 2, but the girls from the cast had moved on except for Emily...Callie was pregnant, Ashley acting/engage and Erika with her radio show. They were unable to find a second girl from that season, the entire cast got dropped.
Hollywood was contacted for seasons 2, but none of the girls were interested in doing it or it was wrong timing (Briana).

Erika said she's interested not too long ago. That girl is drama, the fact they do not jump on that is insane! Plus she's hot. Well, minus the pink hair, the black and dark blur looked great though.

By what I was told , they wanted a DC team really bad for seasons 2. But at the time they were unable to convice those girls, they got multiple calls. They had 3 guys (one alternate) and Emily willing to do it. I have heard that they wanted a DC team over the Brooklyn one. I guess for Erika seasons 2 was bad timing and I saw the tweet so she had a change her mind about doing one a couple of months ago.
I actually loved the pink on her, hated the purple one she is rocking now days:

-sigh- So much potential down the drain with just two seasons.

**** Ryan/Preston would have been an awesome/hilarious pairing. I always thought Ryan would forsure be on a few challenges.

All of the bolded.
Oh and Landon/Susie..Really it feels like they did more challenges than they really did. Kinda like with Jillian. When you look at it they rareley appeared.
I agree with KVM when he said it needs to be a mix, encompassing the entire history of the show. I want to see both the old regulars & the ones who only appeared a few times or making their 1st appearance.
That's fine..But it just needs to not be repeptitive.
Why did they take so long to introduce NOLA? That was a good chunk of time before any of them showed up.
Callie, Andrew, and Josh should have came on for a Challenge. Brittini, Dave, Brianna, and Will would have been great too.
My favorite part on these threads is when people attempt to argue with users like PinkRose and a few others about things they don't understand or know nothing about.
I was so confused by that especially since BMP loved Knight and Jemmye so much. I would have liked to see them on the challenge when they actually were dating because apparently their relationship after Nola was a lot different.
I wouldnt consider Theresa to be new on Rivals 2, even if she was aligned with the rookies.

That purple don't look right on her at all.
-sigh- So much potential down the drain with just two seasons.
In that case... I'm glad there wasn't a DC team. I love Brooklyn. ****!
I'm with you on that, purple hair doesn't look good
**** Ryan/Preston would have been an awesome/hilarious pairing. I always thought Ryan would forsure be on a few challenges.
