"To be fair," you appear to know little about Beth or The Duel. I suggest you research the appropriate history of The Duel that is available here at vevmo or at Beth's blogs about that season. The most telling comments at the time came from Jodi who said that no one wanted to go against Beth unless there were some event that began and ended with something involving heights and water, since Beth had previously exhibited a fear of being suspended over water. Wes and Kina expressed similar views at the time or subsequently.
I think you misunderstood the " " around the delusions of grandeur (same context as your quotations around my to be fair statement). I didn't agree with that statement (it was not a meant as a quotation of Cherrypie's post or else I would have directly quoted the entirety of the post or with the coded quote box). I am familiar with The Duel and currently have the complete season on my external HD (also have read her MySpace blog in the past). Nehemiah was just the example I used since he was the one bmp depicted during the season (almost 20 seconds straight at the end of episode 7) being the most vocal about Beth's abilities. Therefore, he would be the one that a casual viewer would remember making those statements in the season. I could have also used CT stating that the “girls” sounded scared of Beth (Few minutes into episode 6).

Yes, apparently I did. Now it's clear... I think. ;)
Ever heard of somebody having a "show personality"? Do you really think Kenny walks around telling everyone how beautiful he is, or Johnny gets in so many arguments in real life? It seems to me that a lot of the guys (and some girls) don't necessarily change their personalities, but they just do certain things because they know a camera is on them. I think Wes is the same way. They want him to play up how he feels like a superior being.
Yes. Yes I do.
Wes is absolutely hilarious. "I'm a superior being," "I just keep beating people at everything..." BMP must LOVE his interviews.
Haha, of course they do. Whether you like Wes or hate him he makes these shows so much more entertaining. Same with CT and in the past, Coral. All of them have personalities that are perfect for these shows.

I agree with you that having unique personalities definitely give you more screen time on these shows. However, Wes does not have a personality that I enjoy watching. I'd much rather see someone being funny like CT or Coral. I guess it's just personal preference. If Wes' antics on Rivals help the series get renewed, I'm all for it.
Wes came up clutch in the last episode, and Kenny and the rest of the alliance should be thankful. But I don't find his total dismissal of Kenny's abilities afterwards, and his "I'm a specimen carved by Zeus" comments are just stupid. I think it's his tone which makes it more unbearable, because he sounds so serious.
Also on a semi-related note, why was he so mad at Jonna and Jasmine voting for Leroy and Michael? He had the vote taken care of already, and doesn't need their vote. He was acting like a baby, Johnny complained as well. His Godfather attitude in this game is strange IMO, because had he been partnered with someone other than Kenny (or Evan his 2nd option IMO), he would be on the outside looking in like CT. The way I see it so far, Kenny is the politics on his pair, and he is the athleticism (hopefully Kenny picks it up and they wreck the rest of the competition). He should let Kenny and Evan worry about the votes.
Either way, Wes is a good competitor, I just wish he could play up his camera time without going over the top or actually being funny, but that seems like a distant dream.

I think one possible explaination for Wes getting upset is some BMP editing. We don't necessarily know the order in which people voted or who everyone voted for. For example Jasmine and Jonna, the vote could have started with CT/Adam (vote for Brandon) then gone to Brandon/Ty who voted for Leory/Mike, then gone to Jasmine/Jonna who voted for Leroy/Mike, and this could have gotten Wes and the rest of the mob nervous. But who knows.
Apart from that I agree with this assesment completely. Clearly JEK has no affinity towards Wes as demonstrated by the Ruins. Let Wes take care of the missions and let Kenny worry about the politics (who is mediocre at best as far as challenges/eliminations go).
"I'm a physical specimen carved by Zeus" ahahaha
Okay this has got to be Wes playing a character. I don't believe he's really like that. I think he doesn't care how he comes off. He'll just say anything in his interviews. It's funny.

Is it really? If he said it in the tone like Michael used when referring to his "plenty" of upper body strength, which I mean jokingly, or at least make a ACTUALLY funny comment. But he sounds like he believes it, which makes it funny for the wrong reason lol.
But I can't believe I'm thankful he is on this challenge, because otherwise Kenny would be off it, and that guy actually is funny.
How are his comments about himself funny but when Kenny jokes around and says he's "Mr. Beautiful" people jump all over him?
Amen, and you can tell Kenny is joking based on tone and facial expression, and the bragging is more mild.

They both have a plethora of detractors. Seems fair to me.
Some people are more vocal than others in expressing their displeasure or admiration.

This is the one situation were Kenny gets a pass. As of this challenge I don't mind when he says it seeing as how Wes has lost his mind.

I agree. I do think he's arrogant anyway but he totally plays it up for the camera.

I think there is a difference between arrogance and acting. He's giving MTV what they want, whether challenge fans like it or not.

But a lot of the castmembers don't like him outside of the challenges as well...
But a lot of the castmembers don't like him outside of the challenges as well...
Are you absolutely, totally positive that is true? Some people's real opinions (not the opinons they tell fans on internet radio shows while a season is ongoing) are very different.
But a lot of the castmembers don't like him outside of the challenges as well...
In the game of F***, Marry, Kill, everybody always kills Wes.
In the game of F***, Marry, Kill, everybody always kills Wes.
To borrow for the storied history of the UK's House of Commons, "Mr. Speaker, I refer the right honorable gentle person to my prior remarks on this subject."
In the game of F***, Marry, Kill, everybody always kills Wes.
I'm sure no one will ever find themselves in a real version of that game...
But a lot of the castmembers don't like him outside of the challenges as well...
I heard some still like him, Ev, Nehemiah, Jonna, Jasmine, Anessa, Jen and Mandi all seem to still like him and Nehemiah, CT, Laurel, Paula and CM all went out together after the after show, so it's not like they can't stand each other. Even Kenny and Johnny defended him on the CT fight and they said it's unlikely Wes and CT would get in a fight on the reunion because they've seen each other since then.
Wow Wes and Nehemiah are on the next podcast! Never thought that would happen, interesting I wonder if Wes is going to talk the way he does on the show. It's good to hear from him because everyone talks about him and he doesn't have twitter or anything so we never hear from him outside of the show.
lol i wonder if wes has listened to any of the previous podcasts. derrick has not shied away at all from voicing his hatred towards wes
No that's just Derrick saving face so people don't yell at him for not hating Wes. Derrick's actually gonna be the godfather of Wes's children whenever he has any.
No I'm obviously not being serious, but it's something that people seemed to have forgotten that Wes said and I wanted to bring it up again :wink3:
Derrick:
About to podcast with Wes and @NehimiahMtv Feel free to send questions. I'll try to shout you out and get your questions answered. =0)
For anyone with a twitter account interested in sending in questions.
Wow surprised Derrick wanted to do one with Wes and vice versa. Derrick talks so much crap about Wes. If Wes starts talking about how he is the best ever, how is Derrick going to respond?
