I hope it has nothing to do with famaily, friends, relatives or whatever. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for new fresh faces, I think it's important to bring new personalities into the game. But they have to make sure they try their best to cast people who will bring "something" to the show. Wheter is drama, competitivness, something unique, etc. And with this rumored format, it limits the potential to cast several people, thus affecting the possibility to have "worhty" competitors to choose from, and that worrys me. I suppose in Fresh Meat, for example, they have more options than this rumored theme, which will give more chance to cast better competitors like Queen Evelyn. Anyway is too early to tell, I just hope that whatever format they decide to do, the casting is done correctly.
As I've now written more times than I can count, Evelyn is a 2L at Harvard. She's not returning. She has summer plans and will be studying in London in the Fall.
You misread his post, calm down
Hey, new guy, I'm very calm, perhaps even sanguine given the nature of this thread, so you can ****.
I don't like the theme because it's a theme that will carry on for the next few challenges , which is a major part of why I don't want to see it , the family members aspect is something I really rather have them not taint with the BS that goes on in the show.

I know a lot of people aren't crazy about this theme but please keep a few things in mind...
1) This show has been on the verge of cancellation for a while. The lack of shows on MTV being runaway hits and the mainstream coverage they get from people like Bill Simmons, Johnathan Coachman, etc. have kept it on life support. Also, the ratings for Rivals 1 and Battles of the Exes 1 really kept it afloat the last four seasons. If Bloodlines is successful, it may pump enough life to get another 2-3 seasons out of it.
2) The average viewer is who MTV wants to watch this show. The 100 or so people on here are valuable to them but not as valuable as the other 1 million or so viewers. Reality TV shows mostly don't last longer than 5 seasons. The Challenge has lasted longer than most of them with a few exceptions on the big networks (Survivor, etc.). The first season aired in 1999 ( I don't count the quasi Road Rules All Stars season) and it is still on 16 years later. In order to survive, the show has to continue to evolve.
3) V1Man is excited about the concept for a few reasons. One of which is a friend of his came up with it so if it succeeds, a friend of his gets a huge pat on the back. That said, if he thought it would be horrible, in the past he usually says so. This time he is actively engaged in the conversation. That tells me we should all keep an open mind.
4) At the end of the day, we will probably never get an Old School vs. New School Challenge. If we do, the Old School people will be Brad, Bananas, Mark Long, Wes, CT, etc. for the men and the female side will probably be a lot thinner because so many of them have retired. Why? Because anyone pre-Fresh Meat 2 hasn't been on the show in almost 6 years with the exceptions of Trishelle, Alton, Cohutta, and Isaac. Cohutta and Isaac being great surprises for Free Agents and the high possibility Cohutta gets casted in the future due to the screen time he saw in Free Agents.
5) Just enjoy the show for what it is and not what you want it to be. I'd love to see a Duel 3 with the best of the best battling it out but I also can't set my expectations so high that the show sucks in comparison. I wasn't sure how I felt about Battle of the Exes 2 after seeing the cast and especially after the Diem/Knight tragedies. It turns out, with the exception of the Final, I loved every single episode. It was great. Was the cast perfect? No. Was I entertained? Yes.
At the end of the day as a fan, I just want to be entertained and see some old favorites here and there which BMP tends to do from time to time if the format works. Sorry for the book but gosh the negativity about the new season that hasn't filmed, been confirmed, or seen yet can be a bit overwhelming at times.

On #3) I agree 100%
on #4) To be fare, technically, the ruins aird less the 6 years ago and we had greats like Veronica, Tonya, Darrell, Ibis, and we had Katie and Derrick and challenge after that which was a year later with Cutthroat...but I get what your saying
on #5) This is the main thing people need to remember. I always get sad when people move on or BMP is being dumb and wont cast alums that want to come back, but even though I didn't care for most of the cast on the paper fro Exes 2, it was still entertaining. The only reason why I liked Seasons 2 was because of Trishelle and Devyn, but really every season I find something I like because it's an elimination challenge...thats what drew me to the show in the first place with Battle of the Sexes 1 and I've been hooked ever since. I still have hopes that if this season does well another regime change and that they will be more open to people like Coral, Rachel, Darrell, Mark, etc.
On a side note: I don't remember if it was V1man or Pink Rose or someone else that said no one pre-fresh meat 2 will appear again, does that mean when their original season aired or just when they appeared on the challenge? Because technically we got a lot of alums post-fresh meat 2 like Rachel, Veronica, Ibis, Tonya, Derrick, Brad, Darrell, Robin, Abe, Wes, Melinda, Danny, Paula, Aneesa, Adam K, CT, Bananas, Tyler, & Lacey. All of which were on the show in the past five years. Even though I know some of those names are done for good, would they all still be technically able to get cast since they appeared post fm2? Or is age a factor in this choice?

Small correction: these three were last on the Ruins, which was pre-FM2.
When I first heard about this theme I was disappointed too and hated it. However, V1's confidence that it may do well is what changed my mind a little. It's definitely something new that we haven't seen before and it'll add an interesting twist to a show that's been the same since Rivals.
Veronica, Ibis, and a few you named were not post Fresh Meat 2 they were on the Ruins which was before Fresh Meat 2. I don't know how true that statement is but if someone like Coral, Veronica, or Beth wanted on a challenge and weren't asked MTV would be fools. I mean the consistently declining ratings for the network prove that already I guess. I know one person who watches the real world but not the challenges I know plenty of people though who watch the challenge and not the real world anymore. A lot of those people quit watching or don't watch if names they don't know aren't there. Bringing back one or two legends over worthless people like Jay or Simone will bring in viewers, fact. No one will not watch because a couple old schoolers are on but people will not watch because there aren't any old schoolers on. I wish I had one season to cast this show and redeem it. Hopefully Survivor has success with bringing back some old schoolers on it's next season and MTV will steal that idea too.

A few things
1. Okay fine but what does that really mean if those 2-3 seasons is just more stupid twists and recycled casts? Sorry but I'm not going to just take more of the same shit.
2. I get that they want casual viewers but does anyone else besides the fans that already into this show watch it? I mean at best nowadays this show only gets a little above 1 million viewers so it obviously isn't drawing in that many casual viewers. And the show does have to evolve but not like this, not in this way.
3. So? I don't care if V1 or his little friend likes this format or has so much confidence in it. That doesn't mean anyone else has to like it or "keep an open mind about it" I really don't like this format and this show isn't really built to do something like this. With this format it slips further away from the point of this show.
4. If we don't get an old school vs new school then fine but they really needs to start diffrentating the cast and give some damn surprises. I understand that people on this show have fanbases that help this show but some of these people they keep bringing back can sit out a few challenges to bring in someone new or haven't been on for awhile. Alton/Trishelle/Cohutta/Issac have all shown that people from the past can gain fans and contribute to the show. Why not do that more?
5. I'll enjoy the show for whatever reasons I want thank you very much.
If you don't like all the flak this format is getting then don't come to this thread and read it. Plain and simple.
Like I said last time, I totally understand if you take what I say with a grain of salt since I'm new-ish here and I haven't broken any news or whatever in the past. But I can confirm a few things.
1.) Like I said in the other thread, Bananas & Hannah have accepted. So they may not stick strictly to the "blood" aspect.
2.) Nia has accepted. Not sure who her "blood" is going to be.
3.) Wes has declined
adding to the above
4.) There's apparently an idea being bounced around of pairing CT with one of Diem's relatives(presumably they would be competing for charity.) So they're certainly not strictly sticking to the "blood" thing by any means.
My bad..they were in the last five years, but not post fm2...I always forget ruins was right before FM2 and not Vice Versa.
And I'm one of those people that don't watch the Real World, but I watch the challenge...I've always been that way. I've watched selected seasons of the Real World, and it's honestly just random when I pick one up...I watced Portland, but the last one before that that I had watched was Philidelphia...I know most cast members from the Challenge, and thats why I like to see a good mix when it come to casting because it gives me a sesne of nostalgia when people like Veronica, Rachel, Coral, Beth, etc show up and I also like to meet new people too like when LaToya popped up on Free Agents or Devyn on Seasons 2...but without a proper mix the same peple will keep winning or dominating or there will be too many fresh faces and I don't feel attached to anyone. Thats why I'm hoping for some surprises with the casting.
5. I'll enjoy the show for whatever reasons I want thank you very much.
I promise I'm not trying to start a flame war or attack you but I'm genuinely curious. Every time I see you post it usually is a negative post about FM people not being real cast members or you hating something.
Is there anything about this show you actually like anymore? If not, why continue to come on here and be negative? It's one thing to express an opinion, it's another to always be the Eeyore of a message board.
" Just enjoy the show for what it is and not what you want it to be"
datraceman, the whole point of watching these shows is because we like it. Obviously if we don't like the show, we won't watch it you idiot. I don't really care what V1 or anyone who approves this idea of bloodlines says. If we don't like the idea, deal with it. Now loyal fans like me will watch the next season and every future season but all I'm saying is.. were all entitled to our own opinions.
The show has been on the verge of cancellation for so long because of THEM (BMP/MTV). They are the main people at fault & clearly aren't in touch (nor do they care to be in touch) with the people that have watched these shows for years.
I would love to know just how does certain people at MTV getting fired = no more old-schoolers on the show ever again (still lmao @ how this is said as if they've been having old-schoolers from jump). How long have the people still on board at MTV/BMP been in their positions? In what mind frame do you say "forget all the dramatic, interesting people who made the show what it is; the big names that produced ratings FAR better than now & let's only ask the people who just cannot make new people care about this show & have brought the show to the low point that it has maintained for a while now" all the while having to be renewed 1 season at a time & having to bank on overused themes to keep the show afloat. What the hell was/is Jon Murray doing & for being the co-creator of these shows, why doesn't HE have sense enough to know that the current way the show is going doesn't work? Why does MTV insist on catering to ************** who DON'T give a damn about this show or truthfully anything else on MTV (http://www.rollingstone.com/tv/news/why-fewer-people-want-their-mtv-2015...)? So many questions....

Thank the lord. Please, everyone needs to read this, soak it in, and let it marinate, because it's exhausting having to explain how humans are when you're human yourself.
Was just thinking the exact same thing. He mentioned being a twin and being a successful baseball player on the show, they could be a really good team.
I would honestly be happy with Dario and his brother. Does anyone know if Ashley or Paris have siblings?
I am still hoping Nicole and one of her sisters can work around the wedding and show up. Would love to see Nicole compete.
PR go look at jordans tweets again. The click on his favorites, theres plenty in april
lol I feel like this is what half the posts are like on this thread...this was a good laugh though. thanks

I'm very happy about this!

5) Just enjoy the show for what it is and not what you want it to be.

Truth!
So someone from season 2 of are you the one was contacted #HappyTuesday #The*****ingBegins lol
My guts telling me its layton, please tell me My guts is full of shit.
Holy hell im turning into DA. AYTO can **** off.
To my understanding no, I am talking about another guy from that season.
Thank the lord. Please, everyone needs to read this, soak it in, and let it marinate, because it's exhausting having to explain how humans are when you're human yourself.
Brandon?.....plz no
Please, yes! Brandon was the only best thing about that season.
It has to be Dario he has a twin brother
I'm sure multiple people from that show have siblings.
Would be the best choice with that theme
mhm don't hold your breath lol
Was just thinking the exact same thing. He mentioned being a twin and being a successful baseball player on the show, they could be a really good team.
I would honestly be happy with Dario and his brother. Does anyone know if Ashley or Paris have siblings?
I am still hoping Nicole and one of her sisters can work around the wedding and show up. Would love to see Nicole compete.
