The Real World Homecoming (General)

You have Janet and Lindsay to thank for no Seattle. I wouldn't be up for it. Recently did a rewatch that season was painfully boring.

I mean..again..one of the most memorable things to happen on the entire Real World series happened on Seattle..the slap. So I don't think Bunim-Murray would easily pass up an opportunity to revisit that.

And considering it seems like there is a chance they would do a Hawaii Homecoming without Matt, I think it's definitely a possibility they would do a Seattle Homecoming without Janet and Lindsay, as long as Stephen and Irene agreed to do it.

Nathan seemingly implied that Irene was willing to do it, but the question mark is still Stephen as most likely none of them stays in touch with him.

I for one loved this season and I think there is actually a ton to revisit. Nathan's alcoholism, Rebecca's music, Stephen's sexuality, Irene's critiquing of the Reality TV process, David and Kira's relationship. It would be a huge bummer if Janet and Lindsay didn't participate, but I'd still be super excited if they did it without them.

It hasn't been confirmed yet whether Bunim-Murray is also reaching out to the Seattle and Boston casts a second time, but I'm assuming they are if they reached out to the Hawaii cast again.

Seattle without Janet and Lindsay doesn't work for me but i do undetected your logic behind it

"Painfully boring"? To paraphrase the iconic David meltdown, "You're killing me, @ChavoAntoine!"

Thank you, @ElkaIWillKnockYouOut for getting me w/ Seattle.

Having done recent rewatches myself (and still wanting a Miami homecoming), the many eps about the business that goes nowhere and especially the endless screen time of Joe and Nic's icky relationship made me like that season a little less. The Dan/Melissa envelope fight (and obvi Flora, Cynthia) still slaps tho.

I mean, me too! I would much prefer they participate. Janet and Lindsay were a big part of Seattle and I would love to see how they feel about it looking back. Clearly they have both wanted to distance themselves from the experience.

However, I'd rather have something than nothing and would be excited to see a Homecoming with the rest of the cast. That's basically how I feel about all of the seasons. Give me San Francisco, London, Miami, Boston too! I don't care if a few people aren't there or it's awkward. That's reality! Talk about why those people don't want to do it.

Even if they just did like 4 episodes instead of 8. Or one hour long reunion for each season seperately. That probably doesn't make sense logistically and financially for Bunim-Murray and Paramount, but as a fan I'd watch.

Thank you! I love Miami too, don't get me wrong. I think it would be fun to revist.

But Boston and Seattle hold a special place in my heart, as I know Miami does for other people. That's what makes this show great I guess, everyone has their favorites.

I think Seattle in particular is such an interesting cast because of how guarded they were and even still, it was entertaining. If you read about it, production had a really hard time with this cast because they felt like the cast was not open to the process and was constantly trying to hide things from the camera. In that sense, Irene was right. She felt like the process was fake and her cast members were being fake for the cameras. Apparently David and Nathan were doing drugs off camera. Lindsay was always going to a hotel that the crew was not allowed in. And I believe Irene claimed that Stephen had admitted to her prior to the slap that he had sexual experiences with men before.

I think if people were able to be honest and explore that in a Homecoming season it could be fascinating.

Loving that bts intel. And as much as I love Janet and Lindsay (so effortless attractive and fun - and also an instant friendship just like Flora/Melissa), if I had to choose, I'd rather get onscreen time with Kira in a Homecoming.

I'd love a Seattle homecoming. I don't see why they wouldn't want to revisit this season. I think it'll be very challenging to convince Lindsay and Janet to do this, but then again, money talks. I know that Janet is very established in her career as a news anchor

Sorry Dolores!  I just think rehashing the slap incident yet again wouldn't be that entertaining. Some of the things you mentioned like Nathan's alcoholism and Stephens sexuality didn't even take place on the show. And the David/Kira thing is something that always just went over my head. I didn't get what the big deal about it was and Kira was just so unlikable and snotty that I didn't care. This Homecoming would be dominated with the Stephen/Irene slap and I don't think it would be a good look to be showing a man slapping a woman in 2022. I am sure Jon Murray doesn't want to revisit that as much as he would other things.

I love all this info about the Seattle cast. See if they had not been so guarded and shown this side on the show I would have probably liked the season more. One thing I can't do with reality shows is fake. If I pick up on that then I check out. Which is why I think I loved Miami so much because those people especially Flora just did not give an F.

I love Miami too for that reason! Cynthia, Sarah and Flora are all legendary cast members because of how real they were. They said what they felt, were consistent and were interesting to watch. It's a great season and the Homecoming would be fun.

But, I have to disagree with you about Seattle!

Nathan's alcoholism and Stephen's sexuality were definitely featured on the show..in fact...alot! Nathan was always getting drunk and doing stupid things. It was clear that he had a problem, he just never admitted that he was an alcoholic until way after the show aired. Homecoming would be interesting because now he would have the chance to revisit those moments from a sober perspective.

Same with Stephen. Many people they encountered thought he was gay at first (including the group of bi/gay friends he hung out with in a couple of episodes, as well as their boss at the radio station). In fact, the slap might not have happened if Irene hadn't called him a homosexual. So it wasn't just a random guy hitting a woman, it was because he was clearly in the closet and she outed him (not that it makes it right to hit someone!). But the issue is complex and would be fascinating for him to revisit now that he is fully out of the closet.

And David and Kira was a big deal because they broke "the rules" of "the project", once again adding a meta layer to the season. And how intense and dramatic they were was entertaining.

so is this cancelled or is it just allstars im confused?

Calls people "old" as an insult but is the one with "old" in their username. lol ok

Sorry geezer didn't mean to strike a nerve with a joke.

What happened to Donnell after South Pacific?  All i know is he went to jail for hitting his gf but after that its like he fell off the face of the Earth.

Sorry geezer didn't mean to strike a nerve with a joke.

Just like someone like you to claim "it's just a joke". Get lost loser.

It was clearly a joke as is everything I say here. Just like you to have a meltdown over nothing just like you do daily about everything. You are in your 40s it's time to outgrow that kind of behavior lol.

I'm not in my Forties. Shows how much you know about me. So you know nothing about me. So stop acting like you do.

Lol. Bruh chill out...it's a reality tv message board. No need to get so worked up. I apologize, I wouldn't have made the joke if I knew you were so insecure about your age.

Now with the "chill out"?  Don't gaslight me and make yourself the victim. You're on this board making snide remarks at everyone of my posts or downright insulting me & I'm supposed to chill out?  F off.

Wait.  His girlfriend?  Thought he was gay?  No?

Lol gaslighting you? So you a geezer with a gen z whiney mentality? I can promise you I'm no victim on a website of strangers. That would be pathetic. Again, chill out none of that is this serious lol.

That's what I heard and also it would've made sense since he was during the show ridiculing Abram saying that he is not secure with his sexuality to the point where Abram lost it and punched him out.  Production had the rest of the cast come in and watch the tape of the event and they decided to side with Donnell and vote Abram out.

Better than Hawaii though
