Why wouldn't they put Carley on instead of Camila then so the Fresh Meat team had only, you know, Fresh Meat people?
Maybe they though Camila would bring more drama. Especially after the virginity comment from CM about Camilla. But all the names that Molds gave us gives me the hope that we will see some of them in future challenges that wasn't even a question.
Is it 100% a lock that this is a pairs challenge?
Is it 100% a lock that this is a pairs challenge?
They are going home in pairs but winning as teams, if that makes sense.
From my understanding, there were a lot of teams originally in the mix. At one point there were up to twelve seasons in the mix. As far as I know, Vegas 1.0 was originally Alton, Arissa, Frank, and Trishelle and Vegas 2.0 was originally Nany, Leroy, Dustin, and Cooke. Funny enough, I was told that Dustin was the one who originally dropped out of that foursome. Clearly, there were some people that BMP wanted bad - bad enough to cast a team around them even if they couldn't get four people from their season. Other casts that were approached: a generic Road Rules team, DC, Denver, and the San Diego OGs. Nehemiah (Austin), Ashlee (NOLA), Emilee (Cancun), and Carley (FM2) were all alternates.
Why the hell didn't they try to get the DC team when The Sydney team got the boot? And also if they couldn't get DC by then why didn't they get the Road Rules Team? Ugh...seriously.
So what they're doing is competing as teams but are eliminated in pairs. My question is how the heck does that work? Are they represented as teams of 4 but for challenges work as alternating guy/girl pairs and the worst team goes into elimination?

St. Thomas San Diego Las Vegas 2.0 New Orleans DC Cancun Brooklyn Sydney Austin Vegas 1.0 Damn, if they managed that it really would have been an awesome cast. Though in my ideal world, Mike and Emilee would have been on their teams (not alternates) instead of Ty and Jasmine. Oh well. It's a shame Hollywood became the red-headed stepchild of RW seasons. Well, this challenge leaves me hope though that the casting people are looking at other options now. DC isn't my favorite season or cast by any means, but I'd still like to see some other representation besides Ty and Emily. Preferably Mike and Ashley. So hopefully they continue to get called and get on one of these someday.
Since BMP went through all this trouble to have a predominantly rookie cast I wonder if they're planning to do the next challenge putting veteran competitors vs these new kids

It's surprising they can't (or choose not to) get Hollywood back on the show considering they have 9 cast members. I wonder if Dave and Brittni have been declining or just hasn't been called back. Molds do you know? Molds, do you know if was Mike an alternate because he had other potential obligations, or he would have done it if picked? Why they wouldn't give Ty a breather is beyond me... Callie was also be good to see. Also when Sydney got Xed out, do you know if they tried to get DC on? Also any idea why they didn't keep on DC and dump Brooklyn?

I just had a light bulb go off in my head. In Battle of the Seasons they did compete as pairs like Mike "The Miz" and Coral but over all they were on the Real World team taking on the Road Rules team also made up of pairs. But back then they worked on the scoring system and had no elimination rounds so it'll be interesting what they do for Battle of the Seasons 2
They are going home in pairs but winning as teams, if that makes sense.
Hm, then I can see why we once assumed that they were going home as a group - a disadvantage to win a mission once a pair from your team leave (maybe). Makes sense.
I would have liked to see Las Vegas 1 castmembers like Arissa and Frank. And also why not Carley over Camilla who isn't even a Fresh Meater? Maybe in the future they could have challenges that would have season 1 vs season 2. For example Las Vegas 1 (Alton, Trishelle, Frank, Arissa) vs Las Vegas 2 (Dustin, Leroy, Nany, Cooke) since we have Las Vegas, New Orleans, San Diego, and maybe use Brooklyn vs New York.

I would have loved to see the DC team over Fresh Meat.
A lot of people have been confused by Big Easy, Brandon, Cara Maria, and Camilla being on the same team mostly because Camilla is not a Fresh Meat but what she does have in common with them and what all 4 have in common is that they all debuted on a Challenge and they weren't on the Real World.

Or team "Jumped the Shark".

Molds, so Dustin initially pulled out, then they rejiggered, and then he signed back on? Why not keep Cooke and co. then?
Molds, so Dustin initially pulled out, then they rejiggered, and then he signed back on? Why not keep Cooke and co. then?
Maybe Leroy/Frank/Mike didnt wanted to do it anymore and then only Dustin was left so..
Maybe Leroy/Frank/Mike didnt wanted to do it anymore and then only Dustin was left so..
Or maybe Frank or Arissa pulled out so they combined the two teams.

So according to Trishelle's twitter, the season is officially called Battle of the Seasons 2 and does for sure start airing in October
Shouldn't the title be battle of the Cities not seasons, because of Las Vegas and the fact that the format is completely different from the first battle of the seasons?
"Host, TV Personality, Poker Player, MTV Challenge: Battle of The Seasons 2 airing October 2012, currently fiming Livin' The Life LA, New Orleans, Vegas" Is what her small description says for Twitter.
I guess my calendar skills were correct. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought it would begin between September 19-October 3. Either way I'm very excited for this upcoming season. It's going to be killer.

A new challenge and RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars! :p
How does that work? Also, the prizes weren't awarded by tv show, but by the individual team that won. However, the final mission was based on which show you were on.
Yes the challenge airing on October is perfect plus Rupaul's Drag Race All Stars and also Dancing with the stars all stars more like September/Oct.

Thats lame, so how would we do the score board after that? Lol I don't think I would count being voted off being the same as losing an elimination.

Lol I dont think I would count being voted off being the same as loosing an elimination.
Real World (at first) would vote off the lowest scoring team OR whoever they felt was breaking the team's chemistry apart (Beth, Stephen, etc.). Road Rules decided to be *******s and vote off the 4th place team to secure their own spots. So pretty much the first elimination in the show's history was the start of alliances because they wanted to keep their spot. It bit them in the *** though because the 2nd elimination saw one of the original inner circle members in 4th (one of which was Holly from Road Rules MVT's husband and she was still in the inner circle) so she came off as a huge hypocrite trying to change their gameplan to save her husband. Then after he got voted off, she tried to vote off the 4th place team again, being EVEN MORE hypocritical, but at that point they decided not to since they'd all look like huge *******s if they kept doing that. Real World won because they tried to keep the best team together while Road Rules was never a team and couldn't work together. So pretty much, vote offs wouldn't work in this game.
Just wanted to give props to Nightwolf--you summed that up perfectly
