taking a look at Tuesday night cable ratings, I think it would be more advantageous for MTV to move The Challenge and maybe even Real World back to Tuesday nights where they started. Just way too much competition on Thursday nights, I am sure thats why ratings suck this season, even though this season is MUCH better than Rivals 2.

Very tough night. Sports had two really big games going.
No surprise. I didn't watch live for the first time in a while just because of the NHL and NBA. The Ranger game ended 2/3rds through the episode and I pretty much immediately switched to the Spurs. Just not a great night.

Tuesday could work but everyone is use to Wednesdays.
I HATE it being on Thursdays. Bad move MTV.

Its been lack luster so far for me. Its a poor format in my opinion. A Duel format would have been much better.
I think this season is worse than Rivals 2.
I think the problem with this season is that every season since Rivals 1 has had a hook in terms of the cast. Rivals 1 was CT, JEK back together, and to a MUCH lesser extend Aneesa and Robin coming back (people were excited, even though they left early). Exes was the return of the CT/Diem dynamic. Seasons had Zach who, after his RW season, everyone was touting as the next big thing plus all the other new people. Then Rivals II was CT and Bananas and the vets being back. This season it's just the same people. No real intrigue from the cast.
They need to go back to Wednesdays next season. Tuesday could work but everyone is use to Wednesdays.
Monday or Tuesday would be better than either Wednesday/Thursday
Monday or Tuesday would be better than either Wednesday/Thursday
They should have just stuck with Wednesday. Its really not that bad.

This season however I was really hoping to see a changing of the guard I wanted to see guys like Jordan, Frank, Zach, and Leroy just take control of this season and thus take control of the franchise becoming the new faces of The Challenge but they really haven't done anything to change the The Challenge landscape.
They should have just stuck with Wednesday. The show used to air Tuesday in its early seasons.
That's one of the problems with the season I think... which might be why the ratings aren't as good as Rivals 2. Overall, the cast just isn't that good this season. Sure, you have CT and Johnny, but that's about it. Love him or hate him, but Wes always brings a lot of excitement and energy to the show. That seems to be missing this season. Jordon seems like he's trying to be Wes, except for the fact that he hasn't done a thing on these shows. Wes at least could back it up. There also seems to be more newer people than usual. Like does anyone actually care about Jessica, Emilee, Brandon, Swift, Theresa, Chet, Preston, Johnny Reilly, Cohutta, or Issac? None of them are really that interesting and they didn't really bring anything to the show. When there are only a select few cast mates that are interesting or that you care about, that's a problem. There were also way too many weak players this season, where as with Rivals 2 and the other partner seasons, it felt like 5-6 teams legitimately had a strong shot at winning. It also added an interesting dynamic that people were interested in. People like Preston and Jasmine are a waste because they have no chance. That elimination between Laurel and Jasmine wasn't even fun. With the partner seasons, the teams are more evenly matched, which makes things more interesting. Something like The Challenge: All Stars would be interesting. Get the best players from the past. No Preston's or Jasmine's. Get Emily, Ev, and Laurel on at the same time, etc. It's not really a competition when you have Laurel vs. Jasmine and we just have Laurel winning every challenge. Laurel vs Emily would be much more interesting. BTW.. is Kenny ever coming back?
I think I even remember it airing Monday nights too.
That was Road Rules...I remember fondly watching Road Rules on Monday night then Real World the next night...those were the good ole days!
Idk if Kenny is coming back but I wouldn't mind tbh. Only Kenny though not Evan.
I wish both of them would come back, as they are both entertaining. I think an Allstars challenge would work only if it were a Duel format. Brad, Mark, Susie and maybe a few others have said they would come back under the right circumstances. If the Challenge is on the way out this would be a great Challenge type to end on!

Every season, you're going to have your "duds;" it's been that way from the get-go, and I don't see it changing in the near future. Sorry, but you can't have all strong competitors on one season. Evelyn is done (this has been stated multiple times on this site), and Laurel vs. Emily would be the only competition. Possibly throw in Cara Maria, but that's it; Theresa and Sarah are another notch down from those three (Cara Maria might be in-between the two notches). The guys -- if there were to be a best of the best -- could work a bit better than the girls, but not by much. We've already seen Bananas vs. CT too many times; I don't think there will be anything added on with that. Wes is not in the same shape as his Duel days. Darrell, Derrick, and Mark could be on there. After that, I'm not too sure who else would be interested. As for Kenny -- and Evan as well -- they're both liabilities to BMP (or so what I've heard on this site) so they will not be returning to compete. They can do the after shows, etc...those type of things for The Challenge, but they're not going to compete anytime soon. I could be wrong, but I'm 99.99% sure that this is the case.
Shat about Rachel? Tori? Jill?
Jillian is done. Tori has stated she is done but there is a small possibility she would return, but probably only with Brad. Rachel is still interested if a Challenge works into her schedule.
So many old schoolers are done. So sad. :(
So many old schoolers are done. So sad. :(
Sad for the viewers that enjoy old schooler, good for them they have other stuff going for them instead of being on the same shows for 10-15 years without a family or a stable job.

If they really were liabilities, MTV would distance themselves from them. Yet, Kenny has done the after shows and stuff like that after the incident.

They won't and shouldn't be back on a challenge.
