Do we know if anyone from the cast is from TX? Friend of mine went to a casting call for real world a while back and she posted last week saying she was going to San Diego.
We haven't even seen the cast yet. If she's your friend, you might be better off asking her yourself...her response would be key.
The description on this video says that this chick made it past the first few rounds and they asked her to make a home video. I guess they are going for the feel of the original season if they are looking for people like her. lol I'd actually like to see her in San Diego. Total valley speak and she tries too hard. BMP will have to teach her how to let the camera love her. It never works the opposite way.
I don't think that if they are looking for people like her they are looking for anyone like the original season. She is clearly trying REALLY hard. It's annoying how much she swears and that high pitch voice is killing me... NEXT!
We haven't even seen the cast yet. If she's your friend, you might be better off asking her yourself...her response would be key.
Yeah I haven't talked to her since high school, she's somewhat rich and travels a lot, so I guess we're not that close lol.
I know this is probably WAY too early to be asking this, but does anyone have a guess to when the cast will be moving in, and when the season will start?
I have heard that they have started filming and they were in a bar in Pacific Beach on Monday night... that came from a friend of a bar employee... so it could just be spreading...
locals arnt very happy :( The Real World Returns to SD | NBC San Diego

It you don't count "I guess we're not into MTV," the older woman, who is really very well spoken, doesn't say one negative thing. If the RW house needs a grandmother, I think this lady is perfect.
That tape is way too long, I heard that if the tape is over a certain amount of minutes they won't even look at it. Maybe thats just the first tape though.
That tape is way too long, I heard that if the tape is over a certain amount of minutes they won't even look at it. Maybe thats just the first tape though.
Usually the first tape is supposed to be no more than 3-4 minutes, but the tape for the later rounds can be up to 10 minutes. But yes, that one is still a bit long...although maybe they have become less strict in recent years.
My friends ran into the cast last night at Bar West.
My friends ran into the cast last night at Bar West.
And..?
To the kid in the van with his "mother", take your own advice and make like a tree...well we know how the rest of that sentence goes. It just breaks my heart to see how people are getting this upset over ordinary people who are only moving there for 3 months or so. I just hope its not a repeat of Philly-Austin.
On a random note, on Derrick's latest podcast with ChallengeFacts and Mark about Rivals, he mentions Vevmo for the first time I believe in reference to this season being announced. Did he pronounce it right? I don't have a clue but I found it interesting that they'd actually mention the site.
So I don't have to actually listen to a Derrick podcast...how did he pronounce it?
Uhhhhhh Vev-Moh (The vev as if you added a V to Evelyn's name)
Uhhhhhh Vev-Moh (The vev as if you added a V to Evelyn's name)
If I were to ever say the word "Vevmo" out loud, that's probably how I would pronounce it as well.
If I were to ever say the word "Vevmo" out loud, that's probably how I would pronounce it as well.
You're correct. Bacchus posted on here waaaaay back that that was the "correct" pronunciation. :D
I always thought it was Veev-Moe :(
And..?
I don't have any more than just that right now. Just some confirmation they are actually filming now. I'll see if they snapped some pictures of the cast.
It just breaks my heart to see how people are getting this upset over ordinary people who are only moving there for 3 months or so. I just hope its not a repeat of Philly-Austin.
There is nothing ordinary about 7 21-26 year old strangers of very diverse backgrounds living together in tight quarters, mixed in among mom's making PB&Js and changing diapers next door. The hot tub parties, people getting wasted, and general drama/rowdiness that seems to be a prerequisite for this show just don't really seem to blend in. Kind of reminds me of "Wife Swap" (except those people all opt-in to participate). Let's just say people pay A LOT of money to live in that neighborhood, and they do so to avoid exactly this kind of thing. How many times in that news clip did you hear people say "quiet"? This show brings anything but quiet. BTW, reports of the value of this house are sorely understated. The empty lot next door to the RW house is currently on the market for over $7M. Potential Pacific Beach bars that have been scouted and may appear in the show are: Firehouse, Moondoggies, PB Bar & Grill, Johnny V's, Millers Field and Beachwood. They've all been contacted by reps from the show.

Just wanted to update on my friend, saw her last night so that knocks her out, sorry for the false hope if there were any.
Anywhere else but California would be boring and bland.
Anywhere else but California would be boring and bland.
If you want anyone to understand your comment, you really should provide some context. I have no clue what you mean.
They all just piled into a Silver KIA (7 seater I guess), and drove themselves followed by a white van (crew) to the Bare Back bar on Mission Blvd. They're there now if anyone wants to go check them out.
Hey LJGirl, was wondering if you could describe the races of the castmembers that you saw enter the vehicle? I'm hoping for a diverse cast this season!
I'm not trying to be mean when I say this but if they don't like it they can move---welcoming or no welcoming. I don't see why they getting all bent out of shape about a 3 month show.
That's sort of misguided, isn't it? You are essentially saying that people who have lived there for years should get used to these vacationing drama magnets or get the **** out. What part of that is right?

What part of that is right?
Unless it is a gated community with lots of restrictions that say otherwise, short of laws being broken, its not right for one property owner to try to dictate what another property owner does with its lands. I would love to be an adjoining resident--I'd set up a live webcam of the joint.
I feel old now. They are going back to a season that I actually watched the original of when it aired. I'm really hoping this cast is more in depth, the past seasons I feel all they really discuss are who can sleep with who for an entire hour. I would like to see more casted like Frankie who opened her life up to MTV about her illness, and Paula who MTV took to therapy, and Pedro, the show is starting to get less real, more fantasy. :-( I'm new here by the way, hope to continue in more future discussions, the house looks really nice by the way :-) If they can cast a girl like Jamie this season I'll be really excited!
