I don't understand why this isn't getting more raitings than Last season... cancun is way better!!!!!
That may be a matter of opinion. I felt Brooklyn was better. Cancun is just more and more loose and I leave it as that.
What happens on the next episode?
I think there was no promotion for it besides the sneak peek at MTV. However there could always be a pre-emption.
I don't think MTV would want to get rid of one of their most watched shows. If they are, good luck to them because the only reason I tune in to their network is for The Real World and The Challenges. Don't worry though. I have a great feeling about D.C. Its presence has been known to everyone in the area of Washington and there have been huge blobs of press surrounding production and the show. All of this equals promotion. D.C should be a heck of a season, IMO.
MTV must be ready to get rid of Real World
Not so much.
The Real World is one of their highest rated shows and they just re-upped for 4 more seasons this spring...
As bad at the Real World is doing (which isn't too bad compared to a lot of VH1/MTV shows), it did nearly 3 times better than Paris Hilton's new BFF (looking at the 07/28 and 07/29 episodes)
Are the ratings even that bad? They seem pretty consistent (1.7 million). If you look at the Brooklyn ratings thread around this time in the season, the ratings were actually lower (1.2-1.5 million). Brooklyn started off strong, but started decreasing a lot by the end of the season. I think the finale only brought in like 1.2 million..

Brooklyn's finale picked up 1.6 million.

Either way, the ratings for Brooklyn seemed to have fluctuated week-to-week. Cancun has been pretty consistent.
The Real World: Cancun did not make the Top 10 chart for the 18-34 Demographic on Media Life Magazine.
Real World Cancun isn't a bad season at all. If i'm going to be honest I like RW: Cancun more than I like RW: Brooklyn. RW:Cancun just didn't get promoted well at all. Or people have lost interest in TRW all together because it's been on so long.
I honestly got bored of Brooklyn. I stopped watching it after like the 3rd episode. To me, I find Cancun watchable. But then again, now that Joey's gone...

I didn't watch this week's episode because of no Joey. MTV isn't promoting Cancun well compared to Brooklyn. Used to be there were lots of reruns and ads for Brooklyn but seemingly fewer of either for Cancun. Lord Knows MTV is becoming the 16 and pregnant network lately. Brooklyn did get boring because they got too wrapped up in Ryan's story, silly pranks that were not remotely funny, and IMO, they were afraid of offending any group by making its housemate supporter look bad. I really really hate the editing for Brooklyn--about the only good part of that season was the dailies content.
Brooklyn was straight up boring....i regret watching it, it was a huge waste of time but me being a huge fan of the real world stopped me from not watching it.
yeah Brooklyn was more serious but that's all it was basically...that's why i like TRW:Cancun because even though they party it up there's seriousness to it as well. Like the last episode I loved because they got to do charity work for the kids in Mexico.
I think Brooklyn's biggest shortcoming was the lack of any meaningful group cohesion EVER (I blame it on the lack of a proper table that could seat all the mates at once). It was just a group of cliques from day 1 that never changed and never got any more interesting. Other than the Ryan twist which was about as obvious as the nose on my face pretty early on, the season was pretty much set by episode 4.
Cancun I like better because of the dynamics being so fluid though I would not say the group is a brain trust by any stretch.
