Oh but they are so cool, not. Team Vegas all the way unfortunately it seems as though Zach has a huge head after this challenge which is really annoying.
I feel like Zach is gonna be the Evan of The Duel 2 on this show. He is gonna be the godfather on this challenge in the sense that everyone is going to go to him for answers, votes, and game security. If that makes any sense to anyone.
I'm not even a fan of team San Diego, but the hate for them is strong.

I just hope he turns into Svetlana and never heard from again.
I just hope that Zach/Frank aren't such *******s that they kill this show too
I seriously don't understand why everyone is complaining. I mean, really. The majority of people who post here constantly complain about how they are sick and tired of the same people running everything. Well, this challenge that didn't happen. This challenge had new people take over. AWESOME - that's what we've wanted for years! You say Johnny/Evan/Kenny are ruining challenges....and now you're saying the fact that San Diego dominated is going to ruin this challenge? Makes no sense to me. Every challenge there is going to be a specific person/group of people who dominate. That's just how it goes. This time, it's a new crop of people. BRILLIANT. Why's there so much hate? I don't get it... Granted, I don't watch these people incessantly on Twitter to see everything they are saying. But from the looks of it, Zach is talking a lot of smack. But didn't anyone watch San Diego? That's part of his personality. I'm sure he's joking with most of these people and laughing at how much hate he's getting on this board. It's all a game...

I wanted it to be like back in the day when it was about competing to see who was the best, not the political bull**** it's turned into.
There is a change - the newbies dominated. That's good enough for me. Back in the day, there were people running things, it just wasn't as obvious. Look at the first Gauntlet - how many times did Sarah unfairly go in? Adam, Theo, Darrell, Rachel, etc pretty much ran the Road Rules team. On Battle of the Sexes 2.... Eric, Theo, Dan, Mark pretty much ran things (see what happened to Brad). ANY challenge with Coral before Gauntlet 3. She ran ****. Now it's just more in your face and obvious. But trust me, specific groups ran things back then too. They were just more sneaky about it.
The vibe of the show drastically changed once they got rid of the scoreboard. People could just come up with the most random of reasons to vote someone off, since they didn't have "scores" to go by. But there also hasn't been a challenge with a scoreboard since 2003. Soooo.... I wouldn't just blame that on the new cast from the past 3-4 years. The vibe of the show has been like this for years.
M sentiments exactly. I just hope he turns into Svetlana and never heard from again.
Assuming that these challenges do good and are consistently renewed, Frank and Zach will then be the Johnny and Kenny of these challenges. Going on 4-5 challenges in a row.

On The Inferno II, Mike and Abram ran the show for the guys and Veronica, Tina, and Rachel for the girls. On The Gauntlet 2 as a result of being the captains Alton, Kina, and Derrick pretty much ran the challenge and decided what the eliminations would be based on the rules of the game. Battle of the Sexes 1, the inner circle ran the entire game especially for the girls because if I remember correctly, the inner circle for the girls didn't change at all.
Every competition has it own leader and favorite. It's normal. This time it's Zach, next time it maybe Trey who knows.

Yeah a lot of the times people were being political, but it wasn't NEARLY as bad as it is now and even then, a lot of it came down to performance. Miz was a leader so his team let him "run" the team on Inferno 2. Battle of the Sexes 1 you at least had half of the cast not using any politics and then when the other half did, they were flat out disgusted with their actions and called them out on it. How often do you see someone say "Wow you keep putting me first and you get to go last?" You don't. The game isn't fair anymore based on how it's laid out and I hoped that we wouldn't see massive egos running the show but from the looks of things, that's probably what we'll get.

And as far as Gauntlet 2, Derrick did not run the vets team. I don't think anyone did. Same with the rookies. I think you're mixing things up because those examples don't fit at all. When I think of people "running" a challenge based on politics I think of, Gauntlet 3 (trim the fat), The Ruins, Island, and Rivals.

And I don't have a problem with one particular team doing well, It's when people think they can talk to anyone any way they want. That's when I have a problem. And I'm definitely sensing that from the Flim Flam brothers Zach and Frank.
Is it impossible to do both?
Politics can influence how well someone does. Johnny won 3 missions on Rivals. All 3 of those saw him going last and CT going first. Take out the politics of "choosing the order" and things may be different. Johnny came in last place the only time he had go to first on Exes. Stuff like that annoys me.

That's why CT and Diem did so well, they saw took everyone else's strategies while the other teams had to go by trial and error. Also, Johnny didn't really mess up. It was Camila, who btw was the smallest girl. She's no bigger than Snips!

Certain missions show that whoever goes first is screwed and whoever goes last has the best advantage. When you see big alliances and such, all they have to do is have someone in the alliance win the first mission and choose the order for the entire season.

As a competitor, if you are expecting everything to be sonic rainbooms and magic you are probably on the wrong show.

You didn't need to go last to win...only CT & Diem did that if I recall correctly. Emily & Ty had many chances to win and failed to do so--that could have changed everything.
That's never going to change and life isn't fair. I don't understand the complaint.
That's never going to change and life isn't fair. As a competitor, if you are expecting everything to be sonic rainbooms and magic you are probably on the wrong show.
Not always. It was sometimes randomized, or at least they didn't try to screw people over all of the time. Nowadays, you'll always see the best team who isn't in the chooser's alliance go first all the time.
I think the main difference between the cast of recent challenges and the cast of the older challenges is that the newer cast sees this as more of a job rather than a fun vacation with friends. They take it way more seriously - which makes it that much more intense. Plus, the same people are continuously returning. Back in the good ole' days, it wasn't always the same people (usually) so it was harder for the same people to always be running things. Look what happened when Veronica and Coral were always on the show - they would have a ton of power. Hell, Veronica persuaded the entire Road Rules team on Inferno to throw missions just to get rid of Katie (which back then, each challenge you won added to the team's bank account. So yes, Veronica persuaded Road Rules to LOSE money). My only complaint is that the same people are always on the show, which in my opinion, makes it way easier for people like Johnny, Kenny, Paula, Jenn, etc to run the show. It's always the same people and they know everyone's every move. What I am LOVING about this challenge is it's mostly new people. I don't care that Zach and Frank controlled it. Good for them. At least it's new people.
That wasn't about politics though, they were clearly the alicorns of the challenge. And as far as Gauntlet 2, Derrick did not run the vets team. I don't think anyone did. They took in the weakest players to do what? Trim the fat. Alton constantly went after the smaller guys on the team (Adam, Jeremy, and Danny) what did Kina do pulled in the smaller/weaker girls (Jillian and Cameran).
There were politics in the past as well. On Battle of the Sexes 2 the guys threw the Final Challenge so that the girls couldn't get rid of Arissa and split the money with Mark for being eliminated due to the throw. Who cares if San Diego created a super alliance on this season and that JEK did so in the past? It has always been a part of the show.
Well to be fair, I think back in the older challenges, it was a random order of who performed in each mission. It wasn't until some of the later challenges (can't remember just how far back now, maybe Fresh Meat? I remember there being drama when Diem/Derrick put Shane/Linette first), where they implemented the rule where the last winning team or whatever gets to choose the order during the missions. But yes it's definitely true that there has never been a challenge where there wasn't a dominant group running things. I mean, the earliest two "real" challenges (not 6v6) were literally run by a group of people who determined who got to go home and who got to stay. And those were very political even back then (Hollywick anyone?). I mean, watching those challenges between Gauntlet and Inferno 2, you pretty much knew that certain people were going to be there until the end. People like Coral, Mike, Veronica, Rachel, Darrell, Theo, etc. Sure, occasionally they were voted off or "in danger", but it was still a pretty safe bet that they'd be there til the end. Even in Gauntlet 2, which was just brought up, was political. I love Kina and will defend her to the death, but that decision to choose Jillian over Ibis was purely because she felt more confident going against Jillian due to their comparable size and also because Ibis was her best friend. Jillian was definitely a safer bet as far as somebody you'd want in a (traditional) final. Of course, it all worked out in the end anyways. And as a sidenote, Ibis >>>>>>>>> Jillian any day of the week. So I personally am not going to complain about a group of people potentially running things, because it's most of these people's first challenge and it was bound to happen. Also, sorry for the novel and that this is kind of off topic at this point....
Yes, this has been more than enough. Please no more talking about how things were in previous challenges. Let's focus on this one...
