Sometimes. In the case of Tonya throwing Beth's clothes and suitcases in the pool, she did not know in advance. It wasn't until over a year later at a photo shoot where I convinced the two to talk face-to-face with the details of the setup became clear to both of them.

Overall, a ratings disappointment for "Free Agents."
Overall, a ratings disappointment for "Free Agents."
By the way how they promoted and edited the entire season...was there any doubt? I mean they wasted CT vs Bananas for a puzzle...
By the way how they promoted and edited the entire season...was there any doubt? I mean they wasted CT vs Bananas for a puzzle...
Because they had any idea who would be in the final elimination before hand. Having a puzzle last is great because it's a massive curveball for the crossfit cult.
Have to say very disappointing season based on the eliminations being no contests. Was there really any close eliminations? Not really.
Simple fact of the matter is: not enough people tuned in. The season started off low, and it only ended slightly stronger, but still low for Challenge standards. Slim-to-no reruns and lack of promotion didn't do this season any justice either. At least with Catfish and Teen Wolf, they were promoted like crazy, even on other channels, and they get all the reruns they want(at least Catfish does)(also fun fact, I found this show when it had a rerun on). Oh well, I just have a feeling MTV doesn't care anymore about this show which is a shame. Guess I'll tune out of MTV until either RW30 or Challenge 26.
This season more than any other had competition for me when it came to other events. I'm a big NBA fan so TNT playoff games took a lot of my live viewing away. Then the world cup didn't help, NBA draft and NFL drafts. Just a lot going on Thursday nights this time of the year. The challenge season itself I thought was pretty good. Probably my favorite since the first Rivals. I didn't like how all the eliminations favored the bigger athlete. Hopefully the next Real World comes out strong. I do fear what this may mean for more original challenge formats. I think we are going back to paired challenges like exes and rivals again after this unfortunately. Those are my least favorite kind. I like a solo game or big team game. Cutthroat is my ideal setup but I doubt we will see that again either.

One of the best eliminations would have to be the girls: Jemmye/LaToya and Cara/Jessica.
Nia vs Cara Maria.
You're right forgot about that one.
Guess I'll tune out of MTV until either RW30 or Challenge 26.
I never watch MTV until the Challenge rolls around. Absolutely nothing about this network or any of its programming is appealing to me on any level. I did start out watching Awkward when it first premiered, but I've since abandoned that show long ago. Out of curiosity, what kind of ratings are expected for The Challenge anyway? Ugh, I really hope we don't have to go back to team-paired challenges. I hate watching people struggle or lose based on some tenuous connection they had once upon a challenge. It takes away from the challenge aspect. Like how can we root for a strong player if they're saddled with someone like Devyn? The whole season is sunk if a Challenge favorite has no shot to the end anyway.
Out of curiosity, what kind of ratings are expected for The Challenge anyway?
The Old School challenges, back in the day before everyone had cable/satellite, the good episodes were consistently above 2.0M. Of course, some argue the realty shows are more wide-spread and diverse today, but that doesn't tell us what happened to ****+ viewers.

Because I just got the chance to view these for the first time over the last couple of days and I don't really see them having enough substance to attract a large amount of viewers like that

Even from Battle of the Sexes 1 to The Gauntlet 2?
That makes me so sad that rankings are so bad, but it could be because of internet. I watch shows online, not on TV. Do they count online views too? Only shows I watch from MTV are Teen Wolf and The Challenge. It ****** me off that some other ****ty shows have better rankings, like pretty little liars
So the highest ratings The Challenge has ever achieved was in the 2.0M range? Even from Battle of the Sexes 1 to The Gauntlet 2?
Gauntlet 1 apparently had over 4 million viewers
What were the ratings for the final episode.
Gauntlet 1 apparently had over 4 million viewers
This was the first challenge I ever watched. The reason I had continued to watch it was because there was a fair balance between the drama and the competition, as well as the fact that I could relate to Sarah in the fact that she was an underdog. Feeling like I could relate to situations makes me more inclined to keep up with those situations. Overall, it was a testament that if you have enough heart, you can fight through all the negativity and succeed. This challenge (like many past challenges, of the recent 'era'), the underdogs all got thrown under the bus with no chance. Let's be honest here, Cara Maria with one hand, on a wall climbing elimination.... I wish they would go back to having multiple eliminations with one being randomly chosen. Bring back the 'Life Shield' (with a different name, of course.).
Gauntlet 1 apparently had over 4 million viewers
Didn't the Duel finale have 8 million?0
Didn't the Duel finale have 8 million?0
I doubt it, The Real World on it's prime did like 5 million viewers with Las Vegas season, so I doubt a Challenge topped that.
I doubt it, The Real World on it's prime did like 5 million viewers with Las Vegas season, so I doubt a Challenge topped that.
I hope thats not referring to Las vegas 2. And yeah a challenge could top that depending on which season and its cast. Especially circa 1998-2005 (Season 1-11).
Heeeeeeeeeeeeell no. The life shield was annoying.
Being rewarded for being the best player on your team for that specific mission was annoying? But Devyn skating through both finals isn't?
Being rewarded for being the best player on your team for that specific mission was annoying? But Devyn skating through both finals isn't?
Don't even try to reason with him/her. Logic does not work on those types of posters.
Being rewarded for being the best player on your team for that specific mission was annoying? But Devyn skating through both finals isn't?
Neither are annoying really.
Don't even try to reason with him/her. Logic does not work on those types of posters.
That was unnecessary. Just because I don't like the **** doesn't mean I'm illogical. Have several seats.
That was unnecessary. Just because I don't like the **** doesn't mean I'm illogical. Have several seats.
Saying a format that rewards the best competitor is "annoying" just because you don't like the winners' personalities is illogical. You stay in your seat, and don't try standing up again.
