Kudos for firing Alex, but again..how is Jordan is still keeping his job with MTV? He literally called a black woman the N word, spit on her, & made monkey noises. Can they go ahead and make an announcement regarding him?

I'm surprised they haven't. Maybe they're hoping this blow over with people like him and Bananas. MTV needs to stop picking and chosing and stick to these punishments for everyone IMO

I'm curious does anyone think Jordan's changed at all? I think I remember seeing tweets from Nia defending him and people saying his upbringing was why he was like that and that he's changed. The only thing that holds weight there is Nia defending him but just curious on others thoughts.

Marlon did an afterbuzz and he said that him/Nia consider him an allied now days. That he has change since they did the Portland season.

I liked The Real World because it was supposed to take 7 strangers from different walks of life and give them the opportunity to learn and grow from eachother. The Julie/Kevin conversation on race was so powerful the first season. The Coral and Mike conversation on race was one of my favorites moments. I think that people can learn and grow, if Nia was able to forgive him and has seen growth I think everyone else should. I hate cancel culture and think it's so toxic and defeats the purpose of trying to educate people. But I am also not a minority so it's probably a lot easier for me to have that view.

I mean MTV purposely casts people who are ignorant on the Real World (there always seems to be at least 1 "conservative"/"that's just how I was raised" inbred) and then trying to punish them for it years later does seem pretty idiotic lol

That's why I'm conflicted lol Should we punish someone for past racist stuff when at the time they may have been sheltered and not known any better? And castmembers (Marlon/Nia) vouch for them now that they've changed? Idk his whole life story so maybe there's more to it.

Only thing is they can't use that excuse for someone like Jordan and then cut ties with Taylor for tweets from 10 years ago. Idk lol I usually think once a racist always a racist but for some reason have a soft spot for Jordan even though he's a ********.

I totally disagree once a racist always a racist. A lot of kids grow up with ignorant/racist parents and most kids opinions and beliefs are reflections of how they are raised. Once people get into college, get life experience, and their brain fully develops their ideologies change and grow for the better (hopefully)

I am a minority but i have the same view. IF there a is a controversial topic, let them show everyting but do an aftershow with experts of BLM like what they did with Camilla. Almost every season of th early real worlds had a debate or argument about race. We should show racism even more, and not try to hide it and pretend it doesn't exist. You just have to have some kinda debate about why some things are wrong or racist.

I feel like the real world footage is tricky because they were purposely casting people with such opposite views to have that type of drama on a show with the concept of Real World. So it's ironic that they would fired them over something they hired them to do years ago.

Yeah I see that maybe what I said was more of a general/blanket statement and I do think people can grow and change but at the same time wasn't Jordan in his mid 20s by then? I'd understand if he was 18 but by your 20s shouldn't you have a better idea of the world? Some goes for other people that are getting cancelled who in their 20s was still doing racist stuff. Not sure if there's a right or wrong answer here honestly lol

He was 21/22 I think

idk.. this is why they really ****** up when they fired Taylor. They really started a witch hunt for anyone who posted anything really remotely insensitive let alone full on racist like she did.

They look stupid per usual picking and choosing how to handle their favorites which actually hurts more than it helps

exactly. they asked for exactly what they got and now want to act like they didn't purposely try to get it **** make it make sense.

I think they just needed to suspend those who said stuff way back. If anyone says anything now - fired for sure. But not punishing people when it happened and then punishing people (and only the ones deemed not valuable enough to keep around) looks fake and like they don't really support the movement at all (which we knew, but still)

Wait, called her the N-word and spit on her!? wow. How did this info not get out earlier?

I don't remember where he was from but a lot of people don't learn till they are out of their ignorant small town or away from their home environment with racist views.

Mustang, Oklahoma.

If I am not wrong during a fight with Nia they both were still living without parent at the time in their home towns.

oh shit. I'm didn't really watch RW seasons like that, but a **** ******* shame MTV has done shit regarding this during that time.

crazy they cut alex when he's literally the main character of the show (from what i remember of season 1)

let's be real it was over for mtv ever since they decided to cut clara tan from being on wotw1. this is their karma

yeah i think its always been public knowledge of what happened but MTV never really did anything about it until now (same with Taylor as well)

Is Dee in rehab?

So is jordan cancelled ?

I woikd be really sad Sad

I'm watching the afterbuzz after show and they said at one of the challenge mania events, it was brought up why Camila never got banned for what she said to Leroy. And the cast said in their contract it actually says that if you say offensive things while filming in character, you won't get kicked off, fired, or banned.

No one has ever said Camila was banned over that actually she never was told she was banned she just stopped getting calls after punching the producer, stealing the golf cart from the hotel and threatening to killed herself in the bathroom during the spinoff show premiere after dirty 30.

No one except for Dee has been told they are banned they just stop calling them.

Got to love nuance. Something cancel culture can't comprehend

Castmembers are ******* shaking ****. Just goes to show, be a good person or keep your nasty opinions off social media.

I dislike Dee on the show but this just shows that today's society is shit. Twitter /IG is cancer and this whole ganging mentality needs to end. BLM is  good movement (I'm black before anyone jumps on me) but I feel like a lot of people are losing sense of what it is and are just out to hunt others. Dee didn't need for the whole social media to gang on her or call her trash. She needed to be reprimended and taught that the statements she made are not okay.

The first dude who jumped on her for the black square and then posting her things is stupid as ****.

Jemmye and Marie creating unnecessry drama and calling Wes out was stupid too.

Also **** MTV for jumping on the bandwaggon when they had much worse episodes of racism on the show and they did nothing about it before (Camila and Jenna from RW Go big or go home).

This extreme left behaviours is becoming toxic af.

This is what we were talking about yesterday on here as far for Real World
